1947 International Custom Street Hot Rat Rod Chopped Lowered 350 V8 New Build on 2040-cars
Morehead, Kentucky, United States
Up for auction is a fresh build, we started with a late model G.M. frame, L88 350 crate motor, and a TCI Turbo 350 Automatic transmission. The suspension is upper and lower control arms in front with 200 # coil overs in the rear, traction bars, axle ties. It has new brakes and rotors in the front with drums in the back. It consists of power steering and power brakes, It has all new hardware, brake lines, power booster, master cylinder, and proportioning valve. The cab is a 1947 International, which has been chopped 4" and painted corvette yellow. It has all new interior from seats, carpet, autometer gauges, removable steering wheel for easy access in and out. It has working tail lights, headlights, and turn signals and intergrated into the front headlights. It has a corvette style steel roll pan with a 11 gallon fuel cell on top. Brand new battery mounted in behind the seats, with a cheetah shifter mounted to the floor. The glass has cracks in the passenger side but I drive it as is. Same with the side windows but I just leave them down for fresh cool air, and so I can hang my arm out the window. It has custom made header mufflers with a edelbrock 650 cfm carb and electric fuel pump. Last but not least has a brand new set of American Racing aluminum wheels with cooper cobra's 295's on back and 235's on the front. Brand NEW. Still has the little rubber tabs. Overall the chassis, engine, trans, driveline, brakes, 100% paint, body, windows not so much. It has orange peel and minor imperfections in paint, body is NOT perfect. It looks really good but this is still a custom rat rod, not a Autorama winner. I drive it around and it gets lots of attention, also will lay down rubber for a city block with no problems. If you have any questions feel free to call (606) 261-9101 Please no calls after 10 P.M. E.S.T. Also I reserve to end the auction early due to selling locally, But if this auction meets reserve then I will keep it on here. Thanks and happy bidding.
On Jul-22-14 at 06:44:49 PDT, seller added the following information: This rod RUNS AND DRIVES EXCELLENT. It has the old school look but drives like a later model G.M. If you are local and want to view this vehicle please call, and we'll go for a ride. Thank you. |

Next-gen Chevy Cruze caught cruising in the cold
Wed, 13 Feb 2013Spy photographers have caught what looks like the next-generation Chevrolet Cruze out on snow patrol. The camo could be tricking our eyes, but it look like it has an even tidier, more rounded front end and even lower fenders in relation to the top of the hood. And either a chunk of camo has been wedged between the side mirrors and the doors, or the mirrors are up for revision, too.
The door handles have been moved up the side of the car, leading the way to a rear end that grows a bit in length. If the rumors are true, the coming second-generation Cruze sits on the new D2XX platform that will replace the Delta and Theta platforms at General Motors. A global architecture, the Cruze will be the first to get it, but it will underpin everything from next Chevrolet Volt to the Equinox and could be responsible for 2.5 million units by 2018. The next Cruze is expected to begin production in GM's Lordstown, Ohio plant in the third quarter of 2014.
Chevy Sonic shreds like a skateboard
Tue, 19 Mar 2013Despite the fact that the 2013 Chevy Sonic is a fun, plucky little thing - especially in ever-so-slightly hotter RS guise - it is not, in fact, a skateboard. But don't tell that to rapper Theophilus London.
In General Motors' latest spot for the Chevrolet compact, London needs to make a quick run to the store for some milk. And even though, once again, the Sonic is not a skateboard, it ollies, pops and gets air because, you know, it's just so much fun to throw around.
If this video looks familiar to you, it's because this is the full ad that we first got a preview of in Chevy's longer, full-line spot, where the brand's "Find New Roads" tagline was introduced. Scroll down to see this dedicated Sonic spot, along with the older ad, and remember, the Sonic is still - still - not a skateboard.
Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system works
Fri, 22 Mar 2013When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.
