WE ARE SELLING OUR 1969 EL CAMINO. I WILL DO MY BEST TO DESCRIBE THE CAR HONESTLY AND COMPLETELY. WHILE YOUR READING THIS AND CONJURING UP A MENTAL IMAGE, THINK "NICE DRIVER". ITS NOT A REAL SS. I JUST ADDED THE BADGES FOR LOOKS.
FIRST AND FOREMOST (IN MY MIND ANYWAY)....THIS IS A CAR YOU CAN DRIVE ANYWHERE. AS FAR AS I KNOW IT HAS NO MECHANICAL DEFECTS. WE DRIVE IT TO CRUISE INS 100 MILES ROUND TRIP ALL THE TIME. IT DOES NOT SMOKE OR RATTLE. IT TRACKS AND STOPS STRAIGHT AS AN ARROW.
BODY AND PAINT : A 7 OR 8 ITS STRAIGHT BUT IF YOU LOOK REAL LOW IN THE BACK BEHIND THE REAR WHEELS FOR INSTANCE YOU CAN SEE SOME SLIGHT BUBBLING. ITS NOT BAD AND HAVE TO LOOK FOR IT BUT ITS THERE. THE PAINT IS SMOOTH AS A NEW CAR PAINT. NOT MIRROR LIKE A SHOW CAR, BUT CERTAINLY NICE. NO BIG SCRATCHES ETC. SS 396 HOOD HAS BEEN ADDED ALONG WITH THE RED SS STRIPE. A NOTE ON THE CLOSEUP PICTURE OF THE WHEEL: THE REFLECTION OF ME THE TREES AND WHATEVER ELSE MAKES THE BODY ABOVE THE MOULDING LOOK DORKED UP. I ASSURE YOU ITS NOT.
UNDERCARRIAGE. NICE AND SOLID FRAME. LIKE YOUD EXPECT FOR A WELL MAINTANED VEHICLE OF ITS AGE. ITS NOT CONCOURS BUT ITS NOT A RUSTED CLUSTER EITHER.
GLASS: ALL GOOD. ORIGINAL EXCEPT THE WINDSHIELD. SOME SCRATCHES ON ONE OF THE WING WINDOWS. SLIGHT WIPER HAZE ON WINDSHIELD. NOT TOO BAD BUT ITS THERE.
THE MILEAGE ON IT IS I THINK 69000 OR SO, I CANT PROVE IT BUT IM THINKING IT MIGHT BE RIGHT. IM NOT SURE ITS GONE AROUND ONCE. ID SAY BETTER THAN 50 50 ITS ACTUAL. ALL THE IDIOT LIGHTS WORK GAS GAUGE. AFTERMARKET GUAGES UNDER DASH.
DRIVETRAIN: 350 350 OBVIOUSLY REBUILT. (NOT BY ME) RUNS AND SHIFTS AS NEW. CHOKE WORKS LIKE IT SHOULD ETC. HEADERS AND DECENT EXHAUST. I THINK ITS THE ORIGINAL MOTOR AND TRANS, BUT I AM NOT POSITIVE.
INTERIOR: STOCK APPEARING. NEWER CARPET AND DOOR PANELS ETC. SEAT I THINK IS ORIGINAL AND ITS NICE. HEADLINER REPLACED. ORIGINAL BELTS. AFTERMARKET CD STEREO WITH PIONEER SPEAKERS. DASH PAD ISNT CRACKED. ID SAY AN 8. OH YEA THE DOME LIGHT IS NOT WORKING. DASH ISNT BUTCHERED.
FACTORY FRONT DISC BRAKES WORK AS GOOD AS A WELL MAINTAINED CAR. ALL THE LIGHTS BRIGHTS BLINKERS HORN WORK AS IT HAS BEEN RECENTLY STATE INSPECTED. NOT AN EASY TASK TO PASS WITH AN OLDER CAR HERE.
THE BED IS NICE NICER THAN MOST IT HAS SOME WEAR BUT IT DOESNT LOOK LIKE IT HAD RIP RAP ROCK HAULED IN IT. THE COVER IS NEWER AND REALLY WELL FIT AND MADE.
