The car had around 9,000 miles on it when it was acquired by me. I am the second owner. It originally was purchased in the fall of 2000 from a Chevrolet dealer in Quakertown, Pa. The first owner, who I've met, was very fussy with the car and kept it in pristine condition before trading it in on a new 2003 Anniversary coupe. In meeting this gentleman, I received all the paperwork that was generated from the entire ordering/buying experience including the handwritten deal that was drawn up for that ordering process between the original buyer and selling dealer before the car was ever created, along with all the shipping plastic that came with it from the factory, which he saved, and also the window sticker, build sheet and factory supplied VHS tape that tells you all about the car. It is a loaded car with all the options I beleive you could get on a 2001 Z06. It has been a pampered and loved car by 2 guys that were nuts for it for over 14 years. It was never wrecked, always kept in a garage, never smoked in and never abused or mechanically modified or altered in any way. The underside is very clean. The trunk is very clean as well, and has the factory tire repair kit that includes a bottle of latex (fix a flat) a electric air pump and the blow molded carrying case that it is stored in. Run flats were never used because they weighed too much so, that's why they supplied the tire repair kit. I did put chrome GM wheels on it when I first got it and have the original wheels & caps in mint condition that go along with the car, as it should be. I also built a custom removable trunk divider with built in courtesy lamp that can be unplugged if you choose to remove the divider from the car. I don't consider that a modification because you can use it or not, it's up to you. It has only one scratch about 1 inch long on the right quarter panel below the marker lamp that you probably would not see if you didn't know it was there. The front nose is free of nicks and the backs of the mirrors are all but free of nicks (maybe 3 or 4, if that).

This is your 2014 Chevrolet SS

Sat, 16 Feb 2013

Think you've waited long enough for this? If so, then you'll want to savor the high-res photos we've so far been given of the 2014 Chevrolet SS, the first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan from The Bowtie in 17 years.
We all know its our version of the brand new VF-model Holden Commodore, but what's under the hood that earns the appellation "performance?" A 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine producing 415 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. That's 35 hp and lb-ft less than the same engine is expected to produce in the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. Chevrolet says the sedan will get from 0-to-60 miles per hour "in about five seconds."
Shifting comes courtesy of a six-speed automatic with paddles on the steering wheel, while stopping arrive via four-piston Brembo calipers up front, a single sliding piston in back. The forged aluminum wheels are 19-inchers all around, each set supporting right around 50 percent of the sedan's weight, and the aluminum hood and trunk are meant to keep the center of gravity low.

Chevrolet donates 300 vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Super Storm Sandy took out a lot of automobiles in its path of destruction through the Northeast last October. The number surpassed 250,000 at last count, and a few of those were owned by Chevrolet - cars either sitting on dealership lots or waiting at port to be shipped off. Rendered unsellable by the water damage inflicted by Sandy, these vehicles were facing the crusher. But Chevy didn't send them there.
Instead, Chevy had a better idea: It will be donating 300 of these vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders at Guardian Centers in Perry, GA. Chevy is the official automotive partner of Guardian Centers, which is an 830-acre facility that trains first responders in disaster preparedness. Junked cars are practically a consumable commodity there, where a full-size cityscape simulator gives trainees an entire urban center in which to train for all sorts of rescue operations and disaster scenarios.
Chevy says its particular vehicles will be used "in conjunction with role players for wide area searches, traffic congestion in emergency situations, counter terrorism, public order and mass casualty exercises." While grim scenarios all, we're certainly glad there are people out there preparing for the unexpected. While a zombie apocalypse isn't officially on the list of potential disasters to prepare for, when the virus hits, we'll be hot-footing it to Perry, GA to hang with these guys and gals.

Supercharged 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 takes the C7 beyond the ZR1

Mon, 13 Jan 2014

The Z06 is just about everything we got in the last ZR1, but better.
After a bright-yellow false start, here is the real thing: the fourth-generation, 2015 Corvette Z06. If Chevrolet makes a ZR1 version of the C7 Corvette, it's going to be absolutely mega, because the Z06 is just about everything we got in the last ZR1, but better.
