1960 Chevy Corvair, this is a true barn find, was in a shed for 25 years when I found it . It very clean as pictures show, I gave it a quick tune up changed oil and filter, cleaned out fuel system, put some tires on it and re-built brakes cause the pedal was frozen could not move it. Its all there except top of air cleaner I could not find it in the shed and since then shed has been torn down as is was falling down. It has great patina has a dent in back by passenger tail light, not much of a dent, I put a new tail light on it, has a crack it windshield all other glass is in great shape, I have driven it and its a cruzer, gas fired heater, radio works , and its a four door very cool lil car and they do great on gas, it is on a non-op and I have the pink now as the owner had passed away so there was no paper. This was #984 off the asymbly line in San Jose Ca and has been in Ca all of its life, NO RUST! this is a neet little car but with any car that has been sitting this long there are things that need to be done.

Subprime financing on the rise in new car sales, leasing too
Fri, 07 Dec 2012We all remember the financial crisis that began several years back. At its core was a splurge of subprime lending for housing loans. The housing bubble burst, triggering a collapse of the mortgage-backed securities market. Apparently, those types of loans still exist in the automotive industry, and the market share for these types of "nonprime, subprime, and deep subprime," loans has grown 13.6 percent compared to the third quarter a year ago.
According to an Automotive News report, high-risk lending expanded to 24.8 percent of total loans in Q3, up from 21.9 percent for this time last year. As this level increased, average credit scores of borrowers dropped to 755, down from 763 a year ago. In that time, the average financing amount increased $90 per vehicle, to $25,963.
At 818, Volvo maintains the highest per-owner credit score, while Mitsubishi has the lowest, at 694. The highest rate of borrowers was at Toyota, with 14 percent of the market, followed by Ford with 13.1 percent and Chevrolet at 11.1.

Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system works
Fri, 22 Mar 2013When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.
