1964 Impala Ss Recent Restoration on 2040-cars
Brunswick, Georgia, United States
I have owned this car since the mid 1980's and I know the car from new since the owner was my neighbor. I purchased it from a friend of mine. It has undergone a frame off restoration to clean the bottom of the car and add engine and transmission to frame. In the pictures of the floor pan that is NOT rust it is the original glue used to hold the carpet jute in place. There were a couple pin holes in the passenger side that were too small to replace the floor so I used a little seam sealer to cover those. It has only been driven "two" miles since I restored it and that was to gas it up. I then put it in my collection and that is where it has been since. I replaced all of the component parts of the underside including brakes, bushings, universal joints, center bearing, new bumpers and grille, etc. I stripped the body to bare metal and epoxy primed it and painted it with DuPont single stage original Goldwood yellow. All panels are original to the car. I rebuilt the original numbers matching 327 250 HP engine and two speed power glide transmission. I replaced the power steering pump with an updated 605 pump to get rid of the old leak prone original system. The car has new power drum brakes. The complete interior was replaced with a new reproduction kit and a new padded dash. It looks like show room. NO TRADES. I have too many cars and after 40 plus years of restoring old cars I am ready to smell the roses so I want to sell my entire collection of classic Chevrolet's. I have pictures of my restoration if you are serious and wish to see some of those. Do not bid if you have zero feedback unless you contact me first. Too many scam artist out there. I will NOT reveal my reserve price so please don't ask. My car is priced fair so take that into consideration please. This car is sold as is. This large print is for my fellow baby boomers.

Chevrolet Malibu gets across-the-board price cuts, hopes to dig out of slump
Mon, 11 Feb 2013To say that things aren't going well for the newly redesigned 2013 Chevrolet Malibu is a pretty sizable understatement. Reports have been swirling about the Malibu getting an emergency design refresh, less than a year after its introduction, as well as having its production at the Fairfax Assembly Plant halted twice already this year for excessive inventory. Now, Motor Trend is reporting that the midsize sedan will be receiving price drops across the board ranging from $300 on a number of models up to $770 on the 1LT trim; offsetting some of MSRP drop, though, the destination charge has increased from $760 to $810.
Without destination, the entry-level Malibu LS now starts at $21,995, which is still about $300 more than a Honda Accord and about $300 less than the segment's top-selling Toyota Camry. This new pricing also drops the price of the Eco, 2LT and 3LT trims by $300. The LTZ trim has dropped by $415, meaning that the Malibu's top dog now starts at just under $30,000, excluding destination.
Here are the new starting prices for all eight of the Malibu trim levels compared to the previous prices for the 2013 model year (including destination):
Man surprises girlfriend with C7 Corvette
Mon, 07 Oct 2013How would you react if someone just showed up at your place of work with a new, 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, complete with all the trimmings? While a lot of us would likely be flipping out over the still rare sports car, it's a fair bet many more of us would be responding like Pattie here, whose boyfriend stopped by her work to show her her new C7.
Speechless and shocked as she seems, she does end up taking it out for a drive, despite claiming she wasn't really outfitted to handle the car's seven-speed manual transmission at the time. From the sound of the video, we got the impression that she knew the car was coming, just not that it was anywhere near ready for delivery. It also, as Pattie says, seems like her boyfriend is more excited about the car than she (which, can we blame him?). Take a look down below for the full video of this C7 Stingray delivery.
GM takes heat for aborted Silverado riff on 'Boston Strong' at World Series
Thu, 31 Oct 2013During game five of the World Series, Chevrolet was set to do a spot of marketing for the 2014 Silverado - fans at Busch Stadium in St. Louis would hold up placards that spelled out the words "Silverado Strong," a theme that Chevy has been promoting since the Silverado's launch with the song "Strong," by Will Hoge. The St. Louis promo was ultimately called off, though, over concerns that it'd be insensitive to the visiting Boston Red Sox. (You can see the image of what the stunt would have looked like above, courtesy of one timely Reddit user.)
Now, the Busch Stadium stunt might not have been a big deal, had the St. Louis Cardinals not been playing the Boston Red Sox. Following the tragic events in Boston during the marathon back in April, the phrase "Boston Strong" gained traction among the city's citizens, especially at sporting events. So, you can imagine that Chevy's appropriation of the phrase might not sit well with some fans.
The stunt was ultimately shelved after images of the signs went viral before the game, leading to a bit of a public backlash. Chevy spokesperson Michael Albano said of the promo that it was meant to show the brand's "commitment to baseball and its fans." But after the images went viral, the company "realized there was the possibility that we may offend some of the very fans we were trying to honor," Albano told Automotive News via email.
