You are bidding on a 1980 Chevrolet El Camino that has been partially restored and has 58,310 original miles.  This vehicle is all original, except for custom paint job and wheels.  This truck has NO RUST. Equipped with power steering, power brakes, and air conditioning.  Below is a listing of all items that have been repaired, replaced, or upgraded.

  • Original 3.8 V-6 which is spotless inside and has been well maintained (discovered this when replacing the valve cover gaskets and valve stem seal)
  • 350 turbo transmission which has been tuned to shift firmer
  • Engine has been tuned by way of re-curving the distributor, changing timing settings, and tuning the fuel curve of the carburetor.  It runs like a 305 cubic inch Chevy up to 80 mph.
  • Fuel mileage is 16 mpg in town, and 22 mpg on the highway.

  • H-4 Bosch headlamps
  • New chrome grill and headlight surrounds
  • New chrome tailgate tag surround
  • New headliner
  • New seat cover and foam
  • New door and window seals

  • New wheelhouse moldings
  • New 2-tone paint -- PPG Indigo Blue on top, stock light blue on the bottom, with a bright red accent stripe at the body line.  All buried below Global Clear Coat, sanded and polished.
  • New Torque Thrust Two chromed wheels, 15x7 in front, and 15x8 in the rear.  New lug nuts and Gorilla locks.
  • New BF Goodrich 225/60/15 rear tires
  • New BF Goodrich 215/65/15 front tires

This car has been a weekend driver and is very reliable.  It can be driven on the highway, so shipping may not be necessary.  If you have any questions, please feel free to email me or call me at 316-393-1055 and ask for Dave.

Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!

GM sweetens military discount for Buick, Chevy and GMC

Sun, 06 Oct 2013

American servicemen and women interested in a new vehicle from Chevrolet, Buick or GMC now have a bit more incentive to head down to their local dealer, as General Motors has announced plans to improve its military discount program.
The new GM Military Discount Program offers eligible consumers a new Chevy, Buick or GMC at invoice pricing, which in some cases can take very large chunks out of a car's retail price. When factored in with other incentives, most of which are available with the Military Discount, the bargains are thick on the ground for members of the US armed forces.
GM's Retail Sales and Marketing Support general manager, Chuck Thomson, said, "GM has long supported the military and military families, and we hope this simplified and enhanced discount will show our appreciation for their service and help make it easier for them to own one of our great new vehicles." The program is open to all active duty and reserve members in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, National Guard and Coast Guard, as well as veterans that have been out of the service for less than a year. Military retirees and their spouses are also eligible for the discount.

GM applies for LT5, LTX trademarks... are new small block variants coming?

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Recently discovered General Motors trademark applications for LT4, LT5, LT88 and LTX have observers wondering what kind of high-performance offerings could be on their way. A new LT4 would mark a return of the engine designation first used on the Corvette Grand Sport, SLP Pontiac Firehawk and SLP Chevrolet Camaro SS from 1996 and 1997. Supposition at Corvette Forum - which provided advance intel on the C7 like these leaked images - believes a new LT4 could go into the high-performance trim of the next-gen, 2015 Camaro that would be more powerful than the 580-horsepower Camaro ZL1.
Seeing an LT5 again would also be déjà vu - in its former life it was a 5.7-liter V8 for the C4 Corvette ZR-1 from 1990-1994 designed by Lotus, producing from 370 hp to 405 hp. A mix of rumor and hope is that the new LT5 will be a supercharged evolution of the 6.2-liter LT1 (pictured) placed in the new C7 Corvette, and that it will go into the C7 version of the ZR1 pumping out something like 700 hp.
The LTX trademark is, as with that last letter, a complete mystery. If the "X" isn't a generic way to denote the whole LT family, it's wondered if it LTX could refer to a crate motor offering like the LSX.

Pushing Back: GM expanding Chevrolet into Korea, Daewoo out

Chevrolet Camaro goes to South Korea - Click above for high-res image
General Motors decided several years ago to begin heavily promoting Chevrolet as its global mainstream brand even in markets where its existing brands like Opel and Daewoo were a dominant force. Today, at the Busan Motor Show in South Korea, GM Daewoo president Mike Arcamone announced that the Camaro would lead the way in GM's efforts to market Chevrolet in South Korea.
For now at least Chevrolet and Daewoo-branded vehicles will coexist in the Korean market. However, while we were in China last week GM officials told us that the Daewoo brand, which has been somewhat tainted by past quality issues, would eventually be phased out in favor of Chevrolet. When the new Aveo launches next year it will likely be badged as a Chevrolet even though GM Daewoo is in charge of engineering the car.
