Chevy Elcamino on 2040-cars
Whitewater, Wisconsin, United States
1966
El Camino This is a
professionally restored 1966 El Camino.
This truck has had a complete ground up, frame off restoration. The color of the truck is Aztec Bronze which
is the correct color match for this vehicle.
It has an original SS front hood and fenders that were add to the truck
to give it that sporty look. The bed
cover was custom made out of aluminum frame work, and is designed to sit inside
the rails of the bed. The trim package
is custom deluxe and has been either replaced, re-chromed or polished to its
original luster. The motor was replaced
with a .030 over 350, demon carb, and an MSD ignition. The transmission is a Muncie M21 four speed. It has the stock exhaust manifolds with dual
2 1/2 ” stainless running from front to back with 3”angle cut tail pipes. The interior has the stock spilt bench seat
which has been professionally reupholstered with original black cloth
material. Also the interior has a full
gauge cluster, tilt steering Colum, and factory 4 speed shifter. The original radio is in the dash but has a
custom mounted stereo built into the glove box.
It also has midrange speakers mounted under the dash, tweeters under the
headliner, and blue thunder speakers behind the seats. This is all powered by amps which are mounted
in a custom box that is built into the trucks bed. The tires are racing profile pro-trac 70’s in
front, and 60’s in the rear and our mounted on centerline style rims. This is a great truck that has had a lot hard
work put into the restoration. I have
learned my passion is in the restoration itself more than the ownership. I want to restore another vehicle so the
selling of this truck will help me achieve that. Thank you for taking the time to look at my
truck and happy bidding. If there are
any questions regarding this truck feel free to call Mike at 608-320-1966. |

Chevy confirms Corvette Stingray Convertible for Geneva
Thu, 07 Feb 2013Want proof that General Motors has increased global ambitions for its 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray? It's staging the world premiere of the model's convertible variant at the Geneva Motor Show early next month.
As previously rumored, the droptop rendered above will debut at the Swiss show, making its first appearance anywhere on March 5. According to Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet, the location makes sense because Corvette "...is an icon that has long been recognized and admired even in countries where it's never officially been offered."
While neither Chevrolet nor the Corvette has a major sales presence in Switzerland, the Bowtie's European headquarters is located in Zurich (about three hours to the northeast of Geneva) and GM has made it clear that it wants to build the Chevrolet brand up across Europe.
First privately owned Corvette Stingray blitzes 1/4 mile in 12.23 at 114.88 mph
Tue, 01 Oct 2013Chevrolet's latest road rocket, the Corvette Stingray, is a very quick car. If one needs further proof of that, we recommend they take a look at this video from Hennessey of what is claimed to be the first privately owned C7 Corvette to make a pass down the quarter mile. Not just any quarter mile, mind, this black C7 blitzed its way down the tuner's primary testing dragstrip. The Chevrolet ran the quarter in just 12.23 seconds at 114.88 miles per hour. That is a very quick time for a stock car.
Equipped with the Z51 package and a six-speed automatic transmission, not only does the C7 run a solid time, but it does so with little to no drama. That won't last though, as Hennessey will likely return it to its owner with far more power - we just hope they show a drag run of the completed product. Take a look below to watch the C7's 12.23-second run on video.
2013 Chevy COPO Camaro announced with two new engines and manual option
Thu, 07 Mar 2013Chevrolet is following up the 2012 COPO Camaro with another limited run of the drag-strip-ready production car for 2013. Ditching the superchargers, the 2013 COPO Camaro can only be equipped with one of three naturally aspirated V8 engines, and other new features include the option of a manual transmission, new front springs, some minor styling changes and a lower starting price of $86,000. All cars are designed to abide by the rules of the NHRA's Stock Eliminator or Super Stock classifications, depending on in which series buyers wish to enter their Chevrolet Camaro.
Returning for 2013 is the 427-cubic-inch V8 producing 425 horsepower, but the new engines include a 325-hp 350-CID V8 and a 375-hp 396-CID V8. Buyers can select to purchase all three engines, and each will be matched with the sequence number of that car; the track-only COPO cars will not have vehicle identification numbers and can't be registered for street use.
Chevrolet is also offering unique enthusiast-specific options such as a COPO Build Book and the opportunity for owners to help assemble their car's engine at the Chevrolet Performance Build Center in Wixom, MI.
