1960 CHEVROLET NOMAD 4 DOOR WAGON
BEAUTIFUL SATEEN SILVER CHEVY NOMAD. THIS IS A TRUE NOMAD, MOST PEOPLE THINK THE NOMAD'S
WERE ONLY MADE 1955-1957 IN 2 DOOR MODELS. THE PACKAGE OFFERED IMPALA TRIM INSIDE AND OUT AND A MUCH LOWER
PRODUCTION NUMBERS THAN THE PARKWOOD AND BROOKWOOD.
THE CAR IS IN AWESOME SHAPE AND HAS BEEN GARAGE KEPT SINCE PURCHASED NEW AT DON ALLEN CHEVROLET IN MIAMI
FLORIDA.THE CAR WAS BUILT BY STREET HEAT IN MELBOURNE FLORIDA. STREET HEAT PURCHASED THE CAR FROM THE SOUTH 40
COLLECTION. THEY REMOVED THE 283CI V8 ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION FOR A COMPLETE DETAIL. AFTER A COMPLETE INSPECTION,
RESEAL, AND DETAIL, THEY REINSTALLED THE ENGINE WITH A NEW 700R4 4 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. A NEW WATER PUMP,
FUEL PUMP, AND STARTER. SOME COMMON UPGRADES WERE MADE TO THE ENGINE NICELY CONCEALED WITHIN THE FACTORY
APPEARANCE. GM C3 CORVETTE LT1 4BBL INTAKE WAS SOURCED, PETRONIX ELECTRIC IGNITION, EDELBROCK CARB AND POWDER
COATED MANIFOLDS. IT RUNS AS GOOD AS IT LOOKS, AND WAS SPOTLESS INTERNALLY. THEY INSTALLED CUSTOM MANDREL DUAL
EXHAUST WHICH EXITS OUT THE REAR THROUGH STAINLESS TIPS. THE NOMAD CRUISES EXCELLENT WITH THE NEW 4 SPEED OVERDRIVE
700R4 TRANSMISSION AT 80 AND IS SMOOTH AND CLEAN. THE NOMAD HAS VINTAGE A/C THAT WORKS GREAT, THE CAR ALSO HAS
HEAT.
THE INTERIOR IS FLAWLESS, THE RED HOUNDS TOOTH IS PERFECT TO COMPLIMENT THE SILVER EXTERIOR. THE GLASS IS ALL IN
AMAZING CONDITION! IT HAS THE RED PEPPERED CARPET WITH FLOOR MATS AND SAFETY BELTS UP FRONT. THE VEHICLE IS
OUTFITTED WITH THE RARE PADDED DASH THAT IS IN GREAT CONDITION. THE CAR HAS A HIDDEN BLUETOOTH STEREO AS WELL.

THE BODY IS IN VERY GOOD SHAPE AND WAS REPAINTED YEARS AGO, I AM NOT SURE SPECIFICALLY WHEN. THERE ARE SOME MINOR
FLAWS HERE AND THERE AND SOME VERY MINIMAL BUBBLING IN THE PAINT IN A FEW SPOTS. THE SATEEN SILVER EXTERIOR COLOR
IS THE ORIGINAL FACTORY COLOR OF THE CAR. THE CAR IS REALLY NICE OVERALL AND STARTS AND DRIVES GREAT! I WOULDN'T
HESITATE FOR A SECOND TO TAKE THIS VEHICLE ON A LONG DISTANCE DRIVE. THIS IS A VERY RARE NICE CLEAN CAR!

Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.

Joe Flacco wins C7 Corvette along with MVP honors

Mon, 04 Feb 2013

As part of a longstanding tradition, the MVP of Super Bowl XLVII, Joe Flacco, quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, was given a new car directly after the game and trophy celebrations. For 2013, that car is a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, and it was presented to Flacco by Rick Flick of Banner Chevrolet, a dealership in New Orleans that was wiped out by Hurricane Katrina in 2005 before returning to prominence as the only Chevy dealer in Orleans Parish.
Last year, Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning took home a 2012 Corvette GS Centennial Edition. Manning also won in 2008, when he selected a Cadillac Escalade Hybrid as his reward. In 2011, quarterback Aaron Rodgers accepted the keys to a Camaro convertible.
Though we're most definitely an auto-obsessed group, we did watch the Big Game along with nearly everyone else in America. And we've gotta say, as if winning the Super Bowl and receiving the Tiffany-designed Pete Rozelle Trophy wasn't enough for the multi-millionaire MVP athletes, a brand-new C7 seems like an awfully generous prize. Chevy monitors drivers' biometrics while experiencing new Corvette Stingray

Fri, 25 Oct 2013

We tell you about what a car is like to drive every day, remarking on throttle response, steering weight and feedback, squat, dive, brake fade and a dozen or more other factors of performance. What we can't tell you, though, is what the car does to us - how its performance impacts us, physically. That's what makes this video series from Chevrolet so darn cool.
The Bow-Tie brand rented out Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, got several (very) different individuals together, strapped a bunch of sensors to their bodies to record biometric data ranging from heart rate to respiration to brain activity, and then handed them keys to the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The results are explained in a series of videos, devoted to each driver, showing how different people react to the Corvette's performance.
If, like your author, you're a nerd for medical science, this is going to be a fascinating set of videos. If not, it's still pretty cool to see how the body of someone with racing experience, like Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, reacts to tracking a car like the Corvette Stingray compared to the owner of legendary Detroit barbecue joint, Slows BBQ. Take a look below for all six videos from the series, or hop over to the Corvette Vimeo channel for the interactive experience, where you can see all the different metrics.
