Up for auction is my 1981 Malibu station wagon, original V-6 auto now v-8 4speed. This car is equip with a built 350 Chevrolet engine, 4 speed transmission. Engine has an Edelbrock aluminum intake with a Summit racing 750 cfm carb, full length headers, glass pack mufflers, Hurst shifter. Body is very solid, no rust out. All glass is good, have extra rear glass & couple windows. Steel cowl induction hood with original hinges. Front suspension is from a Buick Grand National, springs, sway bar, rear sway bar. Front disc brake rotors are cross drilled & grooved. Original air car, but not currently working. Dash is Monte Carlo SS as are the aluminum wheels. Also have a MC SS steering wheel. New tires front & rear, new rear shocks, all new brake lines. Interior is excellent. All gauges work. This wagon is as close to an original 4 speed car as you can get. I know I've forgotten a lot of things, so ask questions. All sales final, no returns. Hot rod, street rod, muscle car, drag car.
We've already seen leaked specs and potential spy shots, but the refreshed 2014 Chevrolet Camaro will make its official debut at the New York Auto Show in a few weeks.
Besides a tweaked exterior and the possibility of a high-output LS7 under the hood, we really don't know much else about the 2014 Camaro, but here's hoping for an improved interior, too.
In addition to the refreshed Camaro, Chevrolet will also be showing off the recently introduced Chevrolet SS, making its debut on the auto show circuit, and we'll also get our first look at the C7 Corvette coupe and convertible side-by-side.
As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
For the 2015-model-year, Chevrolet introduces Valet Mode for the Corvette, an enhancement to the Performance Data Recorder (PDR) already available and to your peace of mind. The PDR already captures 720p HD video with a windshield-mounted camera, records interior audio with a cabin microphone and gathers telemetry data using GPS, saving the data to an SD card in the glovebox. You can then watch your track-day antics with various information overlays on the center console screen.
Valet Mode will let you hit 'Replay' when your car gets pulled up front smelling vaguely of fricasseed clutch. Turned on by entering a four-digit code, it also locks the interior storage spaces and turns off the infotainment system. It can't be turned off until the code is re-entered. There's a press release below with more information as well as a video that explains how it works, with the obligatory dig at the 'Vette's biggest foe.
