I purchased it  a year and a half ago . from a friend who was selling it to me because he had another  Vett he was buying .   This Vett was restored  several years ago  but my friend did a lot of additional work to it , the trans was rebuilt  when I bought it and  all the things that are listed on the list ( SEE PHOTO OF THE LIST )  were done in the past year . This is a beautiful  & reliable  Vett it is a Stock Driver .  it shows 2,900 miles on speedo  that is what  miles where put on it since  the restoration  was done . the speedo  & all the gauges were restored then  & all are working  now . I am a private collector and don't work on my cars  , I have professionals do all necessary work when needed. I spent additioal money on add ons that I wanted without losing the integrity of the car....... The I Phone charger / I Phone music library , small hidden Stereo speakers under dash as to not cut holes in the door panels  etc .  . I don't know if this is a numbers matching  car but if you have someone to look at it who knows how , please do so . as I said , I don't know  much about that but I had the Vett checked out by my mechanic before buying it . This Corvette is a Driver Class , on a scale of  1 to 10  this is a 7  with 10 being a fresh restoration .  I was told by my mechanic it is the 5 foot rule , meaning at 5 ft. It's perfect looking .   I don't know a lot about the things a Corvette dealer or religious Vett collector  knows  but  I would drive this Vett anywhere  and be comfortable knowing I'll get there .  My other classics are only driven less than 30 miles to car shows  . Anymore miles they get trailered . This Vett runs & looks as good as my other cars @ 5ft. I bought it to drive to car ralleys & Sunday drives along the coast hwy  and Sunday brunch with my wife. This Vett always gets attention & thumbs up when I drive it  .................  NO WARRANTY , SOLD AS -IS ..........................

GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes

Mon, 01 Oct 2012

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.

GM warning 800,000 owners that their cars may need oil changes more frequently than they say

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

The days of changing your engine oil every 3,000 miles are long gone thanks to most cars having automatic oil monitoring systems, but about 800,000 General Motors vehicles apparently have incorrect monitoring software that is leading to premature engine component wear. According to Autoweek, certain 2010-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain models equipped with 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines could be going too long in between oil changes resulting in a higher-than-normal number of warranty claims for the engine's balance chain. The balance chain links the balance shaft to the crankshaft, and a worn one can produce higher noise levels.
As a fix, GM dealers will be reprogramming the software for the monitors in an effort to reduce the interval between oil changes, which varies based on driving habits and conditions. Through February 2015, the software update will be done at no cost to vehicle owners, but since this is not a recall, after that point, it will be up to the discretion of dealers as to whether or not they will charge for the service. What isn't immediately clear is whether GM plans on giving assistance to out-of-warranty customers who are experiencing engine issues from the worn chain.

Chevy Sonic shreds like a skateboard

Tue, 19 Mar 2013

Despite the fact that the 2013 Chevy Sonic is a fun, plucky little thing - especially in ever-so-slightly hotter RS guise - it is not, in fact, a skateboard. But don't tell that to rapper Theophilus London.
In General Motors' latest spot for the Chevrolet compact, London needs to make a quick run to the store for some milk. And even though, once again, the Sonic is not a skateboard, it ollies, pops and gets air because, you know, it's just so much fun to throw around.
If this video looks familiar to you, it's because this is the full ad that we first got a preview of in Chevy's longer, full-line spot, where the brand's "Find New Roads" tagline was introduced. Scroll down to see this dedicated Sonic spot, along with the older ad, and remember, the Sonic is still - still - not a skateboard.
