2005 C6 Z51 Coupe. Performance: Motor: LS2 6.0L(400hp stock), probably pushing around 450hp with the mods. It stays even with a 2005 Shelby GT500. It is equipped with the Z51 performance package that adds a stiffer suspension, performance tires, upgraded braking system, performance transmission gearing, and a transmission oil cooler! These upgrades make a significant difference in the driving experience over a base model Corvette. I put new ceramic brake pads on the front a couple thousands miles ago.Firestone tires: The fronts could probably go another 5 thousand miles, depending how you drive it. The rears have a couple thousand miles on them. I replaced them last year. The fronts cost around $125 each and the rears cost around $250 each, so a full set of firestones are around $1000.B&B bullet exhaust, pretty much the loudest but best sounding exhaust for this car on market.

Mon, 27 May 2013If the 2013 Indy 500 were a movie it would be the one expected to win all the little statues come awards season, and if it were an athlete it would have made spectators watch in awe as it broke record after record. And this kind of talk comes after last year's race was considered one of the best ever - the last lap hijinks in 2012 and Takuma Sato's crash leading to a podium ceremony straight out of a Golden Globes tearjerker.
But this year's race delivered more than anyone expected, from the 250,000 fans to the commentators to the IndyCar series itself and, finally, to the guy who hopped through a two-mile window on Lap 197 to take the lead and keep it until the end.

When I was a kid, I decided that life wasn't worth living if it weren't in pursuit of owning a GMC Typhoon. My 12-year-old self crafted a fiscal strategy that, when combined with my offer of a 49-percent share of ownership in the car in return for my parents' contribution of 80-percent of the purchase price, would see me behind the wheel of a Typhoon by the time I hit college. They walked away from the negotiating table and, the economic climate of the 8th grade being what it was at the time, another partner wasn't found before the Typhoon was discontinued.

Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept blends the past and the future
Wed, 19 Nov 2014The Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo is the rare concept car that salutes a seminal moment in history, yet also borders on science fiction.
Revealed Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the concept uses the name of one of Chevy's historic racing partnerships, with Chaparral Racing, which dates to the 1960s. Chaparrals raced successfully at a range of levels, including IndyCar, Trans-Am and SCCA competition.
But the history ends there, as the concept's main purpose is as a racecar in a downloadable update for the PlayStation 3 game Gran Turismo 6.
