Up for auction is a 1976 Chevy impala 4 door post car. Has a 350 engine with 58,211 miles, Runs and drives good. Very sound car, NO noises or smoke. I just changed the oil and the old oil looked new. The body has had a little work done to in and has been put in primer. Little spots on rear quarters lower front fenders have been repaired. Has one dent in the right rear corner. The vinyl top has been removed and the previous owner painted the roof black. The interior is decent. Needs rear carpet, dash pad, has a couple cigarette burns in front seat. Has a 6in crack in front window. Over all pretty decent car to fix up and not needing a lot. I bought this car from the family that bought it new. Like I say it only has 58,000 miles and make good driving project. I have a set of aluminum racing wheels and like new tires to throw in on deal also. This car is drivable. So up to you to ship or decide to drive home. I am selling as is. Please feel free to ask questions. 500.00 deposit in 24 hrs is required to winning bidder. If you have less then 25 feedback you need permission to bid or I will delete your bid. Thanks

Hurst Edition Trans Am proves the Screaming Chicken will rise from the ashes
Wed, 31 Oct 2012It seems the Pontiac Trans Am steadfastly refuses to die. Ever since Chevrolet was granted a retrofied Camaro to compete with the Ford Mustang, Pontiac lovers have lamented the loss of this 1970s icon. And, looking at the Hurst Edition from Trans Am Depot, shown here at the 2012 SEMA Show, may explain what all the fuss is about.
It's not going to appeal to everyone's muscle-car tastes, but there's certainly room for a brash-and-bold black-and-gold Special Edition in many a Trans Am lover's garage. After all, if you want the keys to a custom pony car, you'll certainly get noticed in this one. If this scheme isn't your bag,, you can alternatively order your Hurst Edition in white and gold or silver and black. Oh, and don't forget a color-coordinated Screaming Chicken on the hood.
No matter which way you choose to go, your inner Burt Reynolds will appreciate the Eibach suspension kit, forged wheels with Pirelli PZero tires, functional shaker hood, fender air extractors, rear spoiler and, of course, a Hurst shifter inside. The interior is emblazoned with all manner of special touches, including a Hurst dash plate and T/A stitching on the Katzkin two-tone leather seats.
Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system works
Fri, 22 Mar 2013When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.
