Waterloo, Iowa, United States

This 1967 Chevelle Malibu has been owned by the same family for the past 23 years & has been meticulously maintained. The owners are dear friends and I'm listing it for them. I will describe the Chevelle best I can and get answers to any questions the actual mileage is unknown.

The Chevelle is an older restoration that can still win awards at local car shows & cruises. The paint is15yrs old and has a great shine, no scratches, or dents and the exterior badging has been shaved & gives no clue to the detailed Big Block 454 (bored .030) waiting under the hood (4000 miles on rebuild) The Engine has a Mild Cam, Headers, GM HEI, Holley 650cfm, & nice exhaust  system. Available to the buyer is the detail sheet from the Engine Builder

The 454 is Backed by a 350 Hydramatic Transmission with a 2500 Stall Speed Convertor & 12 Bolt Posi-Traction Rear End with 3.31 gears. There is no shortage of power to the GM 15x7 Rally wheels that lend to the old school “Sleeper” theme

The Chevelle has factory power drum brakes, Repairs have been made to the Drivers Front & Rear Floor & Passenger Front Floor.  The owner believes the trunk pan is original and in good shape. The trunk is finished with side panels & carpet that is in great condition but glued so I can't see if the trunk floor

The Chevelle has custom Interior that is in excellent condition includes: Bucket Seats, B&M Floor Shifter, & Nice Headliner. All glass is in excellent condition other details include re-chromed bumpers front & rear and new replacement grille and Headlight Surrounds & new under Trunk Trim. A couple items that would need attention are the car has no horns, recently the speedometer stuck at 55mph, & there is no neutral safety switch. I've tried to give as much info as possible but I'm sure there are questions so feel free to ask. In closing, It's time for the Chevelle to go to a new home where someone can enjoy her as much as Merry & Craig. Bid with confidence and to schedule an inspection please call Craig at 319.296.2041

UPDATE: 9.20.14 The Buy It Now Has Been Lowered To 20K & The Reserve Is Considerably Lower Than Buy It Now, Don't Miss Out On A Great Car

Are you the 2014 Corvette Grand Sport?

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

When are stripes more than just stripes? Follow up question: Is the product development team at Chevrolet really cocky enough to hide the next C7 Corvette variant in plain sight? This very recently spotted, and ostensibly obscured C7 asks a lot more questions than it answers, but there's at least some evidence to support that it might be the next Corvette Grand Sport.
The first and most obvious tip-off that something is up with this 'Vette revolves around those silver stripes. Obviously the stripes themselves don't necessarily denote a new model. However, when Chevy recently launched its "colorizer" website for the Stingray, there was no provision made for racing stripes - solid colors only.
Grand Sport exhibit number two is actually an incriminating lack of badges. The production Corvettes we've seen to date have all carried Stingray badges on their fenders, just behind the vent. The car seen in these images has no such badges, which is an intriguing omission on an car that looks like a production-spec vehicle otherwise.

New Chevrolet Silverado to be revealed on Facebook on Thursday

Tue, 11 Dec 2012

There's not much to see here, but if you're one of those waiting for the reveal of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, above is the teaser image that Chevrolet posted on its Facebook page. We've seen the truck in form-fitting camo before, and even less can be made out here beyond those seriously punchy Silverado-esque fenders and the knowledge that the projector-beam headlamps teased previously do indeed work. We'll have to wait until Thursday for a full perusal of the "bold exterior design" and "careful attention given to every detail" we've been promised.
Gathering intel and rumors, magnesium and aluminum contribute to the Silverado's weight loss plan, the purported "High Country" top-tier trim will contribute to luxury pickup truck competition and profit margins and the next-generation small-block V8 will contribute to improved fuel economy. On the engine note, there have been rumors of available V6 engines, and when Facebook user John Jones asked "Where's your answer to that EcoBoost Chevy?", the Bowtie replied "stay tuned on the 13th. We think you'll be pleased...".
Along with the "Raise the Bar" tag, Chevrolet says of the Silverado, "You asked, we delivered." You can watch the reveal live on Chevrolet's Facebook page at 9:30 am EST, this Thursday, December 13. The GMC Sierra 1500 will also be there, and we'll see both in person at the Detroit Auto Show in January.

Silverado HD, Touareg V10 TDI face off in diesel tug-of-war

Sun, 30 Dec 2012

A couple weeks ago, we watched a Chevrolet Silverado get dominated by a Dodge Ram Heavy Duty in a fullsize pickup tug-of-war, but in that truck's defense, Chevy's Vortec gas engine was no match for the torquey Cummins turbo diesel. For our next round of vehicular tug-of-war, a Duramax-powered Silverado HD takes on Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDI.
Now, on paper, putting the Duramax V8's 365 horsepower and 660 pound-feet of torque up against the V10's 310 hp and 553 lb-ft looks like an easy win for the Bowtie, but unfortunately, this battle has a similar result as the Dodge versus Chevy video, with the Silverado smoking its tires trying to move forward as it gets pulled backwards. Put another way: YouTube 2, Chevy Silverado 0.
It just goes to show, though, that big tires, bolt-on fender flares and goofy smoke stacks don't improve your towing abilities. Besides, what did the Silverado driver expect when the Touareg V10 TDI has towed a Boeing 747 in the past?
