For sale by owner a 50th Anniversary Corvette Coupe.

The owner of Corvettes Unlimited LLC is selling this privately owned Corvette.. The vehicle was purchased in April of 2013.

This corvette was subject to a flash rain storm and received right at 3" of water on it's floor. This corvette was purchased from the Florida Copart lot.

When it arrived, it was running and driving and the floors were dry. It had just enough water to short the seat motors and cause some DTC's ( Diagnostic Trouble Codes ) to code.

The car was immediately sent to the shop where my top technicians began to remove the seats, carpets and do a detailed inspection of every component ( electrical & mechanical of the underbody. No water contamination was noted in any of the driveline oils nor the sealed electrical plugs. (A detailed vehicle report and repair order is displayed in this listing ) In addition to the seat motors and modules, it was decided to replace the interior wire harness, the interior fuse block and BCM ( body control module ) to assure that there would be no hidden problems in the future.   All components replaced were genuine GM parts that are product specific for this particular vehicle. Every option and system is operating correctly and there are no DTC's present in any system.  This vehicle is and has been functioning correctly since it's repair in 2013. Since it's repair I have put a little over 400 miles on it.

Along with the photos, I have included a detailed vehicle report and repair invoice. Also I have a photo documented folder with every step of this corvettes repair I will send it to anyone that is interested to view it. The pricing is at a wholesale level . I will be moving my corvette shop to Dallas Texas in the next two months and have too many vehicles at my home in North Dallas already. We are an exclusive Corvette sales and service facility and have been in business since 1980.

Read This: Auto Extremist advocates for Corvette as brand with multiple models [w/poll]

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette really grinds Peter De Lorenzo's gears. Or, more accurately, the self-anointed Auto Extremist has an issue with what he sees as mismanagement of the legendary sports car by General Motors executives. In a new editorial on his website, De Lorenzo argues it's time to split Corvette off from Chevrolet to create an all-new brand, complete with a model range with at least three new takes on the sports car. Capable of fully leveraging the successes of the Corvette Racing program and brandishing the full might of GM's technical prowess, the Corvette brand would theoretically give Porsche something to sweat over.
Sure, that sounds like a party, but given GM's troubled track record when it comes to launching (let alone managing) brands, we say that's slippery slope that could just as easily end with the whole Corvette franchise in the scrap bin. Either way, the notion is certainly an interesting one. Head over to Auto Extremist to take in the full editorial, and then let us know what you think in Comments. Should GM split off its most storied nameplate?

Corvette Stingray designer lists five goals of new exterior shape

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

Redesigning an icon is a difficult task, especially when you've got a blank sheet of paper in front of you and the all-new C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is intended to be your final objective.
General Motors has released a new short video featuring Kirk Bennion of the Corvette's exterior design team, talking about the challenges of sculpting Chevrolet's new flagship sports car and the five goals the team had to keep in mind as it worked. In the end, Bennion's team had the pleasure of seeing their hard work take center stage as the Corvette captured the world's eyes at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.

GM recalls 8,500 Chevrolet Malibu models for rear suspension glitch

Mon, 04 Feb 2013

According to a letter from General Motors to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, flaws in the build process of the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu have led to the recall of 8,519 cars. Units built between December 6, 2011 and January 15, 2013 may have been assembled with rear suspension cradles that had insufficient torque applied to certain bolts. That out-of-spec assembly could lead to issues ranging from slight noises to a loss of vehicle control.
The problem was first noticed in December of last year by a GM test fleet driver and eventually tracked back to the improperly torqued bolts on the suspension cradle assembled through July 2012 by a supplier located not too far from the Malibu's Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly Plant. Since an official NHTSA recall notice has not been issued yet, it isn't clear whether or not Detroit-built Malibus were the only ones affected (the 2013 Malibu is also built at GM's Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas City, Kansas). Dealers will fix the problem by inspecting vehicles for proper torque specs, retightening if not within specs and, in some cases, perform a rear-wheel alignment.
