Columbus, Ohio, United States

For sale is my 2000 Chevrolet Corvette convertible.

As you can see, the car features corvette's classic Torch Red exterior paired with a Light Oak leather trimmed interior.

This car has been garage kept its entire life, and is in really excellent condition for its age/mileage. You really have to see the car in person to fully appreciate it and it's details. (Even comes with the original window sticker from the previous owner.)

Finally as another plus, in addition to being a very fast car, you can easily get 30+ mpg when driving this around on the highway!

A little about the car:

  • 5.7 liter 345 HP V8
  • Traction Control System
  • Bose audio system
  • 4 wheel independent suspension
  • 4 wheel disc brakes and abs
  • Tire pressure monitor system
  • Heated rear window
  • Heated mirrors
  • Anti-theft system
  • Halogen headlights

Added options from the factory:

  • 6 speed manual
  • polished aluminum wheels
  • 12 disc cd changer
  • heads up display (rpm, speed etc shows up in windshield)
  • adjustable leather seats
  • dual zone electronic air conditioning
  • six way power passenger seat
  • power telescoping & manual tilt steering column
  • memory package
  • fog lamps
  • color keyed front floor mats
  • The previous owner also had a Corsa exhaust kit installed on the car.
  • Aftermarket shift knob, also courtesy of the previous owner
Plenty of neat technology in this Vette:

SCV speed control volume that can adjust the volume of the Bose stereo according to the speed at which you are driving.

Memory settings for up to 3 drivers (controls seat and mirror position, temp and radio settings). So you can unlock the car with key 1, and everything will automatically adjust to your liking. A second driver can later unlock the car with key 2, and everything will automatically adjust to their needs etc.

The heads up display (HUD) is adjustable in terms of position, brightness, and information displayed. You can choose to have it show the speed only, the tachometer only, or the speed, tach, and additional gauges.

Twighlight and parade settings for the lights.

Active handling to help keep the car moving in a straight line (can be toggled on or off).

Tire pressure monitoring system can tell you the PSI of each tire, and alerts you if any are high or low.

Again, this car has some minor flaws, but is in great shape overall.
  • always garage kept
  • smoke free
  • no mechanical issues
  • no dents
  • convertible top seals well (never gets driven in the rain anyway)
  • paint in overall pretty good condition
  • brakes work well
Just about every person that sees this corvette comments on how great it looks for its age, many saying it looks nearly brand new.

Car must be picked up in person, cash only please. (The deposit, however, can be made on Paypal.)

Feel free to message me with any questions or offers.

Thanks for looking!
Edward

GM says hybrid Corvette no laughing matter [w/poll]

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

When Mark Reuss was in LA recently, he sat down to have a few words with the scribes at the Los Angeles Times. When the issue of a hybrid Corvette came up, Reuss answered with "Don't laugh." The General Motors president is a complete fan of the possibility, calling it "attractive" and "really fun," believing it would improve GM expertise and that "people would love it."
Naturally, the president being supportive of an idea doesn't give indication that a hybrid Corvette is on the way. However, with supercars like the Porsche 918 Spyder and Ferrari LaFerrari giving hybrid tech a solid, if remote, place in the performance car world, the inexorable trickle-down of technology means we shouldn't be surprised if and when it does happen.
And now that we have that non-negative half-answer to a speculative question, it would be irresponsible for us not to commence rumormilling for the C8 Corvette. Taking Reuss at his word, the C8 will obviously be a hybrid with all-wheel-drive - the left side wheels driven with electric motors, the right side with the mid-mounted, four-cylinder diesel engine. With coefficient of drag of just .16, figure on a 0-to-60 mile-per-hour time of under 2 seconds and an all-electric range of something like 30 miles at top speed. Don't forget, folks, you read it here first.

Final C6 Corvette built in Bowling Green

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

With all of the attention given to the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray lately, you could be forgiven for thinking that it's already well along in production, yet tooling up for the new C7 has only just begun. In fact, production of the outgoing C6 generation in Bowling Green, Kentucky just halted on Thursday.
As the C6 has aged, production numbers have predictably ebbed along with demand, but this year, the addition of the 427 and 60th anniversary models resulted in an uptick in vehicles built - this, despite a model year shortened by around 25 percent to accomodate the new model changeover. The final C6 Corvette ever, No. 13,466 built this year, was a white 427 Convertible destined for the General Motors Heritage Center museum. The car's 7.0-liter V8 heart was assembled by Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juechter himself.
In total, Bowling Green pushed out 215,100 C6 Corvettes over nine years. If you're still a C6 fan at heart and are hoping to get a good deal on a phase-out model, step lively - Chevrolet reportedly had about 6,100 unsold units, which Autoweek suggests is good for around five and a half months of supply at the model's current sales rates. Given that demand will likely slacken even further as the C7 draws closer, that should be a big enough stockpile to keep dealers satisfied until 2014 Stingrays begin showing up on their forecourts in December.

Are you the 2014 Corvette Grand Sport?

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

When are stripes more than just stripes? Follow up question: Is the product development team at Chevrolet really cocky enough to hide the next C7 Corvette variant in plain sight? This very recently spotted, and ostensibly obscured C7 asks a lot more questions than it answers, but there's at least some evidence to support that it might be the next Corvette Grand Sport.
The first and most obvious tip-off that something is up with this 'Vette revolves around those silver stripes. Obviously the stripes themselves don't necessarily denote a new model. However, when Chevy recently launched its "colorizer" website for the Stingray, there was no provision made for racing stripes - solid colors only.
Grand Sport exhibit number two is actually an incriminating lack of badges. The production Corvettes we've seen to date have all carried Stingray badges on their fenders, just behind the vent. The car seen in these images has no such badges, which is an intriguing omission on an car that looks like a production-spec vehicle otherwise.
