THIS 1984 SS WAS TAKEN AS A TRADE AT MY WESTERN KENTUCKY USED CAR STORE. THE CAR IS A THREE KENTUCKY OWNER CAR AND WAS BOUGHT AT A NEARBY GM DEALER. THE CAR HAS NEVER BEEN INVOLVED IN A ACCIDENT AND THE MILES ARE TRUE. THE CAR HAS NO RUST OR ROT ON THE UNDERSIDE NOR THE BODY HOWEVER THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN PROFESIONALLY PAINTED AND LOOKS GREAT. THE INTERIOR IS FLAWLESS OTHER THA THE DRIVERS SEAT NEEDS A SMALL REPAIR (SEE PIC). THE FACTORY A/C DOES NOT FUNCTION HOWEVER ALL PARTS ARE WITH THE CAR. IT HAS A VERY NICE SET OF WELD WHEELS WITH A FAIRLY NEW SET OF NATIONAL TIRES (P205/75R15 ON THE FRONT & P275/60R15 ON THE REAR). THE TRANS IS A FRESHLY BUILT 700R4 WITH A STALL CONVERTOR. THE REAR AXLE IS A 373 POSI-TRAC. THE CAR RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT. I AM NOT REPRESENTING THIS CAR AS A SHOW CAR HOWEVER THE CAR IS ROCK SOLID, IN GREAT CONDITION AND IS A CAR THAT IS A HARD FIND. THE WINNING BIDDER WILL BY NO MEANS BE DISAPOINTED. ANY QUESTION PLEASE CALL 270-313-7856

Chevy shows much-improved 2014 Corvette interior in new video

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

If you want a closer look at what went into designing and building the interior for the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette, we've got just the thing. General Motors has released a new video detailing the cabin's evolution from conception to execution, complete with commentary from Ryan Vaughn, performance car interior design manager with Chevrolet. The quick clip details how manufacturing, engineering and design within General Motors worked together from the first sketches to ensure no compromises had to be made later down the line. How novel.
With plenty of hides traced with contrast stitching and available real carbon fiber trim, the cabin looks to be a few hundred miles ahead of the C6. Given how readily critics derided the previous generation for its cabin, the C7 should make writers work a little harder to find something to complain about. Check out the video below for yourself.

Fewer than 1 in 3 Chevy dealers earn right to initially sell C7 Corvette

Mon, 01 Apr 2013

Looking to make the launch of the 2014 Corvette Stingray as efficient as possible, Chevrolet will be limiting the numbers of its dealers that can sell the all-new coupe and convertible. According to Automotive News, sales of the C7 Corvette will initially be limited to less than a third of Chevy's total dealership network when the 'Vette goes on sale this summer.
Only 900 dealers out of more than 3,000 locations nationwide will be allowed to sell the new Corvette at first, and the reason for this is so that there are no shortages at dealers that can actually get the cars sold. The article says that the 900 dealerships chosen represented 80 percent of total Corvette sales in 2012.
Some of the requirements dealers had to make to get initial allocation of Stingray sales include having sold at least four Corvettes in 2012 and having a Corvette Stingray specialist who will be required to have gone through a training session costing more than $2,000 per attendee. Once demand for the 2014 Corvette Stingray begins to subside - approximately six to nine months after it goes on sale - then allocation could open up to more dealers, but the report indicates this could happen following the 2014 model year.

Read This: Auto Extremist advocates for Corvette as brand with multiple models [w/poll]

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette really grinds Peter De Lorenzo's gears. Or, more accurately, the self-anointed Auto Extremist has an issue with what he sees as mismanagement of the legendary sports car by General Motors executives. In a new editorial on his website, De Lorenzo argues it's time to split Corvette off from Chevrolet to create an all-new brand, complete with a model range with at least three new takes on the sports car. Capable of fully leveraging the successes of the Corvette Racing program and brandishing the full might of GM's technical prowess, the Corvette brand would theoretically give Porsche something to sweat over.
Sure, that sounds like a party, but given GM's troubled track record when it comes to launching (let alone managing) brands, we say that's slippery slope that could just as easily end with the whole Corvette franchise in the scrap bin. Either way, the notion is certainly an interesting one. Head over to Auto Extremist to take in the full editorial, and then let us know what you think in Comments. Should GM split off its most storied nameplate?
