This is a car that i've had since i was 17 years old, now 48 and ok that made me feel old. It has mostly been garage stored since it's time with me. It wasn't always this nice, I've had the body stripped down to metal and repainted in Sep of 2007, i had all the upholstery taken out and installed properly with new head liner, door panels, carpet kit, stock looking am-fm cassette stereo with i-pod adaptor in the ashtray, i had the factory wheels spun and trued, sand blasted and powder coated with all stock factory beauty rings and factory caps on them, new tires.  The motor was taken apart and a nice new crank and full re build, the heads were flowed by Wes King and motor assembled by him as well, very stock looking motor with close to 500hp. It is still has less then 250 miles on complete re-build.  The car is a true SS454  but had a replacement engine put in it from a SS454 Chevelle prior to me getting it when i was 17 ("see picture for #'s"), the Munci 4-speed was added at the time as well, I've included the numbers on the block, I am not a numbers expert so if you have questions please ask.

The air conditioner is all there but has never been re-charged, clock doesn't work.  I found the build sheet on top of the gas tank when i replaced it which was awesome to find. Please ask any questions as the price will not be negotiated after sale. As you can see from the build sheet it is a true SS454 with all the bells and whistles. The block has the same markings for year correct.

The last time i had the car listed on E-bay i had somebody hack my account because i was sent a question in my e-mail and had a respond button that looked just like an E-BAY page, i clicked on through my regular e-mail which was a scam,  DO NOT EVER SIGN ON FROM YOUR REGULAR E-MAIL ONLY MESSAGES FROM YOUR E-BAY ACCOUNT.  What a mess that was.  I'd like to apologize for the scammer who tried to ask everybody for second chance offers. I can't believe What a POS that person must be!!!

Thanks

Here is a video of the only thing i've really driven the car in, I trailered it to Pacific Grove and did a little rally,  The Chevelle comes in about the 37:50 mark, you can see it before then but not as well.

Vert-A-Pac train cars kept your Chevy Vega's price in check

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

Our apologies to those who've seen this before, but for the rest of the class, how awesome are these pictures of the Vert-A-Pac shipping system General Motors came up with to ship the Chevrolet Vega back in the 1970s? Developed along with Southern Pacific Railroad, GM was able to double the amount of Vega models it could ship by packing them into the unique storage cars vertically.
At the time, rail cars could fit 15 vehicles each, but Chevrolet was able to lower shipping costs by making it possible to ship 30 Vegas per rail car, in turn allowing the price of the Vega to remain as low as possible. Each rail car had 30 doors that would fold down so that a Vega could be strapped on, and then a forklift would come along and lift the door into place. All the cars were positioned nose down, and since they were shipped with all of their required fluids, certain aspects had to be designed specifically for this type of shipping, including an oil baffle in the engine, a special battery and even a repositioned windshield washer reservoir. See for yourself in our image gallery above.

Chevy shows much-improved 2014 Corvette interior in new video

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

If you want a closer look at what went into designing and building the interior for the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette, we've got just the thing. General Motors has released a new video detailing the cabin's evolution from conception to execution, complete with commentary from Ryan Vaughn, performance car interior design manager with Chevrolet. The quick clip details how manufacturing, engineering and design within General Motors worked together from the first sketches to ensure no compromises had to be made later down the line. How novel.
With plenty of hides traced with contrast stitching and available real carbon fiber trim, the cabin looks to be a few hundred miles ahead of the C6. Given how readily critics derided the previous generation for its cabin, the C7 should make writers work a little harder to find something to complain about. Check out the video below for yourself.
