Year:1967 Mileage:0

Van Buren, Arkansas, United States

I have decided to sell my 1967 Chevelle Malibu. I purchased this car 7 years ago from some friends who had been using it for drag racing. Unfortunately, I was already building a 1971 Camaro at the time, and therefore started restoring this car second. At the time, it was actually a 1966 Chevelle body that they had chopped up pretty good,  so i purchased the car and set out to build a pro street show car. The guys at Speed equipment World set to work on the frame as we removed the body. Every part that will be mentioned  is brand new, unless noted by an *. A list of the parts are included below.    After doing some work on the frame we fitted the car back to body {the black primered body is the original 66}. After a couple of years i got the chance to buy a really nice, complete 67 rolling chassis {lite gray primer}.  When we were ready to perform the body swap, I disassembled the car once again and painted the frame ,motor, transmission, all linkages and rear end PPG Vibrance collection  Midnight Sapphire. This car has had everything built the right way as opposed to my spelling. Thank you for you consideration, I will be happy to answer any questions. I reserve the right to remove this car from auction at any time as it is advertised locally as well. Email dubsmith3@gmail.com I have pictures of build from start till current.

GM recalling nearly 4,000 vehicles over airbag concerns

Thu, 31 Jan 2013

Four different General Motors vehicles from the 2012 model year are being recalled over a potential airbag issue. The driver's side airbag shorting bar in the 2012 Buick Verano and 2012 Chevrolet Camaro, Cruze and Sonic might make contact with the airbag terminals, even during a crash. If so, the airbag won't deploy when it should, possibly increasing injury to the driver.
The recall is expected to begin on February 13 for the 3,896 units that might be affected. GM will notify owners who can then take their vehicles to dealers to have the airbag coil replaced. A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration below has more info.

Experimental mid-engine XP-819 Corvette going up for auction

Sun, 17 Feb 2013

It seems to be commonplace that when a new Corvette is in development, rumors swirl about a possible mid-engine layout. As is the case of Chevy's most recent C7 Corvette, these rumors never pan out.
In any case, the idea for a 'Vette with an engine mounted behind the driver can probably all be traced back to a single car, the 1964 XP-819 prototype. Built as an "engineering exercise" back in 1964, the prototype was designed with a rear-mounted engine. History tells us that the idea of a rear-engine Corvette fizzled, and the XP-819 was eventually cut up into pieces and stored at a shop in Daytona Beach, FL.
After sitting for untold years, a restoration project started on the car, and while it isn't yet fully completed, the current owner of the car, Mid America Motorworks, will have the car on display at the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance as a "driveable chassis" with hopes of having a fully completed car ready to bring to next year's show.

Pure Vision Design TT Camaro has 1,400 reasons to want it

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

We've talked about Pure Vision Design before, a California-based company that made waves at last year's SEMA show with its Martini-liveried, Indy-car-powered Ford Mustang. That same car later starred in a Petrolicious video we showed you just a few weeks back. The company's latest creation is a menacing car it calls the Pure Vision Design TT Camaro. Based on a 1972 model, this car shares the Martini Mustang's clean styling and obsession with details.
Unlike the Mustang, which draws its power from a mid-60s Lotus-Ford Indycar engine, the "TT" in this Camaro's name implies something far more potent. The Nelson Racing Engines 427-cubic-inch V8 has been fitted with a pair of turbochargers, with a claimed output of 1,400 horsepower. That's almost 1,000 more than the Martini Mustang.
A six-speed Magnum transmission dispatches that power to the ground, while Pirelli PZero tires are tasked with (somehow) trying to grip the road. Baer brakes hide behind those HRE rims, while JRI coilovers and HyperTech springs bless the Camaro with some degree of competency in the bends.
