Up for auction is my 1999 corvette. I purchased from a gentleman that was moving and decided to sell. I knew the car was clean and a sound investment. I had a full dealer inspection performed prior to buying. The dealership said this was a very clean 1999 corvette. I already have too many toys as it is. Let's just say my insurance company loves me. I've decided to sell to help with some home renovations in the spring. This is a fun car for the money. Surprisingly good on fuel on the highway. Get in and drive it home. Please ask questions. Check my feedback, I will try my best to answer all questions and provide as much detail as possible. I bought the car exactly how you see it.
LOW STARTING PRICE!!!
Details:
Very clean for 1999
124,000 miles
Clean Carfax
6 speed manual transmission
Stage two (2) performance clutch (Firm clutch pedal action)
Paint is very good condition considering the mileage and age of the car (a couple chips and scratches. would need to be up close to see them)
Runs and handles great
Well maintained
Leather seat covers are replaced OEM
New wiper motor installed
Glass is tinted (Don't know the %)
Three (3) keys
B&M ripper shifter (installed) and factory shifter (to go with)
Removable targa top (not glass)
New OEM corvette floor mats
Touch screen navigation w/Bluetooth
Upgraded C6 wheel package with new F1 tires
BBK cold air intake
Borla stainless steel exhaust
Light covers have been "smoked"
Bose sound system
Heads up display
New OEM Bose speakers still in box to go with (upgrade)
Very clean car inside, under and out
Known Issues:
Driver seat motor sicks in the up & down positions from time to time
Front tire pressure sensor is bad.
The driver side headlight looks to be a little out of adjustment (very minor). You need to be front and center of the car and about three foot away to see the alignment issue.
The gear ratio has been changed. I don't know the new ratio but it drives fine on interstate at high speeds. The guy I bought it from lost the paper work. I can notice a difference compared to other corvettes around 50-70 mph range.
The after market shifter makes the shift pattern very close. Fine when you get use to it... The car has not had a skip-shift-eliminator kit installed. C5's are famous for this pesky shift skip from the factory (Google it). I would recommend installing one if you stay with the B&M shifter.
The front drive side fender has had a repair at the lower corner where it fastens to the rocker panel below the fender vent.

Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]
Mon, 18 Mar 2013Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. You can check out the brief press release below for more information, or head over to the Callaway site to plunk down a deposit - but before you do, we want to know... do you find this C7 wagon interesting? Vote in our poll below, then feel free to leave a few lines in Comments.

GM dealers unhappy about pickup prices
Mon, 21 Oct 2013The backlash is beginning. Following General Motors' price hike of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra last week, dealers across the country are expressing their ire over increasing prices in the face of rebates and discounts on trucks from Ford and Ram.
Speaking to Automotive News, Sam Pilato, the general manager at Dimmitt Chevrolet in Clearwater, FL, Silverados are "selling very poorly." W. Carrol Smith, the president of Monument Chevrolet in the heart of truck country, Texas, said, "[GM's] position is that the vehicle stands on its own and it doesn't need a bigger rebate. That's not what the market is telling us."
According to AN, that's the general attitude amongst Chevy and GMC dealers across the country, where the twin pickups are getting butchered in sales by competitors offering up to $9,000 off their sticker prices. Part of the problem for GM is that its trucks are arriving on the market near the end of the current F-150's lifecycle, a fact that Ford has taken advantage of.
Read This: Auto Extremist advocates for Corvette as brand with multiple models [w/poll]
Fri, 25 Jan 2013The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette really grinds Peter De Lorenzo's gears. Or, more accurately, the self-anointed Auto Extremist has an issue with what he sees as mismanagement of the legendary sports car by General Motors executives. In a new editorial on his website, De Lorenzo argues it's time to split Corvette off from Chevrolet to create an all-new brand, complete with a model range with at least three new takes on the sports car. Capable of fully leveraging the successes of the Corvette Racing program and brandishing the full might of GM's technical prowess, the Corvette brand would theoretically give Porsche something to sweat over.
Sure, that sounds like a party, but given GM's troubled track record when it comes to launching (let alone managing) brands, we say that's slippery slope that could just as easily end with the whole Corvette franchise in the scrap bin. Either way, the notion is certainly an interesting one. Head over to Auto Extremist to take in the full editorial, and then let us know what you think in Comments. Should GM split off its most storied nameplate?
