You are bidding on my 1994 Admiral Blue Corvette that is in very good condition overall.  This is a great color and the paint has great shine, showing minimal wear considering it's age.  Options include an automatic transmission, power windows/door locks/mirrors, cruise control, sport seats (all bladders and bolsters work perfectly), blue tinted clear top, Delco-Bose cassette/CD player, automatic climate control, low tire pressure warning indicator and performance axle ratio.  The coolant and brake fluid were flushed and replaced in 08/2012 and the oil was just changed in 07/2013.  The car passed California smog testing with flying colors in 07/2013 and I just installed a brand new battery (08/2013).  The previous owner only had one set of keys and a damaged but functioning key fob, so that's what I have to pass along as well.  The nose was repainted by the previous owner after a minor mishap with a high curb which is why the corners are blue instead of black (between the lights).  The original owner's manual, wheel lock and roof removal tool are in the console.  I'll also include a second blue tinted clear top that can be used as a core or sold (signs of wear, minor cracks in acrylic).  Clear title in hand.

NEW ITEMS SINCE 01/2012

Coverking seat covers - The leather is tired and has a small tear in the driver seat outer bolster (typical).  Rather than reskinning the seats I covered them and they look great and are very comfortable.

Lloyds black floor mats

Muffler eliminators with LT1 tips (sounds AWESOME!)

17 X 9.5 black Grand Sport replica wheels with 275/40/17 Kuhmo Ecsta ASX tires - These were lightly used at the time of purchase and to date have less than 3,000 miles on them.  They look brand new with zero curb rash.

Blackout headliner for clear top - keeps the interior significantly cooler when in and is easily removable for open skies

K&N air filter

Console shifter plate

Leather shifter boot

Leather console cover/cushion

Rear emblem

Billet throttle body plate

TWO covers included with the car - QuickSilver indoor/outdoor and a Mid America Soft Stretch red/black indoor

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW...NONE OF THIS AFFECTS DRIVABILITY SO I NEVER CONSIDERED THEM URGENT

There is a minor oil leak

Older window tint could use some freshening but still looks good overall

Outer window sweeps could use replacement ($60.00 part)

There is a tear in the rear hatch weatherstrip on the driver's side but there is no leaking

The A/C doesn't blow cold air.  The fans and vents all work perfectly it just never cools way down.  It hasn't since I've owned the car and I haven't had it diagnosed, but it may just need a charge.  I'm more of a windows down guy so I haven't missed it.

This is a great looking, great driving and great running Corvette so bid with confidence. Good luck!

2014 Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra full configurators truck in

Sat, 15 Jun 2013

You can now put prices to your wildest option-sheet dreams of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. A microsite for the full-size pickup truck twins has been up since January, and now the full-blown configurator is live and ready to take your virtual orders. The only two chassis configurations available at the moment are the Crew Cab with either a short or standard bed - Regular and Double Cab versions will come later. In Silverado flavors that will run you $32,710 for the short box, $33,010 for the standard box, while the Sierra adds a $1,500 premium to both of those prices, and destination and handling for both models adds another $995.
Since these are American pickups the list of modifications is lengthy, but we added $11,450 in just two steps by starting with the Silverado Crew Cab and standard bed, then checking four-wheel drive and the LTZ Z71 package. Our final truck, resplendent in Brownstone Metallic paint, heated and cooled Cocoa/Dune perforated leather seating and tasty details like chrome recovery hooks, and engine block heater and LED cargo box lighting, rang up $57,285 at the candy store.
They'll be on dealer lots sometime this summer, so now's a good time to start practicing your box-checking.

Chevrolet donates 300 vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Super Storm Sandy took out a lot of automobiles in its path of destruction through the Northeast last October. The number surpassed 250,000 at last count, and a few of those were owned by Chevrolet - cars either sitting on dealership lots or waiting at port to be shipped off. Rendered unsellable by the water damage inflicted by Sandy, these vehicles were facing the crusher. But Chevy didn't send them there.
Instead, Chevy had a better idea: It will be donating 300 of these vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders at Guardian Centers in Perry, GA. Chevy is the official automotive partner of Guardian Centers, which is an 830-acre facility that trains first responders in disaster preparedness. Junked cars are practically a consumable commodity there, where a full-size cityscape simulator gives trainees an entire urban center in which to train for all sorts of rescue operations and disaster scenarios.
Chevy says its particular vehicles will be used "in conjunction with role players for wide area searches, traffic congestion in emergency situations, counter terrorism, public order and mass casualty exercises." While grim scenarios all, we're certainly glad there are people out there preparing for the unexpected. While a zombie apocalypse isn't officially on the list of potential disasters to prepare for, when the virus hits, we'll be hot-footing it to Perry, GA to hang with these guys and gals.

Tarantino's stolen Chevy Malibu from Pulp Fiction recovered after 19 years [w/video]

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Quentin Tarantino fans will likely remember Vincent Vega's cherry 1964 Chevrolet Malibu Convertible in Pulp Fiction. In a movie drenched in automotive references, the Malibu is very nearly a character in and of itself, and it serves as the subject of Vega's soliloquy about the kind of man who vandalizes another's automobile. It also happened to be Tarantino's personal car when the film was shot, and was apparently stolen shortly after production wrapped. Now police have located the car some 19 years later.
As it turns out, the thieves cloned the vehicle identification number from another '64 Malibu and had the car registered under the new digits. It was then sold to an unsuspecting buyer. Police happened upon the duplicate VINs while investigating another potential theft. Right now, it's unclear whether Tarantino has taken possession of the Chevrolet, if it has remained in the possession of the fraud victim, or whether it's caught somewhere in the gears of justice. Either way, you can catch Vega's memorable thoughts on the car keying in the Pulp Fiction clip below. But consider yourself warned: the video contains explicit language as Not Safe For Work as it comes.
