2002 CHEVY CORVETTE ZO6   LOWEST MILEAGE IN THE US?

Gorgeous black on black ZO6 Corvette with 1681 original miles.  Car has 405 horsepower, 6 speed manual transmission, and heads-up visual display. Fantastic condition as you can imagine based on the mileage. This Vette has been garaged in Colorado its entire life and has never once seen rain or snow. (Colorado is a very dry climate so any type of rust is generally not an issue for metal parts.)

This ZO6 sits under a car cover in an attached three car garage. It has never been left in direct sunshine for any significant period of time so fading or oxidation have not occurred. I regularly run the car; move its position; and generally maintain it very well. (In another lifetime I was a mechanic). It has never needed any kind of repairs since I’ve owned it, and I don’t believe that the original owner had any repairs either.

I purchased this ZO6 from the original owner with 1100 miles in 2004. I am the second owner and have pampered this car for the past 10 years. I don’t want to try to give you the little old lady who drove it to church once a week routine, but the longest ride I ever took in the car was when I bought it home in 2004.

I am not doing much describing of the vehicle itself, because what can I really say. The car is beautiful. I hesitate to use words like “perfect”, “immaculate”, and “mint”, but I have put less than 600 miles on the car in over 10 years. I really believe it still has the new car smell.

The engine compartment still has all of the manufacturer’s paper tags on the hoses and tubing that generally fall off a new car in a few months of daily driving. As far as modifications, I have not made any. The tires are original; the interior is unblemished; the paint is beautiful; and of course it runs great. The only equipment change was replacing the battery last year. (I would think this is expected from a 13 year old car.)

Finally, I want to apologize for the pictures themselves, but photography is clearly not one of my strong skills. I just don’t do this very much. I was told after I took the pictures that I should not have taken them in bright light. Oh well…   The pictures are not so great but the car is real nice.

I will be sure to include the original owner’s manual, car cover, and the promotional VCR tape which Chevy provided with the car in 2002.

If you have any questions or if you want me to describe anything more about the car please feel free to call Charlie at 3O3.9O4.96I4.

My requested terms of sale are as follows:    $1000 deposit within 72 hours through PayPal, with the balance paid within 5 days by bank check. I will not release the vehicle until the check has fully cleared my bank.

Vehicle pickup and transport is the coordination and financial responsibility of the purchaser, but I will certainly do what I can to assist.   Thank you.

Survey says $25k barrier is a problem for EVs

Sun, 01 Dec 2013

The majority of consumers are more or less priced out of the market.
Electric cars are gaining popularity with the general public, but are they still too expensive? According to a survey 1,084 consumers by Navigant Research, a consulting firm located in Boulder, CO, 71 percent want their next car to cost under $25,000, while 41 percent won't go a cent above $20K. Looks like people are even thriftier than we'd originally thought.

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable

Fri, 21 Sep 2012

General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.

Toyota tops Kelley Blue Book's Resale Value Awards

Tue, 27 Nov 2012

Kelley Blue Book announced its annual Best Resale Value Award winners, and we weren't too surprised to see the list dominated by Japanese automakers - mainly Toyota and Honda. KBB hands out the awards based on the projected residual value of mostly all 2013 model year vehicles, and Toyota skated home with a number of awards including 10 of the 22 overall categories and having five of its products in the top 10 for models with best resale value. KBB's Best Resale Value Awards were announced in the same week as the ALG Residual Value Awards, and there were many similarities between both lists, especially when it came to Toyota.
To come up with its winners, KBB measures depreciation over the first five years of ownership, and looks for the cars it expects to hold its value the best after this time; on average, the report says the 2013 model year vehicles will lose 61.8 percent of its value in five years. Of the 22 categories, 15 slots were filled by Toyota, Honda and Nissan products, while the Camaro and Porsche (Cayenne and Panamera) each took home a pair of awards. If Toyota has anything to be upset about in this list of cars, it's that categories for Hybrid/Alternative Energy Car and Electric Vehicle went to the Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Volt, respectively.
The overall top 10 models for the best resale value in 2013 are, in alphabetical order:
