Excellent award-winning corvette, runs and drives terrific, 78,600 miles, garaged, never driven in snow. It is Medium Blue Metallic with 4+3 standard transmission, original stock L98 motor, Z52 Sport Handling package, A/C and sport seats. I've done a lot of work on the car over the last 8 years that I've owned her including:
- New top
- new ball joints, wheel bearings and tie rod ends
- new battery (with quick disconnect)
- upgraded stereo (original stereo with Bose amplified speakers included, but need to be repaired)
- new windshield
- new KYB shocks (original bilstein's included)
- new clutch master cylinder
- newer exhaust
- wheels professionally cleaned, polished, and sealed
- rear end and transmission fluids replaced last year
- oil changed every 3,000 miles with full synthetic oil
- miscellaneous interior pieces and carpeting

Given all that, car needs:
- tires
- seat covers
- fuel injectors (I have them, just need to be installed)
- power antenna
- bezel over gauges is cracked

The car starts right up when engine is cold, but the fuel injectors leak a little, so car cranks for 3 seconds before it starts when engine is warm.

Paint is good from 5 feet, but has some blemishes. There is a paint bubble top right corner of hood. Hood has small amounts of road rash (unavoidable) on it, and some streaks on lower part of fender on drivers side.

2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Convertible is the track car for sun worshippers

Fri, 11 Apr 2014

Supercharged, 6.2-liter V8? Check. Seven-speed manual? Check. Obsession with weight? Check.
What did you expect when Chevrolet said it was bringing a new Corvette variant to the 2014 New York Auto Show? Maybe a sticker and trim package, like the C6 Corvette Grand Sport or a tie-in deal like the Black Widow car from Chicago? On the opposite end, maybe there was an even more hardcore Z06 waiting in the wings. Who knew?

Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.

GM dealers unhappy about pickup prices

Mon, 21 Oct 2013

The backlash is beginning. Following General Motors' price hike of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra last week, dealers across the country are expressing their ire over increasing prices in the face of rebates and discounts on trucks from Ford and Ram.
Speaking to Automotive News, Sam Pilato, the general manager at Dimmitt Chevrolet in Clearwater, FL, Silverados are "selling very poorly." W. Carrol Smith, the president of Monument Chevrolet in the heart of truck country, Texas, said, "[GM's] position is that the vehicle stands on its own and it doesn't need a bigger rebate. That's not what the market is telling us."
According to AN, that's the general attitude amongst Chevy and GMC dealers across the country, where the twin pickups are getting butchered in sales by competitors offering up to $9,000 off their sticker prices. Part of the problem for GM is that its trucks are arriving on the market near the end of the current F-150's lifecycle, a fact that Ford has taken advantage of.
