This is my 1966 Impala Sport Coupe. It started life as a base model, 283/powerglide/10 bolt car. Now- 427 Big Block, M-20 4-speed, 12 Bolt Posi rear with 3.73's. Now it's fun.  There are some parts taken from various Super Sport cars I've picked apart over the years. Bucket Seats, 4 speed pedals, grill emblem, trunk emblem, and I have Super Sport fenders if the high bidder would like them.  The car was purchased by me about 4 years ago from a guy who had owned it since the 80's. He bought it from the original lady owner/family friend who mostly drove it in the summer.   He did the body work, lower quarters and some fender work. Neither of us ever got to painting it. He kept it stored all those years in a wood stove heated garage, and since I've owned it, it's never been in the rain. Very solid car, rust free floors, trunk, rockers, etc... I have and will include all of the exterior trim for the car, and it's in very nice shape.  I made the Hood for it and it's the one on the car now. It's got the bumps from a 67 SS Chevelle grafted onto a stock hood, gives it some Hot Rod flavor. The stock tan hood is included too.  The interior shows its age and could use freshening up. The seats are marina blue 66 impala SS buckets that have seat covers on them, the rest of the fawn interior appears to be original. Front shocks are new, springs are for a small block- it sits low, looks mean.  New urethane sway bar bushings. It has power steering, no power brakes. 4 wheel drum, however, I will be including a set of spindles from a 73 Corvette. These are a great alternative to China crap when converting to disk brakes. Look it up, it's being done and the calipers, pads, rotors etc... can all be had from Napa. The wheels are 15x7 and 15x8 Corvette Ralley wheels, 255/60/15 fronts, 275/60/15 rears, Goodyear Eagle GT-II tires with low miles.  The pics shown with the SS emblems are how it is now, the pics without are to show the stock hood, really not much difference.

Engine: 1970 402 Big Block Chevy bored to 4.25 with Keith Black pistons 9.75:1  Crank turned 10/10, new bearings throughout. Heads are a set of 1970 820's oval port, open chamber that have had a competition valve job, new parts installed and new comp springs. The valve train is a Comp Thumper set up, Edelbrock performer intake, Holley 750 Street HP carb (new/no choke), Crane Electronic ignition module, MSD 8.8mm wires, Hooker Super Comp. Headers, Pypes 2 1/2" Dual Exhaust.  Also has a Griffin aluminum radiator, 2 speed electric fan, New 75 amp alternator, solid state regulator, and Bosch starter.  Interstate battery too.

Transmission: 1973 Muncie M-20 4 speed. 26 spline input, large (turbo 400) output, Hurst completion plus shifter, Ram Billet flywheel and 11" Clutch. Severe Duty U-joints.  The front seal has a slight leak, and the 2nd gear synchro gets touchy. Sometimes it shifts perfect into 2nd, other times it may grind.

Rear End: 1965 Impala 12 Bolt  2 upper control arms, 2 lower control arms- Must have for horsepower. All new urethane bushings when it was installed, new shocks, new coil springs, breaks gone through.  Detroit Tru-Trac Posi unit with a new Richmond 3.73 Gear set all professionally set up.

This car is a fast, and it cruises well. Check out the pictures and ask questions. If your local, inspections are ok. Serious about selling, you should be just as serious about buying. Sold As is / Where is.  $500.00 Non-Refundable deposit due within 24 hours of auctions end. I'd like to see the car picked up within 10 days of auctions end unless other arrangements are made. Shipping is on you, but I will assist with getting it on a truck and on it's way. This is a solid car with a reasonable reserve. I've got other interests and need the space. Good Luck

Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]

Mon, 18 Mar 2013

Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. You can check out the brief press release below for more information, or head over to the Callaway site to plunk down a deposit - but before you do, we want to know... do you find this C7 wagon interesting? Vote in our poll below, then feel free to leave a few lines in Comments.

Pushing Back: GM expanding Chevrolet into Korea, Daewoo out

Thu, 29 Apr 2010

Chevrolet Camaro goes to South Korea - Click above for high-res image
General Motors decided several years ago to begin heavily promoting Chevrolet as its global mainstream brand even in markets where its existing brands like Opel and Daewoo were a dominant force. Today, at the Busan Motor Show in South Korea, GM Daewoo president Mike Arcamone announced that the Camaro would lead the way in GM's efforts to market Chevrolet in South Korea.
For now at least Chevrolet and Daewoo-branded vehicles will coexist in the Korean market. However, while we were in China last week GM officials told us that the Daewoo brand, which has been somewhat tainted by past quality issues, would eventually be phased out in favor of Chevrolet. When the new Aveo launches next year it will likely be badged as a Chevrolet even though GM Daewoo is in charge of engineering the car.

2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra debut all-new designs, three new engines

Thu, 13 Dec 2012

General Motors has finally dropped the curtain on the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra. Both trucks have undergone substantial revisions with updated versions of the company's 4.3-liter V6, 5.3-liter V8 and 6.2-liter V8 engines. In a shot across the bows of both Ford and Chrysler, GM says it won't use a V6 engine adapted from passenger car applications. Instead, it developed the 4.3-liter engine based on its proven truck-duty architecture.
All three mills will boast direct injection fuel systems as well as a new cylinder head design. Combined with a revised piston, the new engines feature a smaller combustion chamber with a compression ratio of 11:1 or higher depending on the application. Cylinder deactivation and continuously variable valve timing are all part of the recipe, and each engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission with auto grade breaking. So far, no fuel economy or horsepower figures have been released, though GM says the new engines will best their predecessors in both areas.
Outside, the trucks feature a number of enhancements to reduce drag and wind noise, and GM claims both the Silverado and Sierra will offer buyers some of the quietest cabins in the class. Extended cab models now feature front-hinged rear doors to allow easier access to the back passenger area, and Crew Cab buyers can now select between a five-foot, eight-inch bed or a six-foot, six-inch bed. Buyers with a mind toward going off road will also rejoice in the return of the Z71 package, complete with Rancho shocks, front tow hooks and additional under-body protection.
