Truck is in extremely good shape for 2004. Not mint but very very very good shape. We used the truck as the Kenwood eXcelon demo vehicle for the past 2 years here at Big Picture AVU. Truck itself is in very good shape. I didn't drive it much further than back and forth to the store so not much wear and tear since I've had it. Tires are in pretty good shape as well. It has been parked during the winters and as of the moment only has storage insurance on it. My wife used to be a technician at one of the service shops here in Cranbrook and went over the truck regularly. If it needed to be fixed... it got fixed! Truck does not leak or sweat from anywhere. This truck literally needs nothing. I purchased it locally from Northstar GM as an "optimum used" vehicle. I had a levelling kit installed in it by Integra Tire which allowed for the slightly larger 31" tires.
Really good solid vehicle both mechanically and cosmetically. As I mentioned this truck was used as a Kenwood demo vehicle for Big Picture so it did have a really nice audio system in it. If you are interested in car audio I can arrange to have a nice system put back into it otherwise I will just put a basic one back into it. The graphics on the rocker panels and rear glass ARE NOT paint. They are vinyl graphics made up by our friends at Selkirk Signs. They are 100% removable with NO damage to the paint underneath. The rocker graphics actually will have protected the paint so whether you want them or not it will have been a benefit to you that they were there! The entire truck is also lined in sound damping material (dynamat) which we used to improve the sound quality of the system however if you are not into car audio it also does a great job at keeping out road noise! This will be the quietest Colorado in town!

I want this truck sold and will consider realistic offers. I would also consider a trade for a Ford Sport Trac or a 4 door Jeep Wrangler.

I will only sell this truck to someone that can finish the paperwork with me in person. In other words NOBODY who wants to buy it for top dollar who conveniently is stationed in Australia but would be more than happy to cover the shipping costs!
I require a $500 deposit when the auction ends. This is the only form of payment that I will accept through paypal. The rest needs to be sorted out in person. If you live near the Cranbrook area the truck is available in person and for a reasonable offer I have no issue ending this auction.

Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]

Mon, 18 Mar 2013

Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. You can check out the brief press release below for more information, or head over to the Callaway site to plunk down a deposit - but before you do, we want to know... do you find this C7 wagon interesting? Vote in our poll below, then feel free to leave a few lines in Comments.

C7 Corvette makes inaugural ad appearance in Chevy's first spot with new slogan

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" tagline has finally been run into the ground, replaced with the Bowtie brand's "Find New Roads" slogan that's part of parent General Motors' plan to unify its everyday brand's marketing efforts worldwide. The new Chevrolet campaign was ushered in on prime time last night during the Grammy Awards on CBS, and the first spot, a 90-second full-line ad, also marks the first appearance of the 2014 Corvette Stingray in a commercial.
Being a full-line ad, the commercial is composed of vignettes centered on different vehicles in the brand's lineup. The all-new 2014 Impala also makes its first commercial appearance in dapper fashion, and time is spent on a skateboarding Sonic and a bouquet of brightly colored Spark hatchbacks driven by fashionable women. The ad starts and ends with Chevy's green halo car, the Volt, along with a young girl with her robotic dog (yes, really).
Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" campaign got off to a rocky start in the fall of 2010, but it did last for a couple of years with some tweaks. This new one, "Find New Roads" seems more intent on drawing new customers into the fold than the outgoing tagline, which seemed to play more toward the brand faithful. It admittedly reminds us more than a little the short-lived "Find Your Own Road" Saab motto (which, we note, was conceived while the Swedish brand was under GM's control), but no matter, we still think it's got more long-term potential than "Runs Deep."

Camaro spy shots show subtly different grille, front fascia

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

It looks like there some changes in store for the Chevrolet Camaro - the only thing is that we just don't know what Chevy has up its sleeve. Looking at these spy shots, we'd initially be inclined to think that there is just a minor facelift or a new special edition, but upon closer inspection, there are a few oddities about this car that definitely have us intrigued.
The most obvious difference on this prototype is the slightly restyled front fascia with a smaller lower air inlet and the two-bar grille. Then we get to some of the car's mysterious details. For starters, this fascia has the SS vent above the grille, but it looks to be blocked off. Granted this could just be a one-off piece used for testing. What really piqued our interest was at the rear of the car where it has quad exhaust outlets that are used on the ZL1. Could this be the LS7-powered Camaro that we reported on back in December?
At this point, your guess is as good as ours as to what we're looking at here, so let us know in the comments what you think this could be.
