1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Ss, Custom Show Car! Less Than 1k Miles On Engine on 2040-cars

US $33,995.00
Year:1964 Mileage:66000
Location:

THIS LISTING IS FOR A 1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS Coupe. I got this car as a 16th birthday present but it didn't look or run anything like it does now! Im 31 yrs old now so I have had it for 15 + years.

my computer froze while i was doing the listing so i apologize if the description is all jumbled up.

BUT AS I WAS SAYING , I'VE HAD THIS CAR FOR 15 YEARS.  I USED TO DRIVE IT FAIRLY OFTEN WHEN I WAS YOUNGER BUT I PUT A BRAND NEW ENGINE IN AT LEAST 8 YEARS AGO AND HAVE ONLY PUT ABOUT A THOUSAND MILES ON IT, SO THAT SHOULD TELL YOU HOW MUCH I DRIVE IT.

THIS CAR UNDER WENT A $6000 TOTAL BODYWORK OVERHAUL,  THEN A $9500 PAINT JOB.  ALL OF THE GRAPHICS THAT YOU SEE ARE ALL HAND PAINTED! THEY ARE NOT VINYL GRAPHICS!  HAS 20" RIMS IN REAR WITH 18" RIMS IN FRONT.  NITTO TIRES WITH NEARLY ALL TREAD LEFT.  THE MOTOR IS A 350/350.  THE ONLY THING I REALLY DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE CAR IS THE GEAR RATIO IN THE REAR.  I CAN CRUISE AT 70 MPH WITHOUT HAVING RPMS THAT HIGH.  NEVER RACED OR BEAT ON THIS CAR( SO NO, I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT WOULD DO IN THE QUARTER MILE OR ITS TOP SPEED)  BUT I CAN TELL YOU IT IS A VERY LIGHT CAR WITH A LOT OF POWER.  FULLY TINTED, ALL FOUR WINDOWS ROLL DOWN COMPLETELY TO GIVE IT THAT REALLY NICE COUPE LOOK.  GREAT IN THE SUMMER FOR AIR FLOW.  DOES NOT HAVE A.C, POWER WINDOWS, POWER STEERING,  OR POWER BRAKES ( NEVER REALLY FELT THE NEED AND IT DOES ADD A LOT OF WEIGHT, HANDLES GREAT WITHOUT IT)

THE INTERIOR IS IN GREAT SHAPE.  CENTER PIECE COULD USE A NEW PAINT JOB OR A CUSTOM PIECE BUILT AROUND THE SHIFTER WOULD REALLY LOOK NICE.  HAS ORIGINAL BENCH SEAT IN REAR.  HAS CORBIAU RACING SEATS (ADJUSTABLE) IN FRONT WITH 5 POINT RACING HARNESS.  THE CD PLAYER THAT YOU SEE INSTALLED DOES NOT WORK BUT A BRAND NEW PIONEER HEAD UNIT IN THE BOX, (IN PIC) IS INCLUDED.  ALSO A SET OF NEW DOOR SPEAKERS IS INCLUDED, AND A PAIR OF PIONEER 6X9 SPEAKERS THAT I HAD MOUNTED ON BACK WINDOW SILL ARE ALSO INCLUDED. (WHICH I MEANT TO COUNTERSINK INTO WINDOW SILL, BUT NEVER HAD TIME)   HAS AN AFTERMARKET STEERING WHEEL AND PEDAL COVERS.  I ALSO HAVE A BRAND NEW SET OF DOOR HANDLES WHICH ARE INCLUDED BUT NOT INSTALLED.

THE BUMPERS WERE RE-CHROMED A FEW YEARS AGO AND LOOK GREAT!  ALL WINDOW TRIM AND RUBBER IS IN GOOD SHAPE.  THE TRUNK IS WHERE THE SPEAKER BOX IS MOUNTED ( 2 10" SPEAKERS WITH AMPLIFIER)  ABOUT A YEAR AGO I STRIPPED OUT ALL THE OLD CARPET AND PREPPED THE TRUNK FOR A FULL OVER HAUL BUT NEVER FINISHED IT. I HAVE A ROLL OF BLACK CARPET AND EVEN A NEW ROLL OF DYNAMAT BRAND SOUND BARRIER MATTING, WHICH IS INCLUDED.

THE CAR RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT.  HAS DRUM BRAKES IN REAR AND DISC IN FRONT.  WITH A FEW HOURS OF WORK THE CAR WOULD BE COMPLETELY FINISHED!  JUST DON'T HAVE THE TIME TO DO IT, LET ALONE DRIVE IT, WHICH IS THE FUN PART!!!  AND EVEN WITH THE THINGS THAT AREN'T DONE BOTH CAR SHOWS I ENTERED I WON FIRST PLACE ! IN BOTH! DON'T MISS THIS ONE!!!

SINCE THIS CAR IS OVER 50 YEARS OLD INSURANCE IS RIDICULOUS CHEAP.  CAR IS SOLD AS IS WITH NO WARRANTY.  IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE MORE PICTURES PLEASE JUST ASK.

This is your 2014 Chevrolet SS

Sat, 16 Feb 2013

Think you've waited long enough for this? If so, then you'll want to savor the high-res photos we've so far been given of the 2014 Chevrolet SS, the first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan from The Bowtie in 17 years.
We all know its our version of the brand new VF-model Holden Commodore, but what's under the hood that earns the appellation "performance?" A 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine producing 415 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. That's 35 hp and lb-ft less than the same engine is expected to produce in the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. Chevrolet says the sedan will get from 0-to-60 miles per hour "in about five seconds."
Shifting comes courtesy of a six-speed automatic with paddles on the steering wheel, while stopping arrive via four-piston Brembo calipers up front, a single sliding piston in back. The forged aluminum wheels are 19-inchers all around, each set supporting right around 50 percent of the sedan's weight, and the aluminum hood and trunk are meant to keep the center of gravity low.

NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.

More Corvette Stingray Factoids: Vanishing panel gaps and 26-mpg LT1

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
So, most of what was talked about has been expertly reported already right here on Autoblog. But, looking through our notes again, both Jeuchter and Lee added facts to the buzzing mix.
