It's spring and time to get a classic convertible!

I have a nice driver 1974 Corvette convertible for sale. A California car, which means rust free frame and birdcage. The car has a lot done to it to make it a good driver quality car to enjoy.

Here's a list of things done:

rebuilt NOM  engine---THE ENGINE IS A 1968 with HF code which is a 327 4 BBL high compression, 3914660 block, T1221HF, 18C115791 on pad

new clutch

new brake calipers, brake pads, and master cylinder

Fresh paint about 1 year old

Brand new soft top(we are in process of installing, so pictures show it off car)

Car starts, runs, and drives nice.

This is last year of true dual exhaust, smog exempt here in California and probably most states

The car has power steering, standard brakes, and is a non-AC car

All gauges work except clock

The Cragar SS wheels are mint condition with new tires

There is no radio in the car, so new owner can go original or custom.

The front and rear bumpers are new fiberglass reproductions, the rear bumper correct looking with split.

NOTE: The previous owner preferred the no emblem look and smaller steering wheel.

For the Buy It Now price we will add all stock emblems, replace the Cragars with 15X8 rally wheels with caps and trim rings, and put a correct original steering wheel on for those who want a stock look.

The car has a clear California title and also has one of it's two original California blue plates

Any other questions please call Steve at (619) 210-4444

I can help with transportation logistics, however are transportation costs are the responsibility of the buyer

International buyers welcome!

UAW to vote on strike at Kentucky Corvette plant

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

The current wait time for a new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is well, not short. With word of a strike at the Bowling Green, KY factory responsible for seventh-generation sports car, though, that wait time could end up growing substantially.
Now, a strike is still a ways off. UAW Local 2164, which represents the 800 workers responsible for screwing the Corvette together, is set to vote on authorizing a strike today, but even if the employees give the action a go, it's far from a sure thing. According to The Tennessean, both regional and national union officials would need to put their stamp of approval on strike action.
"The membership has to vote to strike, but it's just a step in the process," said Gary Casteel, the UAW's Region 8 director and one of the people that would need to authorize a strike action. Casteel told The Tennessean, "It's purely a local situation, though. They are having some issues with the local management."

Man surprises girlfriend with C7 Corvette

Mon, 07 Oct 2013

How would you react if someone just showed up at your place of work with a new, 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, complete with all the trimmings? While a lot of us would likely be flipping out over the still rare sports car, it's a fair bet many more of us would be responding like Pattie here, whose boyfriend stopped by her work to show her her new C7.
Speechless and shocked as she seems, she does end up taking it out for a drive, despite claiming she wasn't really outfitted to handle the car's seven-speed manual transmission at the time. From the sound of the video, we got the impression that she knew the car was coming, just not that it was anywhere near ready for delivery. It also, as Pattie says, seems like her boyfriend is more excited about the car than she (which, can we blame him?). Take a look down below for the full video of this C7 Stingray delivery.

Why does the Corvette Stingray have so many vents? Here's why

Sun, 27 Jan 2013

Just looking at the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, it's not hard to see that the car's design was created with aerodynamics at the forefront, but Chevrolet designers point out exactly what went into designing the iconic coupe in a pair of recently released videos. The videos show the Corvette going through early design phases, including clay models and wind tunnel tests, as well as talking to the car's chief engineer, Tadge Juechter.
Both videos help explain various aspects of the C7 Corvette, but it's the aero tuning of the car that is most interesting. This includes extra attention paid to the lower air dam and vented hood to help reduce drag and lift, while the rear quarter inlets are for differential and transmission cooling. Juechter said that some of these aero-tuned elements were inspired from GM's involvement in racing.
If you have about five minutes and you can't get enough information about the new 'Vette, then check out the videos posted below.
