UP FOR SALE IS THIS SUPER RARE 1962 CORVAIR RAMPSIDE PICKUP. AS YOU'LL SEE IF YOU DO YOUR HOMEWORK THERE ARE ONLY A FEW OUT THERE FOR SALE AND THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO OWN ONE YOURSELF. IF YOU'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR ONE OF THESE THEN I'M SURE YOU ARE AWARE OF THE VIDEO OF JAY LENO'S REBUILD. IF YOU'RE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THESE TRUCKS THEN TAKE A LOOK AROUND ON LINE BECAUSE THIS IS AN INTERESTING AND RARE VEHICLE TO OWN. THIS ONE IS IN GOOD CONDITION AND WOULD MAKE A GREAT EASY RESTO PROJECT. I DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT THE TRUCK AS I HAVE NOT OWNED IT VERY LONG. I'VE TAKEN AS MANY PICTURES AS POSSIBLE TO SHOW THE CONDITION OF THE TRUCK. YOU WILL SEE SOME MINOR ROT ON THE LOWER PANELS ON THE LEFT SIDE OF TRUCK AND THE HINGE ATTACHMENT OF THE DRIVERS DOOR. THE REST OF THE TRUCK IS SOLID AS A ROCK AS FAR AS I CAN SEE. ALL THE GLASS IS GOOD AND THE WINDOWS ROLL UP AND DOWN FINE. PLEASE TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT THE PHOTOS AS THEY TELL THE STORY BETTER. YOU WILL BE BIDDING TO OWN AND YOU WILL BE ABLE TO PURCHASE THIS TRUCK WELL BELOW THE OTHERS YOU MAY SEE OUT THERE. THE NADA VALUE FOR THESE TRUCKS IS APPROX 10K LOW 20K AVERAGE AND 30K HIGH AND THE RESERVE WILL BE SET WAY BELOW LOW RETAIL SO GO FOR IT. THE TRUCK IS LOCATED IN LAS VEGAS SO THATS WHERE YOU'D BE PICKING IT UP FROM. I HAVE SO MANY PROJECTS AND I'VE DECIDED THAT THIS WEST COAST TRUCK SHOULD STAY ON THE WEST COAST. IT WOULD MAKE AN AWESOME SURF TRUCK. IF I SHIP IT BACK TO NY I'D HAVE TO ADD THAT 1,100.00 COST INTO THE PRICE SO THAT MAKES IT EVEN CHEAPER. ASK ANY QUESTIONS YOU LIKE. REMEMBER THIS IS A NON RUNNING VEHICLE SO YOU'LL HAVE TO SHIP IT HOME. JEFF 516-606-4826

Mother's Day Suggestion No. 2,506
Thu, 02 May 2013With Mother's Day coming up, we're always looking for new gift ideas to celebrate the occasion, but hot laps around a track might not be the best suggestion for Darius Khashabi. In a video posted on YouTube, Khashabi straps his mom into the passenger seat of his C6 Corvette Z06 for some laps around Sonoma Raceway (formerly Infineon Raceway) at "60 percent" with comical results.
Now this isn't the first time Mama Khashabi has gotten seat time in her son's car around a track, as his YouTube page shows him pulling a similar stunt - with similar results - around Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca last year. Scroll down for the video, but know that the action really gets going at around the 1:40 mark.
Chevrolet planning low-cost Corvette under Stingray?
Wed, 27 Feb 2013If you're burnt out on musings about the Chevrolet Corvette, you'll want to go ahead and skip this post. Motor Trend reports General Motors is hard at work on a low-cost version of the seventh-generation sports car for 2015. Rumored to be called the Corvette Coupe, the car will forgo the Stingray and skip the 450-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine in favor of a 5.3-liter V8 with under 400 ponies. If you're keeping track, that's a shade of the same engine found behind the headlights of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra.
The report also suggests the Coupe will receive a number of aesthetic tweaks to separate it from the Stingray, including different front and rear fascias as well as new front fenders and a rear diffuser. Motor Trend says the point of all this is to cut the car's price tag, which means we may see a Corvette on showroom floors for less than $50,000 if this car comes to fruition.
