FOR SALE:
1995 Chevrolet Impala SS
LT1 V-8 (C4 Corvette motor) accompanied by an automatic transmission
One owner with 46,XXX ACTUAL miles as displayed on the digital dash.
Dark Cherry exterior with grey LEATHER interior; leather was an option.
Nearly all components all original; the only things that may not satisfy complete originality are expendables such as the battery.
It has absolutely no aftermarket parts added. This means no performance parts either.
This Impala has all of the options that were available for order in 1995 and the final price, as displayed on the window sticker, comes in right at $25,000.
I have the original window sticker and nearly all of the original literature that accompanied the car from new. The window sticker shows that the car was delivered to Hudson Chevrolet in Providence, KY (no longer in business), which is where the car was purchased new. The Hudson Chevrolet dealer sticker still exists on the deck lid of the car.
The interior of the car is nearly perfect and exists as close to new as can reasonably be expected. The car has the factory CD player that still works perfect. The air blows cold. The power adjustments on the seats still work as they should; the power mirror adjustments still work as they should as well. The leather displays little to no wear in the front seats and absolutely no wear in the rear seats. The original floor mats are still present and in great condition.
The exterior IS NOT perfect but it is in exceptional condition. There are very minor blemishes in random positions on the car which should be expected for a car that is 17 years old. The tires are in good shape and WILL NOT need to be replaced anytime in the near future.

The car or the title will not leave my possession until I have received a guaranteed form of payment.  I am willing to accomodate any shipping arrangements that you may make at your own expense.

If I have left a detail out that you are interested in knowing, please contact me.  I can be reached by phone at (270) 748-1882!

Expect greater differentiation in GM's next-generation SUVs

Thu, 03 Jan 2013

General Motors says its next-generation Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade models will offer shoppers improved interior differentiation. Car and Driver recently caught up with Chris Hilts, GM's creative manager of interior design, who said that the cabins will all feature unique instrument panels, consoles, center stacks and switchgear moving forward. Apparently GM is now aware that consumers may be bothered by the fact that today's $85,000 Escalade has effectively the same cabin as a $45,000 Tahoe. Hilts says SUV buyers want more refinement than their pickup purchasing counterparts - and those same buyers also want their SUVs to have more exterior differentiation between the company's Silverado and Sierra pickup lines. Shocking.
That all sounds good to us, but we've heard this song and dance before. GM made big waves about how different the new-for-2013 Silverado and Sierra would look from each other, but judging by what we've seen so far, GM's stylists are painting in shades rather than with the full spectrum. Chevy SS prototype spotted wearing Pontiac G8 clothes

Tue, 28 Aug 2012

Do not adjust your computer screen, you are not seeing the rebirth of the Pontiac brand. General Motors has chosen to use a G8 to disguise a test mule for the latest prototype of the forthcoming Chevrolet SS. The G8 was closely related to the Holden Commodore and Vauxhall VXR, the platform upon which the new Chevrolet performance model will be based. It should come as little surprise, then, that GM has opted to use the cladding from the former G8.
Thought the front clip of this mule is pure Pontiac, note the vents immediately behind the front wheel. That is a distinctive design hallmark of the Vauxhall VXR. Also note that this vehicle is right-hand drive, as the Holden and its Chevy counterpart will be very closely related. That likely includes potential drivetrains. The spy photos of this mule also reveal very wide rear tires, and rear wheels that do not match the fronts.

Why the Corvette is Chevrolet's billion-dollar baby

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Edmunds has worked up a piece that tries to figure out just how much the global Chevrolet Corvette economy is worth, a spitballed guesstimate putting the number at more than $2.5 billion with the proviso that the number is probably low. It starts by taking Corvette's new car sales of 14,132 units last year, which would equate to $714,725,900 (including destination) assuming ever car sold was a base coupe with no options. In the final tally, a little extra padding gets that number up to $750,000,000.
But that's not all. Consider this: Many of the almost 1.4 million Corvettes produced over the model's history are still on the road. There are new parts being produced and aftermarket companies like Mid-America Motorworks deaing business, that single Illinois company doing more than $40 million a year in sales. There are the Corvette events large and small, restorers who do nothing but Corvettes, salvage yards that deal only in used Corvette parts and the Corvette magazines where owners find all this stuff.
And then there are the Corvette-themed tchotchkes, every single one of which provides a tiny contribution to the huge licensing royalties that General Motors collects every year. The article admits there's no way to come to an accurate number, but it just goes to show how valuable one specific model can be to a company.
