2008 Chevrolet Corvette Z06

2008 Chevrolet Corvette ZO6

I am the 1 owner of this 2008 Chevrolet Z06 Corvette 1LZ. The exterior color is Black with Ebony leather interior. This Chevrolet Corvette is powered by the 7.0L / V8 engine, has a 6 speed manual transmission with 3594 miles and many very high quality upgrades.

All options are in working order which include power driver seat, power passenger seat, memory seats, push button start, Bose audio system, bluetooth, onstar, key-less remote entry, cruise control, tilt, heads up display, satellite radio, home-link, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, run flat tires, 18 inch front & 19 inch rear wheels in Anthrocite with matching Michelin Pilot Sport tires, 1 factory key / 1 remote, original owners manual,  and floor mats. Now for the important things.

All upgrades were performed when the car was broken in at 1000 miles in March of 2009. Most all of the miles on the car were put on it while I lived in Dallas. I recently moved to Virginia and had the car brought here in an enclosed trailor. There are NO stone chips on the front of this car or the mirrors. A Colgan car bra and mirror socks were used anytime the car was on the highway for a trip. The paint and interior are pristine with NO dings, chips or any damage whatsoever.

$15000 in additional Hi-Performance and other upgrades:

  • Quality Motorsports QM550 Package
  • QM 550 Camshaft and Upgraded Valve Springs
  • Halltech Killer Bee and Beehive Shroud with Vette Air Scoop
  • QM LS7 Ported Intake Manifold and Throttle Body
  • American Racing Header 1 7/8 with Hi-Flow Cats and X-pipe
  • Jet-Hot Coating of the Headers (Silver)
  • Custom made Fabricated Valve covers with Katech Coil Re-location kit and Red plug wires
  • Motorad 160 Degree Thermostat
  • Hinson Motorsports Aeromotive Red fuel rails with Stainless Steel braided lines and Red/Blue AN fittings and Fuel pressure gauge on the fuel rail.
  • Moroso oil vapor catch can with Stainless Steel braided  lines and Red/Blue AN fittings
  • NGK TR6 Spark Plugs
  • Ram Dual Disc Clutch with Ceramic Disc
  • Harland Sharp Rocker Arm Modification
  • Ceramic Tunnel Plate
  • Differential and Transmission fluid were changed when this work was being done. Oil changes occur every 1000 miles with Mobil 1 Synthetic and Mobil 1 oil filter
  • Tremec T6060 transmission which came on line for the Z06 in 2008
  • Replaced the black under hood liner with a factory Z06 embossed liner
  • Raptor Shift Light (Blue)
  • DSW Vettes leather trim dash pieces around the radio/heater controls, shift boot, e-boot and e-boot handle, center console lid with Z06 embroidered on the center and the rear center console piece that sits behind the seat. All in real matching ebony leather with red stitching.
  • Z06 embroidered floor mats and rear cargo mat
  • RSD certified roll bar
  • Stock seat belts
  • MGW short throw shifter with gripper shift knob
  • Sunset Orange Creation Exhaust Commander. I will explain this in better detail here: I debated on removing the stock mufflers and adding a Corsa system. Many advised that a Corsa system would tend to drone inside the cockpit alot. The exhaust commander comes with a key fob and is also hardwired into the options buttom on the dash. This allow you to manually open the secondary exhaust butterflies at idle and to return them to the stock configuration which opens them at 3000 rpm. This allows the car to idle and hear the awesome sound of the cam yet return it to quiet when cruising at hgwy speeds or again keeping them open all the time to listen to the wonderful sound the engine makes at speed.
  • Michelin Pilot Sport tires in stock size. The only reason I replaced the stock tires was that the Michelin is far superior. Better grip, lighter and more importantly quieter.
  • The car was dyno tuned at Quality Motorsports. It made 509.04 on Horsepower and 476.31 on Torque at the rear wheels.
  • The driveability of the car is fantastic. The clutch feel is exactly like stock with no shuddering. The cam is a very mild just a little above what the stock cam was. Quality Motorsports can comment on that. It is called their Steet Bully cam. No internal engine work was done. The heads were never removed everything else is stock. My idea was to bring up the horsepower without sacrificing driveability in anyway. Hence everything being done to support that. I have most of the receipts and the dyno graphs. The car has never been tracked or raced in any way. Looks fast and has the power to back it up but has never been raced.
  • Any questions at all please email me.
  • The car is sold as is with no warranty and no returns. I assure you that the winner of the auction will not be disappointed.
  • I am asking that the winner of the auction deposit via PayPal $500.00 within 1 day of the auction ending with the balance being made via bank transfer.
  • Winner is responsible for pick-up and shipping arrangements if necessary. The vehicle is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early.
  • The vehicle is for sale in the USA only.
  • The reserve is set low given the amount of money and time that went into building this car.
  • The only reason for selling it at this time is an expanding family and the time it takes to manage that. Which leaves no time for the car. The mileage or lack thereof are a testiment to that.
  • Thank you.

Survey says $25k barrier is a problem for EVs

Sun, 01 Dec 2013

The majority of consumers are more or less priced out of the market.
Electric cars are gaining popularity with the general public, but are they still too expensive? According to a survey 1,084 consumers by Navigant Research, a consulting firm located in Boulder, CO, 71 percent want their next car to cost under $25,000, while 41 percent won't go a cent above $20K. Looks like people are even thriftier than we'd originally thought.

Callaway debuts its new C7 Stingray at National Corvette Museum

Fri, 02 May 2014

Callaway showed off its first tuned version of the 2014 Corvette Stingray at the National Corvette Museum last week, giving the rampant enthusiasts of America's sports car a look at the roughly 620-horsepower, supercharged rocket.
Unlike the Corvette SC610 we showed you back in January, this Stingray packs a fair bit more oomph. Horsepower is only up ten ponies, but torque has jumped from 556 pound-feet to "at least" 600 pound-feet. Neither horsepower nor torque is official quite yet, although Callaway is expecting to know just what its creation can do once testing and validation is completed later this month.
The 6.2-liter, supercharged V8 now boasts a new, three-element intercooler, which Callaway claims only allowed the inlet air temperature to increase by ten degrees Fahrenheit during dyno runs. Previous designs saw a 35-degree-Fahrenheit jump. The exhaust system has also been fettled with, and now is even less restrictive.

GM warning 800,000 owners that their cars may need oil changes more frequently than they say

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

The days of changing your engine oil every 3,000 miles are long gone thanks to most cars having automatic oil monitoring systems, but about 800,000 General Motors vehicles apparently have incorrect monitoring software that is leading to premature engine component wear. According to Autoweek, certain 2010-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain models equipped with 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines could be going too long in between oil changes resulting in a higher-than-normal number of warranty claims for the engine's balance chain. The balance chain links the balance shaft to the crankshaft, and a worn one can produce higher noise levels.
As a fix, GM dealers will be reprogramming the software for the monitors in an effort to reduce the interval between oil changes, which varies based on driving habits and conditions. Through February 2015, the software update will be done at no cost to vehicle owners, but since this is not a recall, after that point, it will be up to the discretion of dealers as to whether or not they will charge for the service. What isn't immediately clear is whether GM plans on giving assistance to out-of-warranty customers who are experiencing engine issues from the worn chain.
