I have a fully restored, better than new 1965 el Camino that I hate to sell, but I have bills that need to be paid .What we have here is a very nice sleeper /cruiser /cross country driver. This beauty can idle all day in traffic and never get hot, cruise at any speed on the highway at a low rpm 70mph@ 2200 rpm . BUT WHEN YOU WANT TO PLAY JUST PRESS DOWN THE PEDAL AND HANG ON. This beauty will light the tires up in any gear on command, or you can use her as a daily commuter.

Now to the details, with the body removed, the frame has been completely stripped and repainted, all the springs front and rear have been replaced with a sport suspension handling package including sway bars,  KYB shocks on all 4 corners, all the control arm bushings and ball joints and other front suspension parts were supplied by Original Parts Group. The brake system was supplied by SSBC with power disc front brakes, and rear drum brakes, all the brake lines and fuel lines are brand new and stainless steel, the fuel tank is also new. The engine is a GM Performance 383 crate motor, the transmission is a TCI Performance turbo 350 package. The engine has a GM tune port injection system, with a new wiring harness and new injectors & programed ECM (has OBD diagnostic connector under dash). This engine also has a Paxton supercharger system made for the tune port  injection system and it runs fantastic. The supercharger only boost high when under heavy load, boost 5-7lb at full boost, 1-3lb normal driving. Very quiet system, you would never know it's there, unless you see it. The car has; power steering and power brakes, a serpentine belt system, 4core radiator and duel electric fans, has full-length headers, and a complete Flowmaster 2.5" exhaust system.

The interior is completely new; new seat and door panels, new headliner, new dash pad, new visors, new carpet, and the complete interior has been dyno matted. Has a Ididit tilt steering column, new Painless wiring harness, has Dakota digital gauges, custom Autosound stereo system (STOCK LOOK), all new door seals and window felts. There is hardly any road noise on the inside.

Has a new paint job that looks great, the paint is a gun metal gray. The body lines all line up nice and the gaps are even, most of the stainless is original and original bed rails & bumpers. The grill and front trim is aftermarket (Original Parts Group). All the doors open & shut like new , so does the tail gate, the bed has been rino-lined, no rust. It also has a custom made bed cover. The paint has been cut and buffed so it real shines. Overall this a very nice car.

I'm sure I have left out a ton of details, thanks for looking & good luck if you're biding. Don't let this one get away if you've been searching for a gem!

Tarantino's stolen Chevy Malibu from Pulp Fiction recovered after 19 years [w/video]

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Quentin Tarantino fans will likely remember Vincent Vega's cherry 1964 Chevrolet Malibu Convertible in Pulp Fiction. In a movie drenched in automotive references, the Malibu is very nearly a character in and of itself, and it serves as the subject of Vega's soliloquy about the kind of man who vandalizes another's automobile. It also happened to be Tarantino's personal car when the film was shot, and was apparently stolen shortly after production wrapped. Now police have located the car some 19 years later.
As it turns out, the thieves cloned the vehicle identification number from another '64 Malibu and had the car registered under the new digits. It was then sold to an unsuspecting buyer. Police happened upon the duplicate VINs while investigating another potential theft. Right now, it's unclear whether Tarantino has taken possession of the Chevrolet, if it has remained in the possession of the fraud victim, or whether it's caught somewhere in the gears of justice. Either way, you can catch Vega's memorable thoughts on the car keying in the Pulp Fiction clip below. But consider yourself warned: the video contains explicit language as Not Safe For Work as it comes.

2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Convertible is the track car for sun worshippers

Fri, 11 Apr 2014

Supercharged, 6.2-liter V8? Check. Seven-speed manual? Check. Obsession with weight? Check.
What did you expect when Chevrolet said it was bringing a new Corvette variant to the 2014 New York Auto Show? Maybe a sticker and trim package, like the C6 Corvette Grand Sport or a tie-in deal like the Black Widow car from Chicago? On the opposite end, maybe there was an even more hardcore Z06 waiting in the wings. Who knew?

Joe Flacco wins C7 Corvette along with MVP honors

Mon, 04 Feb 2013

As part of a longstanding tradition, the MVP of Super Bowl XLVII, Joe Flacco, quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, was given a new car directly after the game and trophy celebrations. For 2013, that car is a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, and it was presented to Flacco by Rick Flick of Banner Chevrolet, a dealership in New Orleans that was wiped out by Hurricane Katrina in 2005 before returning to prominence as the only Chevy dealer in Orleans Parish.
Last year, Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning took home a 2012 Corvette GS Centennial Edition. Manning also won in 2008, when he selected a Cadillac Escalade Hybrid as his reward. In 2011, quarterback Aaron Rodgers accepted the keys to a Camaro convertible.
Though we're most definitely an auto-obsessed group, we did watch the Big Game along with nearly everyone else in America. And we've gotta say, as if winning the Super Bowl and receiving the Tiffany-designed Pete Rozelle Trophy wasn't enough for the multi-millionaire MVP athletes, a brand-new C7 seems like an awfully generous prize.
