2009 Corvette Z06 Absolutely beautiful car! 2LZ model with some 3LZ options. 28,xxx pampered miles by a
long-time Corvette owner. LS 7.0 Liter engine, 505 HP with 6-speed manual transmission. Atomic Orange paint, Z06
Spider Design chrome wheels, Bose Premium 7 speaker system, interior is ebony with titanium accents. All standard
Z06 options including dry-sump oil system and 6 piston front and 2 piston rear cross-drilled brakes and dual-mode
exhaust. This Vette has just been serviced and needs no repairs or maintenance. No disappointments.
I am the original owner of this car and selling only because I just bought a 2017 Grand Sport. I estimate that 90%
of the miles on this car are touring “road” miles. Car has never been raced or abused in any way. All
maintenance was performed as scheduled and only Mobil 1 oil used. Because this car is a driver it is not perfect,
but close to it. The last time I had the car out was for a car show (60+ Corvettes) and it took C6 People’s
Choice. When not being driven, this Corvette is stored in a climate-controlled garage. Laminated window sticker,
manuals, service records and 2 sets of keys included.
The Carfax shows the car as having been in an accident – It WAS NOT. A car tried to pass me while I was stopped
and scraped the left-rear fender. The other driver was ticketed for unsafe lane-change so it somehow got reported
to Carfax as an accident. I have photos of the “before” and “after” repair to show the damage and repair.
The paint matches perfectly and there is no evidence of repair.
This is a private sale so there are no taxes, fees or BS. I have clear title in hand.

NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.

Watch NASCAR racer Jeff Gordon put one over on a used car dealer... sorta

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

Full Disclosure: in my younger days, I loved nothing more than tormenting passengers with my behind-the-wheel hijinks. Once, after a particularly artful handbrake turn on a two-lane at around 50 miles per hour, I left one backseat occupant crying in their own lap. This isn't necessarily something to be proud of, but it gives you a glimpse into why it is that I find this ad from Pepsi so damn disappointing. The premise is beautiful. Take NASCAR legend Jeff Gordon, give him a disguise and set him loose upon some unsuspecting used car dealer. Hilarity ensues.
Except that this Pepsi Max commercial is so obviously staged, it can't help but feel like some ham-fisted marketing fail. From the strategically placed aftermarket cupholder mounted mid-dash for the hidden camera to the fact that the supposed dealer Camaro is displayed as a 2009 model (Hint: Chevrolet didn't make any), this clip is about as organic as a Twinkie. Still, we would never turn down a chance to watch Gordon thrash on a rental-spec coupe - only problem is, he probably didn't even do the driving himself. Check it out below.

More Corvette Stingray Factoids: Vanishing panel gaps and 26-mpg LT1

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
So, most of what was talked about has been expertly reported already right here on Autoblog. But, looking through our notes again, both Jeuchter and Lee added facts to the buzzing mix.
