2009 Cobalt SS Turbo. Factory HP is 260, 260 ft torque. GM produced a great economical sports car with Corvette inspired aluminum wheels, Brembo brakes, limited slip differential, and manual transmission while achieving 30 MPG highway mileage. Rare Black with Red/Black Leather Interior. Power steering, Brakes, windows, locks, factory sunroof, factory rear tall spoiler, Facorty installed Pioneer stereo, CD, USB, trunk-mounted subwoofer.   This Cobalt SS has only 49,339 original miles. Runs and drives perfect with no issues.   I have owned this car for about 2 years and purchased it from the original owner in Virginia. I am the second owner. This Cobalt SS has been extremely well taken care of and maintained. It has always been garage kept. Brake service including new front GM rotors at 45,000 miles. Mobil 1 oil changes every 3,000 miles. Recently inspected with Ignition recall fix and serviced at Hoskins Chevrolet, Arlington Hts., IL.     Only aftermarket parts on the car include, -ZZP catless downpipe -Muffler delete -Hahn cold air intake -Tinted windows -H&R Sportline lowering springs -Triple gauge pod with Prosport Evo digital boost gauge.   (Also have new fuel pressure, and oil temperature gauge that have never been installed, these will go with the car)   The car currently has two stock all season tires in the front, and blizzak snow tires in the back for the Summer, I would switch the Blizzak tires to the front for Winter driving.   Condition:   The condition of the car overall is very good.   Exterior has its flaws for being a five-year-old black car, but still looks wonderful. The car has just been professionally buffed and waxed by Elite Treatment in Schaumburg IL. Can see from the pictures in the garage that the paint looks like glass, and looks fantastic for a 2009 car.   The interior looks great as well. Looking at the interior you would not guess the car is five years old. No tears in the seats or anything like that. Feds open investigation into Chevy Express, Ford Freestar rust issues

Wed, 28 Dec 2011

'Tis the season... for road salt. And with that, comes rust. And what does rust bring? Well, for Ford and General Motors, a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA is looking into potential recalls issues with Chevrolet Express vans and Ford Freestar minivans.
The feds have received five complaints that rust has caused leaking fuel filler pipes on 2003 Express vans. Separately, seven complaints have been filed over excessive rust in the rear wheel wells of 2004 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans. The Freestar and Monterey went out of production in 2007. Neither issue has resulted in any crashes or injuries, according to the report.

Read This: Auto Extremist advocates for Corvette as brand with multiple models [w/poll]

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette really grinds Peter De Lorenzo's gears. Or, more accurately, the self-anointed Auto Extremist has an issue with what he sees as mismanagement of the legendary sports car by General Motors executives. In a new editorial on his website, De Lorenzo argues it's time to split Corvette off from Chevrolet to create an all-new brand, complete with a model range with at least three new takes on the sports car. Capable of fully leveraging the successes of the Corvette Racing program and brandishing the full might of GM's technical prowess, the Corvette brand would theoretically give Porsche something to sweat over.
Sure, that sounds like a party, but given GM's troubled track record when it comes to launching (let alone managing) brands, we say that's slippery slope that could just as easily end with the whole Corvette franchise in the scrap bin. Either way, the notion is certainly an interesting one. Head over to Auto Extremist to take in the full editorial, and then let us know what you think in Comments. Should GM split off its most storied nameplate?

GM recalling nearly 4,000 vehicles over airbag concerns

Thu, 31 Jan 2013

Four different General Motors vehicles from the 2012 model year are being recalled over a potential airbag issue. The driver's side airbag shorting bar in the 2012 Buick Verano and 2012 Chevrolet Camaro, Cruze and Sonic might make contact with the airbag terminals, even during a crash. If so, the airbag won't deploy when it should, possibly increasing injury to the driver.
The recall is expected to begin on February 13 for the 3,896 units that might be affected. GM will notify owners who can then take their vehicles to dealers to have the airbag coil replaced. A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration below has more info.
