*****1961 Impala Resto Mod*****

Up for auction is one bad bubble top!  This restomod 61 Impala has undergone a nut and bolt restoration with no expense spared.  This car gets tons of attention and constant compliments everywhere it goes.  Bubbletops are hot and this is your opportunity to own a great example.

This car has just the right amount of modern upgrades and touches, but still retains alot of originality as well.   It’s a great investment grade car that is sure to appreciate in the years to come.  Its never going out of style and the demand for 61 hard tops isn’t going away any time soon!

Exterior:

The car was refinished in its original color combination and looks incredible.  The paint was professionally done with no corners cut and it shows! The car was completely disassembled and taken down to bare metal.  It was sprayed with the front clip off, glass out, and all parts painted separate.  The firewall was striped and painted.  The paint is very slick and has been sanded and buffed to a mirror finish.  The car is nice and straight down the sides.  The paint and body were done correctly with no expense spared.  This car will look as good in 20 years from now as it does today if taken care of!

This is not your average restored 61.  This is a one repaint rust free car and retains all its original body parts.  This is not a pieced together, patched up, previously rusty car that came from a field.  This was a very dry solid and original survivor car prior to the restoration.  When you start with a good car, they turn out that much better in the end!

The doors open and close extremely well! Everything fits and lines up nicely.  All the body gaps look good. The windows line up nice and the car seals up really well.

The original front and rear bumpers were rechromed.  The door handles, fender ornaments, hood emblem, trunk emblem, side emblems, side moldings, taillight bezels, headlight bezels, ect… were replaced with new.

Interior:

The interior of this bubbletop looks as good as the outside of the car!  It was redone to original and everything was replaced.  The fit is very nice.  The seats, door panels, carpet, kick panels, package tray, dash emblem, dash trim, glove box, dash ash tray, shift lever, turn signal lever, door handles, window cranks, rear ash trays, speaker emblem, etc, were all replaced.  The steering wheel was restored and looks great.  The horn buttons were replated, new emblem, new chrome face bar, new chrome divider rings, and it was shit with base clear.

The front windshield is the original easy eye tinted glass and is in very nice shape!  The vent windows and door glass are new along with the chrome window frames.

The car has working lights, turn signals, horn, speedometer, fuel gauge, temp gauge, wipers, cigarette lighter, heater, dash lights, interior lights, etc.

Drivetrain:

Under the hood you will find the original number matching powerpack 283.  It has been completely rebuilt and upgraded for better performance and reliability.  It has new polished intake, Edelbrock carb, billet HEI distributer, 110 amp alternator, billet specialties pulleys, Lokar cables, electric choke, ceramic coated headers, new valve covers, air cleaner, all new belts, hoses, Taylor wires, electric fan, new radiator,  etc.  Basically every single piece and part under the hood is new.  Lots of time in detail work making the engine compartment look as clean as it does.  No painted over bolts, no messy wiring, everything is nice and clean!  The motor runs very well! It doesn’t knock, tick, leak, smoke, or do anything funny. It has plenty of power and sounds great!  The entire exhaust system is brand new as well.   The transmission is a freshly rebuilt late model aluminum powerglide.  It shifts perfectly, downshifts as it should, and doesn’t leak!

As you can see in the pics, the font frame rails were stripped bare and put back together with all new and upgraded parts and hardware.

This was a very thorough restoration. Every clip, seal, nut, washer, bearing, etc on the entire car has been gone through.  Everything mechanical on the car has been replaced or rebuilt.

This car has power steering and steers very nice.

Brakes:

The brakes were upgraded to massive 14” c6 zo6 rotors with 4 piston calipers.  The big brakes are powered by a Wilwood dual reservoir master cylinder with an adjustable proportioning valve. All new stainless steel brake lines were addes along with steel braided hoses.

Suspension:

The car gets it aggressive stance from a fully adjustable Accuair air ride suspension.  This is not a cheap air ride kit. It has been professionally installed and everything was done nice and clean.   It is has an Accuair digital ride height controller and can be adjusted on all 4 corners.  There are gauges monitoring each corner mounted in the glove box. All the air ride components are neatly mounted in trunk.  It has tubular upper and lower control arms that look killer and also help improve the ride and handling. All the suspensions components are new.

