1975 Chevy Cheyenne Short Box 4x4 - C10 on 2040-cars

Year:1975 Mileage:20000
Location:

Rathdrum, Idaho, United States

Rathdrum, Idaho, United States

This is  Beautiful, 1975 Chevy Cheyenne, Short Box 4x4. It has a lot of great features including:

-  A 327 CI motor with Edelbrock Carburetor

- Motor is professionally rebuilt with approximately 20,000 miles

- Automatic Transmission

- 6" Rancho suspension lift, with Weld wheels and 36" BF Goodrich Mud Terrain tires

- Warn Front Bumper (Frame Mount) with area to mount a winch

- PIAA Fog Lights

- Grant Steering Wheel

- Tilt Wheel

- Receiver Hitch

- Bench Seat (Very nice with virtually no wear)

- Sliding Rear Window

-  The windows roll up and down easily. The doors and tailgate operate easily and smoothly.  The door locks operate smoothly. I recently flushed the radiator and replaced the antifreeze / coolant.

The 4x4 (Both High and Low) works Great!

- Dual Gas Tanks, with working fuel selector and gauge

- The dash is in GREAT shape, with NO cracks.  The emblem, however reads "Scottsdale" as it is from a different truck.

- The body is straight and clean. There is, however some very minor bubbling of the paint on the front portion of the hood and on the bottom of the front fenders just in front of the tires.  The windshield has a rock chip which has been sealed.  When making a right hand signal, both the left and right rear signals light up. This is an easy fix, but I haven't had time to look at it. All other lights and signals operate as they should.  The truck will need tune-up and carb adjustment as it has not been driven in some time. The heater and defrost wotks great; however, the fan tends to "whine". It most likely needs cleaned and oiled.

The speedometer recently stopped working... maybe a cable?  Odometer is not accurate.

This is a great collectible Short Box Chevy. The NADA Average Book Value is $10,225 and the High Retail Value is $18,900.

Watch the live reveal of the 2014 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra [UPDATE]

Thu, 13 Dec 2012

UPDATE: The trucks have been revealed. Click here for all of the official details.
As promised, Chevrolet and GMC are offering a live webcast of the world premiere for the all-new 2014 Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500. After being teased with spy shots and blurry images like the one above for ages, now is the time to see the trucks in the metal, for real (well, as 'real' as it gets on a webcast, at any rate).
Shift your eyes down just below to see the reveal as it happens, starting at 9:30 AM EST. We anticipate having loads of images full technical information to share after the webcast, too, so truck aficionados should stay tuned. We'll also be bringing you live images of both trucks too, when we see them on the show floor at next month's Detroit Auto Show.

Ford, Toyota clean up in Best Car For The Money Awards

Fri, 22 Feb 2013

The U.S. News Best Cars for the Money Awards picks winners by looking at the average transaction price, five-year total cost of ownership, the regard a car has from the automotive press, reliability figures from J.D. Power and Associates and safety data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The result, according to the magazine, is "the best combination of critical acclaim and long-term value."
Ford nabbed six of the 21 categories that received awards this year, the Focus, Fusion, Fusion Hybrid, Taurus, Escape and Edge getting trophies. Toyota and its Lexus and Scion sub-brands took another five, the Tacoma and Tundra owning the two categories given to pickup trucks. The other ten awards were split between Honda with three, Buick with two, and one each for Subaru, BMW, Hyundai, Chevrolet and Mazda.
Follow the link to see all the winners and read about why they were chosen.

Vert-A-Pac train cars kept your Chevy Vega's price in check

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

Our apologies to those who've seen this before, but for the rest of the class, how awesome are these pictures of the Vert-A-Pac shipping system General Motors came up with to ship the Chevrolet Vega back in the 1970s? Developed along with Southern Pacific Railroad, GM was able to double the amount of Vega models it could ship by packing them into the unique storage cars vertically.
At the time, rail cars could fit 15 vehicles each, but Chevrolet was able to lower shipping costs by making it possible to ship 30 Vegas per rail car, in turn allowing the price of the Vega to remain as low as possible. Each rail car had 30 doors that would fold down so that a Vega could be strapped on, and then a forklift would come along and lift the door into place. All the cars were positioned nose down, and since they were shipped with all of their required fluids, certain aspects had to be designed specifically for this type of shipping, including an oil baffle in the engine, a special battery and even a repositioned windshield washer reservoir. See for yourself in our image gallery above.
