Year:2008 Mileage:98500 Color: This

For sale is my 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt. Only reason I am selling is because I want to go back to a truck. I am the second owner of this vehicle. When I bought the car it had 84,000 miles on it with all of the aftermarket things already done to it. Since I have owned the vehicle it has been nothing but a great dependable car that I drove to and from work. The car currently has 98,500 miles on it and drives like new. (The mileage will go up slightly by the auctions end)This is a very smooth fun to drive low maintenance car that averages around 30 mpg. Car features keyless entry with power locks and windows. Clear Title in hand!!!

Exterior: This "blacked out" cobalt includes aftermarket headlights, aftermarket black tail light covers, black Chevrolet "bow tie" front grill and trunk emblems, 16 inch black "MSR" wheels on Falken Sincera Touring tires that have around 50% life left in them (80,000 mile warranty tires). Tinted windows. The exhaust has an upgraded chrome tip. Custom "Special Edition" Badge was added to the trunk lid (shown in pictures). The body is in great shape with no major dents or scratches other than a small hardly noticeable dent on the drivers side door where another cars door flew open and made a crease (shown in pictures). I never noticed it until a couple of weeks ago because you can only really see it from a couple of feet away. I just had the outside detailed and cleaned. The paint and the overall outside appearance of the car is great.  Windshield is in good shape with no cracks. You won't find another Cobalt like this one!!!!

Interior: The inside of the car is in good shape. The seats have no rips or stains. The back seat has an small hole in it (had it when I purchased the vehicle)(shown in pictures). The carpets and floor mats are in good shape with no tears. All of the carpet in the trunk is in great shape with no stains or rips. The instrument panel was upgraded and is a little thing that makes this car even more unique (see picture). The sound system has been upgraded to an Alpine Head Unit with Two Sony X-Plod Subs in the trunk. The casing around the right subwoofer is cracked (as shown in the picture) but this does not effect the performance of the subwoofer at all. This car defiantly packs a loud punch with the bass!!!

Mechanically: The engine is stock with no upgrades to it. The car started right up through the extremely cold winter without any problems. The automatic transmission shifts smooth. The original owner of the car had the following done to it before I purchased it: Transmission flush done at 70,000 miles, Left hub bearing replaced due to "humming", Replaced under warranty the manifold and catalytic converter, and Replaced sway bar end link. I have had no problems with the car since I bought it and nothing other than oil changes has needed to be done to the car for the 14,000 miles that I have had it. I just had the oil changed in it this past week and have been changing it every 3,000 miles. The car does not leak any oil. The alignment has been checked and is good. I had the coolant checked when it was last serviced and it tested perfect. All of the fluids have been topped off. All maintenance is up to date and current. The a/c blows cold. The power windows and locks work great. Everything works as it should.

Overall this is a great looking car that is extremely reliable and easy on the pocket book both in gas and overall maintenance.

*****I have described my car to the best of my abilities and have provided pictures that portray the cars current condition. The vehicle is being sold in  "as in" condition.  Please feel free to message me if you have more questions regarding anything about the car, I will be more than happy to answer them.  *****

I am located in O'Fallon, IL. Feel free to come look if you are close by otherwise I am located 30 minutes from St. Louis, Missouri. Fly in and drive it home.

$500 non-refundable deposit is due through Paypal within 24 hours at the end of the auction. The remaining balance must be paid within 3 days of the auctions end unless other plans have been discussed and agreed upon by myself. U.S. buyers only.

Trusted eBay member since 2006. One bad feedback from buyer who leaves negative feedback on all purchases. Cannot change it unfortunately.

Thanks for looking!

NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.

Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system works

Fri, 22 Mar 2013

When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.

More Corvette Stingray Factoids: Vanishing panel gaps and 26-mpg LT1

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
So, most of what was talked about has been expertly reported already right here on Autoblog. But, looking through our notes again, both Jeuchter and Lee added facts to the buzzing mix.
