Here IS A VERY RARE and true 1968 Chevelle SS project car.

I have the pink slip on hand, why waste your time, money, and efforts dealing with a bill of sale car.

 

The interior is all original and is a rare buick interior that only a few SS Chevelles got. If you research this, several therioes exist as to why gm plants did this ranging from a strike at gm plants, material shortage, to an upgrade to the more upscale interior, gm has not confirmed either, but this is rare and is documented.

This car also still has the numbers matching big block!


Exterior is complete and dent free, there is rust in the usual spots around the wheel wells of the quarter panel. Trunk pan will need to be replaced, so will the gas tank. Floor pans look pretty solid.

 

I understand that when you take on a project, this is an experience that is very special for many reasons, it can be something that you are working on with your child, father, etc.., it can also be that you had a car like this growing up and want to relive your past.

What ever the reason is, I want you to be statisfied and want you to get exactly what you expected. If you have any questions please feel free to ask, I will answer them truthfully and as quickly as I can.

I have brand new trunk pan, radiator support/ front end, patches for right and left fenders, gas tank, right side wheel house, front end screws.

Pictures show the head lights installed. I have removed them as I was going to replaced the radiator support. Since we did not do this, I decided to put them in the back seat.

Obviously car does not run as the block needs to be rebuilt.

Passenger side quarter window is missing, windshield has a crack, all other glass is there.

Diesel Power finds the ultimate modified oil-burner

For nine years, Diesel Power magazine has run the Diesel Power Challenge, this year's grindfest being "a week-long torture test that features seven events, nine trucks, 8,000 horsepower, and nearly 15,000 pound-feet of torque." The road to being crowned "the most powerful truck" starts with a dyno run, and then continues through the completion of a CDL-style obstacle course, an eighth-of-a-mile drag race while towing a 10,000-pound trailer, a quarter-mile drag race without a trailer, a fuel economy test in the mountains and finally a sled-pulling test through a 300-foot-long packed-mud pit.
What kind of trucks get into such a fight? Last year's winner, for instance - who upgraded his truck this year to prove he didn't "luck into the win" - drives a 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty with a 6.4-liter Power Stroke V8 upgraded with a custom intake, Elite Diesel triple turbos and a two-stage nitrous system. Another competitor has a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 powered by a 5.9-liter Cummins inline-six, upgraded with Garrett turbos, dual-stage nitrous, a seven-inch exhaust stack and twin fans built into the bed to cool the Sun Coast Omega transmission. The numbers on that truck: 1,255 horsepower, and 2,063 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. Naturally, as the image above might suggest, things don't always end well.
You'll find all five videos covering this years challenge below. A scene in the dyno video sums it all up perfectly: a competitor leaves his nitrous on too long and the crew is treated to some ominous poppings, he leans out the window, throws both hands up and shouts, "Amer'ca!"

2014 Chevrolet SS makes its live debut

Chevrolet showed off the new 2014 SS in an airport hangar last night, its first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan in the US since the Impala SS from 1997. We'll have more to say about the SS later today, but this is the sedan that Chevrolet sees as the final piece in restoring its performance credentials. For those of you looking for a manual transmission, however, that wish will go unfulfilled - at least for now: the only two options buyers will have are the color and whether or not they want a sunroof.
We'll work on getting some more angles (in better light) today at Daytona International Speedway, but with fans seeing the car for the first time, we don't hold out much luck of getting a clear shot. So for now, enjoy the high-res gallery above.

Why does the Corvette Stingray have so many vents? Here's why

Just looking at the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, it's not hard to see that the car's design was created with aerodynamics at the forefront, but Chevrolet designers point out exactly what went into designing the iconic coupe in a pair of recently released videos. The videos show the Corvette going through early design phases, including clay models and wind tunnel tests, as well as talking to the car's chief engineer, Tadge Juechter.
Both videos help explain various aspects of the C7 Corvette, but it's the aero tuning of the car that is most interesting. This includes extra attention paid to the lower air dam and vented hood to help reduce drag and lift, while the rear quarter inlets are for differential and transmission cooling. Juechter said that some of these aero-tuned elements were inspired from GM's involvement in racing.
