Just email me at: virginacebula@technologist.com . Up for sale is my beautiful 2010 Chevy Corvette.
History- I am the second owner of this car. I purchased it from Mark at Byerly Ford in Louisville KY last April.
The car had 33,000 miles when purchased.
How has the care been cared for? I had the pleasure of speaking with the previous owner. They took very good care
of the car and provided me with details of maintenance. I myself have always had the oil changed/maintenance
performed by a certified corvette mechanic at Bill Black Chevrolet. The vehicle has a clear title. The car has
been garage kept.
Why I am selling- My wife and I had a child in December and the car is no longer practical to keep aka she's making
me sell it.
About the car- The car is 100% stock. It has a manual transmission. It shifts and drives very smoothly. It has a
1LT equipment group with a V8 LS3 engine. Everything functions as new. It has a removable clear/see through targa
top. It has XM radio/On-star which I never activated. Chrome premium wheels. The front tires are nearly new I
replaced them last year. The back tires have about 50% wear. All tires are Eagle F1 GST run flats. The
paint/exterior is in excellent condition. The interior is in excellent condition. I've included a picture of one
small scratch to the back right quarter panel. Always ran premium gas. Eagle F1 run flats all around. Two front
tires are like new. Rear tires replaced earlier this year.
Warranty-The power train warranty is in effect until September of this year.
After Market- The car is 100% stock. The only things I've done to the vehicle was a professional LEGAL tint to the
front/rear windows 35%. I also added Corvette mats in the front two seats and the rear cargo space. Over 500
dollars for tint/mats.
About Me: I'm not concerned with misrepresenting this vehicle. I will be 100% up-front with you and your questions.
My seller rating speaks for itself.
Price - You can see the price is much lower than similar cars in the same year/mileage. I've listed my bottom
dollar so the price is firm.
Transport- I'll work with meeting you/transporting the vehicle. Ultimately you are responsible for pick-up.
Loan- I will work with you if you have to obtain a car loan.

Why the Corvette is Chevrolet's billion-dollar baby

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Edmunds has worked up a piece that tries to figure out just how much the global Chevrolet Corvette economy is worth, a spitballed guesstimate putting the number at more than $2.5 billion with the proviso that the number is probably low. It starts by taking Corvette's new car sales of 14,132 units last year, which would equate to $714,725,900 (including destination) assuming ever car sold was a base coupe with no options. In the final tally, a little extra padding gets that number up to $750,000,000.
But that's not all. Consider this: Many of the almost 1.4 million Corvettes produced over the model's history are still on the road. There are new parts being produced and aftermarket companies like Mid-America Motorworks deaing business, that single Illinois company doing more than $40 million a year in sales. There are the Corvette events large and small, restorers who do nothing but Corvettes, salvage yards that deal only in used Corvette parts and the Corvette magazines where owners find all this stuff.
And then there are the Corvette-themed tchotchkes, every single one of which provides a tiny contribution to the huge licensing royalties that General Motors collects every year. The article admits there's no way to come to an accurate number, but it just goes to show how valuable one specific model can be to a company.

GM recalling nearly 4,000 vehicles over airbag concerns

Thu, 31 Jan 2013

Four different General Motors vehicles from the 2012 model year are being recalled over a potential airbag issue. The driver's side airbag shorting bar in the 2012 Buick Verano and 2012 Chevrolet Camaro, Cruze and Sonic might make contact with the airbag terminals, even during a crash. If so, the airbag won't deploy when it should, possibly increasing injury to the driver.
The recall is expected to begin on February 13 for the 3,896 units that might be affected. GM will notify owners who can then take their vehicles to dealers to have the airbag coil replaced. A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration below has more info.

Experimental mid-engine XP-819 Corvette going up for auction

Sun, 17 Feb 2013

It seems to be commonplace that when a new Corvette is in development, rumors swirl about a possible mid-engine layout. As is the case of Chevy's most recent C7 Corvette, these rumors never pan out.
In any case, the idea for a 'Vette with an engine mounted behind the driver can probably all be traced back to a single car, the 1964 XP-819 prototype. Built as an "engineering exercise" back in 1964, the prototype was designed with a rear-mounted engine. History tells us that the idea of a rear-engine Corvette fizzled, and the XP-819 was eventually cut up into pieces and stored at a shop in Daytona Beach, FL.
After sitting for untold years, a restoration project started on the car, and while it isn't yet fully completed, the current owner of the car, Mid America Motorworks, will have the car on display at the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance as a "driveable chassis" with hopes of having a fully completed car ready to bring to next year's show.
