1972 Nova SS Tubbed Pro Street, BBC with TH400 Trans with Forward manual shift Valve..Car has 4 wheel disc brakes, Ford 9" rear with 31 spline Mosher axles Just replaced new, 411 Gears with spool rear..Rear tires are 33/21.5/15 MT Street Tires..Front Tires are skinny's..Now I drive this car as a street car and have never had it at the race track, but imagine if you wanted to take it to the drag track it would be a awesome fun car to take down the track..My wife and I just had a Baby and thats the only reason I am consider selling or trading the car off for a more street friendly car..Would only be looking to trade for other Hot Rods or Street Rod cars..Now I purchased the car almost a year ago the way it is..Was told the Engine was a 540 BBC I have not had the engine apart so I'm not 100% sure of internals in the engine..Car runs awesome, and very loud and fast..Them huge tires will turn with just a little press of the gas..The car will run great on 93 Octane, But there are times I will go to the local Speed shop and Grab a few gallons of 110 Octane to mix in..And car seems much happier, but lke stated will run great also just on the 93 Octane..Most of the stock interior is in tack, Does have 2 racing seats up front, NO BACK SEAT, As car is Back Halfed..Door panels are intact will need head liner if you so desire, but never bothered me..all Lights and Blinkers work fine..Car is Pretty Solid over all with very few imperfections that could be fixed or just be driven the way it is..I don't get to drive the car much, but when I do bring it out I get stopped all the time for people to look at the car take pics and get high compliments..I'm setting a buy it now but am open to any serious offers..And or trades..But please don't waiste my time if your just a tire kicker or dreamer..I have a few Video's of the car I will post in the ad thats on youtube..And if you have any additional questions please feel free to contact me at 607-205-5449 By TXT or call..TXT Preferred, and would be answered to quicker, but if you call and I don't answer please leave a message and I will get back to you..Thank you..Also other pics available on request..I could txt them email them or send them how ever you would like to recieve them..Video posteed below, and you can get to 2 other video's through the link..

GM 6.2L V8 claims most powerful light-duty truck engine title

Thu, 12 Sep 2013

General Motors has officially captured the horsepower crown for mainstream pickup trucks with its 6.2-liter V8. The big mill, available in both the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, comes to market with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, handily outdoing its two cross-town competitors, Ram (5.7-liter V8, 395 ponies and 407 lb-ft) and Ford (6.2-liter V8, 411 hp and 434 lb-ft).
The new GM 6.2 will take a bit of an investment, though. Those that want the extra thrust will need to go with either the LTZ or High Country trims from the Chevy, or the SLT and Denali trims from GMC, which are the two highest trim levels for the respective vehicles. Trim levels aside, if you're in the business of towing, GM has you covered. Optioned with the 6.2-liter V8 and the Max Trailering Package, owners will be able to pull 12,000 pounds, a hugely impressive figure.
We still aren't certain as to what sort of economy the new engine will get, but it'll probably be a bad bet for the fuel conscious. As for availability, expect to see the 6.2-liter trucks in showrooms later in the fall.

Amelia Island 2013: Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray from concepts to split windows

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

While this year marks 60 years of the Chevrolet Corvette, the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance focused on one of the coupe's most sought after models, the 1963 Sting Ray. General Motors design boss Ed Welburn was on hand to show off the all-new C7 Corvette, but even the hard-edged styling of the 2014 Stingray couldn't take away from the beautiful 1963 models sitting out on the field.
In addition to the original Sting Ray and the 1959 Sting Ray Concept, some of the other classic 'Vettes included "Big Tank" racecars, an interesting cutaway coupe, a right-hand-drive Z06 and the attention-grabbing 1963 Corvette Rondine by Pininfarina. Another impressive Corvette was the 1964 Corvette XP-819 rear-engine prototype. Owner Mike Yager had the car finished as a driving chassis for this year's show, but promises the car will be back to its original glory in time for next year's event.

Why the Corvette is Chevrolet's billion-dollar baby

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Edmunds has worked up a piece that tries to figure out just how much the global Chevrolet Corvette economy is worth, a spitballed guesstimate putting the number at more than $2.5 billion with the proviso that the number is probably low. It starts by taking Corvette's new car sales of 14,132 units last year, which would equate to $714,725,900 (including destination) assuming ever car sold was a base coupe with no options. In the final tally, a little extra padding gets that number up to $750,000,000.
But that's not all. Consider this: Many of the almost 1.4 million Corvettes produced over the model's history are still on the road. There are new parts being produced and aftermarket companies like Mid-America Motorworks deaing business, that single Illinois company doing more than $40 million a year in sales. There are the Corvette events large and small, restorers who do nothing but Corvettes, salvage yards that deal only in used Corvette parts and the Corvette magazines where owners find all this stuff.
And then there are the Corvette-themed tchotchkes, every single one of which provides a tiny contribution to the huge licensing royalties that General Motors collects every year. The article admits there's no way to come to an accurate number, but it just goes to show how valuable one specific model can be to a company.
