1979 Chevrolet C20 Cheyenne 3/4 Ton

If your first thought after seeing the lead picture is "Gee, I wonder what kind of gas mileage this very utility-oriented truck gets in and around town" (or something similarly pathetic), for the love of god DON'T MESSAGE ME. I don't want to hear about how you're looking for something to haul brush on the weekends or that you want to use it to get a load of organic compost for your herb garden. If that's you, you can't handle this truck. This thing runs on beer farts and broken dreams, so you can be damn sure it won't be caught hauling some wuss-ass brush around your well manicured lawn (that you don't maintain) over in Pemberton Heights, Tarrytown, or Westlake.

Two Points:

  • This is a real truck for that divorce you're inevitably going to go through. (Hauled me through mine)
  • This is a real truck to start and rev when your daughter comes home too late with that dipshit excuse for man, Ashby (or some other rich-ass, pretty-boy name). Just watch how fast he runs when those horror movie-esque dim yellow headlights hit the side of his well exfoliated face. (Yup, got a daughter too)

This is a real truck.

Mechanical

Starts every time and scares the hell out of the neighbors. The carburetor is new (600 CFM Edelbrock), the tranny has a shift kit, it has long tube headers and flowmasters, and the rear end is a positraction unit. The wheels are later model 16" with decent tires (still plenty of tread) and no, I don't have the original 16.5 inch wheels that were original equipment on the truck. Doesn't leak oil.

Exterior

All original and ugly as shit. Straight and no cancer anywhere other than the two front corners of the hood, but ugly as shit.

Interior

Original and ugly as shit.  Seat foam is all there and no springs try to intrude into your ass, but the windshield has a crack and it's all ugly as shit.

Don't ask me if you can "buy it now" -- man-up and make me an offer if you want it so damn bad.  No reserve -- good luck.

Chevy Camaro is a good sport, wishes Ford Mustang Happy 50th

Tue, 15 Apr 2014

It was 1966 when Chevrolet launched its challenger to the wildly successful Ford Mustang, the Camaro. While the competition between the two brands was already healthy, the arrival of the Camaro set off one of the most intense, model-to-model rivalries in the industry.
That competitive spirit hasn't stopped Chevy and the Camaro from wishing Ford's iconic muscle car a Happy 50th Birthday as the Ford's April 17 anniversary rolls around. These two cars have been linked over the years, and while the rivalry took a break for a few years in the 2000s, today's competition between the Camaro and Mustang is as fierce as it's ever been.
You might recall that this friendliness when it comes to major milestones isn't too rare. Ford put on quite a display for General Motors' hundredth anniversary back in 2008. As the Camaro's fiftieth birthday approaches in 2016, we wouldn't be surprised to see the Mustang sending its best wishes to its Bowtie rival.

Use this PowerPoint when convincing your spouse to let you buy a Corvette

When you are not the one in charge of the purse strings, creativity is a must when trying to get the string-holder to bankroll that next shiny object you just can't live without.
When I was a kid, I decided that life wasn't worth living if it weren't in pursuit of owning a GMC Typhoon. My 12-year-old self crafted a fiscal strategy that, when combined with my offer of a 49-percent share of ownership in the car in return for my parents' contribution of 80-percent of the purchase price, would see me behind the wheel of a Typhoon by the time I hit college. They walked away from the negotiating table and, the economic climate of the 8th grade being what it was at the time, another partner wasn't found before the Typhoon was discontinued.
Roy El-Rayes, however, has succeeded where 12-year-old me failed, and he did it by using the sort of professionalism that only a PowerPoint presentation can provide, along with some humor and bold-faced flattery.

2014 Chevrolet Impala [w/video]

Can A Fleet Queen Become a Fullsize King?
On paper, the Chevrolet Impala is a pretty strong seller, posting annual sales that have hovered right around 170,000 units for the last two years, but it only takes one trip to practically any rental car agency to discover where the majority of those sales have come from. In fact, General Motors told Autoblog that a full 70 percent of Impala sales last year went to fleet companies for things like rental cars and government vehicles. Logic tells us that this is neither good for resale values nor name equity, so Chevrolet is getting ready to roll out an all-new Impala with improved comfort, styling and technology, hoping to turn the tables on its retail-to-fleet ratio.
Chevrolet's sedans have come on quite strong in the last few months with the introduction of the Cruze diesel and the SS sedan, but while these will likely be low-volume sellers, there's more pressure for the new Impala to perform well as GM looks to slash fleet sales and compete with the wide variety of full-size sub-luxury sedans. Riding on a platform shared with the Buick LaCrosse and Cadillac XTS, the 2014 Impala will compete against the Hyundai Azera, Ford Taurus and Toyota Avalon on the more traditional side, while also looking to take a bite out of somewhat sportier models like the Chrysler 300/Dodge Charger twins and the Nissan Maxima. We headed to sunny San Diego to see if this totally new Impala can stand on its own without the assistance of fleet companies and rental agencies. [w/video
