Up for bids is a 1963 CANADIAN BUILT Chevrolet Impala.  I'm selling it to make room for my 1961 Cadillac.

This car would be considered by most to be a survivor car.  It has been repainted once, original interior, and under hood is original except for heater hoses, water pump and alternator.  The person from whom I bought it had it for nearly 25 years.  I've put a few thousand miles on it trouble free.  I started it last two weeks ago in sub zero temperatures without a problem.

Everything works on the car except for the clock and the gas gauge.  I have a new sending unit in the trunk, just haven't had the time to install it yet.  Also added is an AM/FM radio with auxiliary input mated to a pair of kick panel speakers.  The original panels and radio are in the trunk if you so choose to put it back to original.

It could use a couple of new tires on the back, but other than that, she's ready to cruise.  Passed safety inspection in September without issue.  Get in and drive anywhere.

The car is located 30 minutes from the Maine border at Calais.

These cars are headed to the Great Crusher In The Sky

Fri, 24 Aug 2012

It happens every year. We bid adieu to some cars and trucks that will be missed, and say good riddance to others wondering how they stayed around so long. Whether they're being killed off for slow sales or due to a new product coming along to replace them, the list of vehicles being discontinued after 2012 is surprisingly long and diverse.
CNN Money has compiled a list of departing vehicles, to which we've added a few more of our own. In the slow sales column, cars like the Lexus HS 250h, Mercedes-Benz R-Class and the full Maybach lineup appear, while the Ford Escape Hybrid, Mazda CX-7 and Hyundai Veracruz are all having their gaps filled with more modern and more fuel-efficient alternatives. Obvious exceptions to the rule include models that still sell in decent numbers like the Jeep Liberty and the Chrysler Town & Country (which will eventually be replaced by a crossover-like vehicle).
Check out our gallery of discontinued cars above, then scroll down for more information.

Expect greater differentiation in GM's next-generation SUVs

Thu, 03 Jan 2013

General Motors says its next-generation Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade models will offer shoppers improved interior differentiation. Car and Driver recently caught up with Chris Hilts, GM's creative manager of interior design, who said that the cabins will all feature unique instrument panels, consoles, center stacks and switchgear moving forward. Apparently GM is now aware that consumers may be bothered by the fact that today's $85,000 Escalade has effectively the same cabin as a $45,000 Tahoe. Hilts says SUV buyers want more refinement than their pickup purchasing counterparts - and those same buyers also want their SUVs to have more exterior differentiation between the company's Silverado and Sierra pickup lines. Shocking.
That all sounds good to us, but we've heard this song and dance before. GM made big waves about how different the new-for-2013 Silverado and Sierra would look from each other, but judging by what we've seen so far, GM's stylists are painting in shades rather than with the full spectrum.
