The rims look great but there is some small marks on them. There is also a small crack ion the plastic on the driver side plastic trim by sill plate- see the photo it not noticeable unless pointed out and it's on the interior black plastic trim only not on the body. Don't get me wrong the car looks really great but I'm trying to be overly forth coming as I do not want to miss lead anyone. I have driven this car for the last 5 summers and it gets a lot of attention wherever it goes due to the color, the sound and the ZL500 emblem. Overall the car is in great condition, runs and drives fantastic."

Up for sale is my 2008 corvette coupe. I am the only registered owner and I have clear title in hand.
The story behind the car- I bought the car in December of 2007 at a ford dealer in Detroit. The car was a GM program car given to a GM executive and used as a test car for Magazine reviews. I traded a CTS-V for the car at the Detroit Ford dealer.  The corvette museum confirmed the history of the car using the vin #. The dealer originally made me aware of history when I had it serviced. I followed up with an e-mail to the museum that confirmed it.

The car has a ZL500 performance PAC supplied and installed at SLP in NJ. I sent the car to SLP in NJ in January of 2008. They used the car to test and fit their ZL500 kit which make 500hp and 500 ft/lb of torque. The kit consists of headers, x pipe, power flow mufflers, under drive pullies,-LS3-Aluminum-Off-Set-185-Ratio-Rocker-Arm-Package, SLP valve springs with titanium retainers, SLP cold air induction (new in box) Proto type wasn't done yet when they returned car. They mailed it to me a month later and I never installed it. The ZL500 kit also came with a custom program designed by SLP and comes with the ZL500 fender badges. This kit was supplied and installed by SLP and comes with all paperwork and DYNO sheets done at the state of the art SLP facilities.
This kit is no long avaliable, they now sell all the parts separately atwww.slponline.com- This kit was sold for over 12k installed when new. The car sounds and runs awesome.
Aftermarket cross drilled and slotted rotors, carbon fiber brake pads (no more dust)' brand new BFGoodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2 tires all the way around ( less than 200 miles), black Z06 rims, 11.5" tires in rear, 10" tires up front, side and rear windows tinted and has glass roof interior cover so the sun does not bake you. It's held on by suction cups and works great.
It is easly installed or removed and does not leave any marks on the glass. There is also vinyl
Graphic decal of corvette jake on the front and rear bumper. They are non adhesive and remove with no marks.
 About the car itself-
Atomic orange color, 2 tone leather interior, heads up display, magna select suspension, single disc CD player, factory Bose system, heated seats, embroidered head rests, Magna select ride control, automatic transmission with paddle shifter, 2 fobs, and new battery.
This car has never seen snow always garage kept and never abused.
Possible trade for newer CTS-V or ? Can't hurt to ask.
This corvette has never been in any accident or damaged in any way. It has always been very well maintained with no issues.

2014 Chevrolet Malibu gets more torque, more room and inspiration from the Impala

Fri, 31 May 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet Malibu, having stared at the Impala across the showroom floor for a year, gets nips and tucks all over inspired by its larger brother. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder in the base car will get a stop-start system and 23 city miles per gallon, 35 highway, each number representing a one-mpg improvement over the 2013 car. Output is 196 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque.
Opt for the 2.0-liter turbo and, while power holds steady at 259 hp, torque goes up by 14 percent to a striking 295 lb-ft (a figure Chevy calls best in the class). The final details include newly programmed transmission shift points and faster shifts, for better engaging and enjoying the added power.
Looks-wise, the grille's been reshaped to be more in line with the new Chevrolet look, a narrower upper grille hovering over a larger lower grille.

GM applies for LT5, LTX trademarks... are new small block variants coming?

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Recently discovered General Motors trademark applications for LT4, LT5, LT88 and LTX have observers wondering what kind of high-performance offerings could be on their way. A new LT4 would mark a return of the engine designation first used on the Corvette Grand Sport, SLP Pontiac Firehawk and SLP Chevrolet Camaro SS from 1996 and 1997. Supposition at Corvette Forum - which provided advance intel on the C7 like these leaked images - believes a new LT4 could go into the high-performance trim of the next-gen, 2015 Camaro that would be more powerful than the 580-horsepower Camaro ZL1.
Seeing an LT5 again would also be déjà vu - in its former life it was a 5.7-liter V8 for the C4 Corvette ZR-1 from 1990-1994 designed by Lotus, producing from 370 hp to 405 hp. A mix of rumor and hope is that the new LT5 will be a supercharged evolution of the 6.2-liter LT1 (pictured) placed in the new C7 Corvette, and that it will go into the C7 version of the ZR1 pumping out something like 700 hp.
The LTX trademark is, as with that last letter, a complete mystery. If the "X" isn't a generic way to denote the whole LT family, it's wondered if it LTX could refer to a crate motor offering like the LSX.

Chevrolet Camaros at SEMA are a mobile accessory catalog

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

Chevy's goal at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas this week seems to be to show as much of its Performance and Accessories catalog as possible. That's why it brought three different Camaros - two with V8s and one powered by a V6 - with all of the best goodies from the catalog already fitted.
We gave a more in-depth recap of the Performance Camaro V8 Concept, the Performance Camaro V6 Concept and the Performance Garage Concept already, but we figured you'd like a short recap for each. It should be noted, though, that you can order all of the items you see here for your own Camaro, so be sure to take a long, hard look at our live galleries, just in case you're in the market for some mods.
Essentially, the Performance Garage Concept and the Performance V8 Concept are the same car - the only difference is that the later features a whole host of aesthetic tweaks in addition to its aftermarket, shorty exhaust headers and 2.75-inch exhaust. (The Performance Garage Concept has been usefully placed on its side; the better to see the new parts added to the vehicle.) The Performance V6 Concept is notable because, despite being a V6, there's no shortage of performance goodies fitted. All three of the Performance Camaros benefit from items from the Camaro ZL1, which can also be ordered through the catalog.