THE BOTTOMS OF THE DOORS AND TAILGATE ARE SOLID. THE CHROME. ITS ORIGINAL;. ITS NOT BAD BUT ITS GOT SOME AGING. ITS NOT BAD AND THE CAR SHOWS REALLY WELL. HOWEVER NEW BUMPERS AND MAYBE DOORHANDLES WOULD REALLY ADD TO THE EYEBALL. ITS THE WORST PART OF THE OUTSIDE. AGAIN ITS NOT BAD . ALSO ALL THE BED TRIM IS ON IT. ITS NOT MISSING PARTS ETC. THE BUMPERS ARENT ALL DINGED UP JUST THE CHROME IS TIRED IS WHAT IM TRYING TO SAY.
RADIATOR IS A BIG BLOCK RADIATOR. ROCK SOLID 190 I DONT CARE HOW HOT OUT IT IS. BATTERY IS NEWER. ALL THE HOSES AND ALL THOSE TYPE ITEMS ARE GOOD.
TIRES AND WHEELS NEW COKER REPROS. RED LINE BIAS PLY. EXPENSIVE BUT IT MADE THE CAR REALLY POP AND ADDS THE CORRECT PEROID LOOK. EMBLEMS I ADDED ARE NEW.
WHY AM SELLING IT? A: TO MAKE A PROFIT IF IM NOT CAREFUL AND GO ON THE "HUNT" AGAIN .
I COULD GO ON AND ON, BUT HERES THE DEAL...ITS A GOOD CAR. WE GET ALOT OF COMPLIMENTS ON THE CAR. IT HAS REALLY GOOD STANCE AND EYEBALL. PLUS IT RUNS GOOD AND HAS BEEN DEPENDABLE. GOOD VALUE FOR THE MONEY. A PERFECT ENTRY LEVEL OLD CAR FOR MAYBE A YOUNGER GUY TO PLAY WITH AND LEARN. EASY TO WORK ON. PEOPLE PASS UP EXPENSIVE HOTRODS AT THE CRUISE AND STOP AT OUR CAR. ITS CRAZY BUT IT HAPPENS . AGAIN....ITS A DRIVER / LOCAL CAR SHOW VEHICLE. ITS NOT A TURD, ITS NOT A PEBBLE BEACH ENTRY. CHECK MY FEEDBACK. EVERY CAR IVE SOLD THE PEOPLE WERE HAPPY CAMPERS. THAT BEING SAID, IM NOT GUARANTEEING IT PAST MY DRIVEWAY. ID LET MY LOVED ONES DRIVE IT . IT HAS GOOD BONES. THATS WHY I BOUGHT IT.
I DO NOT WANT TO TRADE. PLEASE....I WILL HELP YOU ANY WAY I CAN ...BUT I CANT STAND TIRE KICKING BS. MAKE SURE THE WIFE KNOWS, YOU HAVE THE MONEY, ETC BEFORE YOU START IN ON IT. DONT BE "THAT GUY" ITS PRICED RIGHT. WERE NOT UNDER FINANCIAL STRESS (THANK THE LORD) SO PLEASE REFRAIN FROM GOING LOW BALL. I WONT EVEN RESPOND TO IT. I DONT MIND DRIVING IT AROUND FRANKLY.
IF YOU WANT TO SHIP IT THATS FINE . YOURE PAYING FOR IT. I WILL MAKE SURE IT GETS ON A TRUCK SAFELY. THE CAR OR ITS TITLE (WHICH IS IN OUR NAME) ARENT LEAVING HERE UNTIL ITS ALL PAYED FOR AND CLEARED. PERIOD.

Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]
Sun, 03 Feb 2013The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.

Mother's Day Suggestion No. 2,506
Thu, 02 May 2013With Mother's Day coming up, we're always looking for new gift ideas to celebrate the occasion, but hot laps around a track might not be the best suggestion for Darius Khashabi. In a video posted on YouTube, Khashabi straps his mom into the passenger seat of his C6 Corvette Z06 for some laps around Sonoma Raceway (formerly Infineon Raceway) at "60 percent" with comical results.
Now this isn't the first time Mama Khashabi has gotten seat time in her son's car around a track, as his YouTube page shows him pulling a similar stunt - with similar results - around Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca last year. Scroll down for the video, but know that the action really gets going at around the 1:40 mark.
