WHEN I LISTED THIS CAR AND SEEN THE CAR FAX I ALMOST FELL OFF MY CHAIR. IT SAID THIS CAR HAD FRONT END DAMAGE IN 1991. I HAD ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA. . I BOUGHT THE CAR IN 1996 FROM MY BROTHER WHO WAS THE 2ND OWNER. THE FIRST SELLER DID NOT DISCLOSE THIS INFORMATION TO HIM. I'M STILL IN SHOCK. I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE DAMAGE WAS BUT IT WAS REPAIRED TO PERFECTION, THE CAR LOOKS AND RUNS BEAUTIFULLY. IT HAS NEVER SEEN SNOW AND HAS BEEN COVERED AND GARAGED FOR THE PAST 10 YEARS. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP IN JUNE AND HAD IT SERVICED SO I COULD PUT IT BACK ON THE ROAD (It was completely gone over and the repair bill was $8000, I have the receipts) IT HAD ONLY 24,000 MILES ON IT WHEN I BOUGHT IT FROM MY BROTHER IN 1996 SO I ONLY PUT 4,000 MILES ON IT IN 17 YEARS. THE LOUVERS WERE FACTORY INSTALLED AND MAKES THE CAR LOOK SPECTACULAR. IF YOU WANT A PAMPERED RED 89 CORVETTE WITH LOW MILAGE THAT THAT WAS OWNED BY A SENIOR LADY AND WILL TURN ALL HEADS, THIS IS THE CAR YOU WANT. PLEASE ASK ANY QUESTIONS OR REQUEST MORE PICTURES. Hot Wheels Camaro to make big debut at Indy
Fri, 05 Apr 2013Chevrolet handed over the keys to 33 Hot Wheels Camaro Convertible Indianapolis 500 festival cars this week. Race directors get the luxury of driving the droptops around Indianapolis in an ongoing tradition with roots all the way back to the 1960s. The stunt is supposed to remind area residents that the Indy 500 is right around the corner. The cars are our first look at the special Camaro Hot Wheels Edition in convertible form, and they are slated to head to dealers after a one-time production run. The cars also represent the first time in history full-size Hot Wheels have been offered for sale by an automaker.
The cars will be available in both the previously seen coupe bodystyle and this convertible configuration, and will feature metallic blue paint and special wheels with the iconic redline accent. Buyers will be able to choose between the V6-powered 2LT trim and the V8-powered 2SS guise.
Hot Wheels says the original Custom Camaro toy was one of the original 16 1:64-scale diecasts, and it remains one of the company's most valuable collector items today.
GM throttles back Chevy Malibu, Buick LaCrosse production over swollen inventories
Wed, 06 Feb 2013As inventory of the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse continues to pile up, General Motors will be idling its Fairfax Assembly Plant for two weeks, according to Automotive News. This move comes about a month after the plant was shut down for three weeks in late December and early January for the same reason. As of January 31, the GM had a 94-day supply of Malibu stock while the LaCrosse was a little worse with a 117-day supply.
Just last week, GM announced that it would be investing $600 million in upgrading this plant, but it's unclear what future plans the company has in store for Fairfax considering slow sales of both the plant's models. We do expect a refreshed and more luxurious LaCrosse shortly and an early design update for the Malibu to be announced at some point this year, although we have had no official word as to when either will happen.
C7 Corvette turbo with 1,000 horsepower promised from Hennessey
Mon, 25 Feb 2013If you can't wait for the next-generation Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Hennessey says they will have you covered. The Texas-based company has announced it will offer a spate of upgrades for the 2014 Corvette ranging from a range of bolt-on options all the way up to a 1,000-horsepower, twin-turbo system. Buyers can start with a cold air intake, cat-back exhaust or stainless steel long-tube headers, but Hennessey says it will also offer up three stages of forced induction mayhem should those bits and baubles not provide enough thrust.
Those choices start with a supercharger system good for up to 700 hp, though Hennessey will gladly ditch the blower in favor of two turbos. Doing so will spin the crank to the tune of 800 horsepower all the way up to a certifiably ludicrous 1,000 ponies. There's no word on how much these tricks will cost you - or when they will be available, as we're guessing they haven't gotten their hands on the car yet - but you can head over to the Hennessey site to drop them a line if you're curious.