The wheels and tires are new as well.  They are Esajian Bolts, 18x8.5s in the front and 20x10s in the rear.  They are 2 piece billets that were custom built by Esajian Wheel (www.esajianwheel.com) and fit the car perfect!

This car drives extremely well. Its tight, smooth, rides good, handles good, sounds good, and looks damn good doing it!  It cruise straight down the highway and feels good at 80 mph.  Its very reliable.  I wouldn’t hesitate to get in it and head across the country.  It doesn't leak any fluids and the air suspension is free of leaks.  The car does everything right!

Overall, this is a great car and is going to make someone proud to own it! Its a quality restoration with no corners cut.  The parts on the car are high end parts.  Theres lots of money in the suspension, brakes, wheels, parts under the hood, ect.

I have owned many 61s and am a picky buyer.  I pass on most the cars I look at and search long and hard for the right car.  I spend countless hours searching for and traveling to see cars, to find the right one to create a bad ass car.  If your in the market for a bubbletop and want a good example, look no further.  The hard work is done.  You don’t have to spend the time scouring the country for the right car, I have already done it! Let my knowledge and experience with these cars ensure you are getting a good one!

I have been selling on Ebay for 14 years. And have sold many classic cars and trucks with 100% positive feedback.  I know what I am looking at and know how to accurately describe them.  I have many happy buyers all around the world, and can provide references if needed.

Expect greater differentiation in GM's next-generation SUVs

Thu, 03 Jan 2013

General Motors says its next-generation Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade models will offer shoppers improved interior differentiation. Car and Driver recently caught up with Chris Hilts, GM's creative manager of interior design, who said that the cabins will all feature unique instrument panels, consoles, center stacks and switchgear moving forward. Apparently GM is now aware that consumers may be bothered by the fact that today's $85,000 Escalade has effectively the same cabin as a $45,000 Tahoe. Hilts says SUV buyers want more refinement than their pickup purchasing counterparts - and those same buyers also want their SUVs to have more exterior differentiation between the company's Silverado and Sierra pickup lines. Shocking.
That all sounds good to us, but we've heard this song and dance before. GM made big waves about how different the new-for-2013 Silverado and Sierra would look from each other, but judging by what we've seen so far, GM's stylists are painting in shades rather than with the full spectrum. GM profits threatened by glut of pickups

Wed, 05 Dec 2012

Automotive News reports that General Motors may slash production or ramp up discounts in order to deal with an oversupply of pickup trucks. GM currently has more than double the standard supply of pickups, and the vehicles are threatening to dampen the automaker's profits for 2013. Typically, automakers try to sustain a 60- to 75-day supply of vehicles, but GM is currently loaded with a 139-day supply, as of last month. At the end of November, the automaker was sitting on 245,853 units.
The manufacturer says that it will adjust production accordingly before laying any incentives on the profitable pickups. Even so, there's some concern that the inventory swell could hurt the roll-out of the next-generation Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. GM actually began slowly stepping back production in August, but it's clear the company will take further action as it heads toward the end of the year and into the next. Analysts predict the automaker could reduce pickup manufacturing by nearly half in the first quarter of 2013.
That still may not be enough to keep GM from laying extra cash on the Silverado and GMC Sierra. While the company's incentive spending was down in November compared to the same month in 2011, both the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 saw double-digit percentage increases in sales last month while the Silverado and Sierra numbers slid compared to a year prior. Incentive spending could help move more trucks and add some balance to the GM inventory surge.

2014 Chevrolet C7 Corvette wastes no time zooming into Jay Leno's Garage

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

Where else would you expect the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray to show up first? Although this time it isn't exactly in Jay Leno's Garage, Leno instead playing an away game at Brown's Classic Auto in Scottsdale, Arizona. Nor does Leno drive the car, instead taking an 11-minute walkaround of the new American sports car with General Motors design head Ed Welburn, the same man who recently brought by a string of classic Corvettes to the talk show host's California compound.
It is, admittedly, a love-fest for the American sports car now featuring 450 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque, but one that also features admissions about previous Corvette seats like "they were kinda rough," and the explanation that labeling the coupe "Stingray" means not having to call it "the base Corvette." On top of that, Welburn also explains the proper application of the term "dashboard." You can watch it all in the video below.
