Beautiful example of an original numbers matching 67 Chevelle Malibu, 327-275 HP 4 speed factory car. This car is all original with a few exceptions, radiator, carb, 327-350 Comp cam and lifters, BF Goodrich tires, Flowmaster dual exhaust and one repaint in its original Marina Blue which was done in 1998. Bottom of trunk floor was replaced and bottom of rear left quarter panel was replaced from the chrome strip down, everything else is original sheet metal.  Frame is perfect!Car has always been garage kept  but does have a few scratches and a few little dings but nothing major. Speedometer on this car is at 62800 and is actual mileage however the needle is stuck but odometer has always worked. Also has the original GM dealer installed tach on the top of the dash but not currently working. All the interior is original and in great shape. All the chrome and stainless are original also. Under the hood is the "born with" 327-275 HP engine with original 1.94 fuelie heads, Saginaw 4 speed and 3.08 posi 10 bolt rear. Runs perfect and starts every time! I even have the original Quadrajet carb and radiator and AM radio for the car, just runs better with the edelbrock 600 and the Be Cool aluminum radiator. Power steering, power brakes. Drum brakes all the way around but I have a brand new disc brake setup that I just haven't put on yet. Chevelle is a blast to drive and goes down the road straight and has no rattles, shakes, shimmies, etc. Bid with confidence.

At this point I've gotten so many emails about this car that I figure its easier to just post more info. I can tell you that I will not reveal the reserve so that everyone can get a fair shot! I will not sell the car to someone that thinks they can just flip it right away. I feel my reserve is set at what these cars are worth in this condition and I do believe that you would be hard pressed to find one this clean and with the factory options this has and hasn't been cloned to an SS, chopped up, etc. Is this car perfect??? NO, not even I as the seller could say that! I can say that all the shows I've taken it to, I've had countless people come up to me and say that they can't believe the condition of this car, that they can tell its mostly original and not a alot of restoration parts thrown on it. It even wins at a show occasionally. It really shows very well but not a trailer queen. I said previously that the car has been garaged kept and it has. It also sat in the garage for along time, not driven. I added the cam, lifters, and timing chain last winter when we pulled the motor because some of the gaskets and seals were old or dry rotted from sitting so long. Motor was completely disassembled but did not need boring, rings, or bearings. Not even a ridge on top of the cylinders. No scarring on the crank or bearings, no play in the crank. It was mic'ed  and looked over by my friend who has been building Chevys for 40+ years and he reassembled the motor right to GM original specs. We just cleaned it up inside and out and I decided to put the little bit bigger cam in just because I felt I wanted a little more zip to it and its does. Motor did not smoke before and and it sure doesn't now!! We didn't feel it needed valve seals either, but we did put a brand new oil pump in it just to be safe. Runs smooth and sounds great just like a small block should! For you engine number guys, the block is 3903352, dated 12-9-66 and on the front pad, TI006EA. Now you can go look on NastyZ28's website and email back and say that the engine is a 57 or 68 but you and them would be wrong! Look on some sites with real experts like TeamChevelle. Is it an L30?? I don't know but it could very well be. Oh and I did replace the front coil springs also because they seemed to be worn. Sent it to a front end shop for alignment and everything was in excellent shape. The original radiator leaked on the top a little and eventually I was going to send it out be redone. Why am I selling it?? Some people tell  me i'm nuts!! Can't argue! But i'm kinda leanin towards a Big Block car since I've never owned one, but if I don't sell this, no big deal. I hope I've answered some of the general questions I've gotten since the start of the auction or maybe I opened myself up to even more! LOL. Thanks

Also forgot to mention I put a brand new 11" clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing in it. The original was a 10 1/2"

The story of the 2014 Chevrolet SS: "Luxury, power, refinement, handling"

Thu, 07 Mar 2013

Not including the women and men who built it, the 2014 Chevrolet SS has only been seen in person by a piddling number of people - fewer humans than would fill the gymnasium at a high school volleyball game. Not including the men and women who built it, no one has driven it. Even so, it is already saddled with two controversies: the way it looks and the way it shifts.
First to that shifting. Did we love the last Americanized Holden, the awesomely sportsome Pontiac G8 GXP, and its six-speed manual? Of course. Do we wish the SS came with a six-speed manual? Of course. But we'd like a toboggan to come with a manual transmission. We'd put a manual transmission on a weasel if we could because we're just wired that way; if it moves, it should come with a stick and a clutch. Or at least the option.
Let's climb down off the ledge, though. We haven't driven the SS and we have no idea how good (or not) the automatic is. And the Hobson's Choice in transmissions when it comes to sport sedans like the BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and Jaguar XFR-S and, oh yeah, cars-that-really-should-have-manuals like the Audi R8 and Nissan GT-R and Porsche 918 and every single Lamborghini and Ferrari, for instance, hasn't stopped us from enjoying what is clearly the gruesome, dual-clutched demise of Western automotive civilization. Because in spite of our ululations at the dying of the six-speed light, we understand.

Chevy Camaro is a good sport, wishes Ford Mustang Happy 50th

Tue, 15 Apr 2014

It was 1966 when Chevrolet launched its challenger to the wildly successful Ford Mustang, the Camaro. While the competition between the two brands was already healthy, the arrival of the Camaro set off one of the most intense, model-to-model rivalries in the industry.
That competitive spirit hasn't stopped Chevy and the Camaro from wishing Ford's iconic muscle car a Happy 50th Birthday as the Ford's April 17 anniversary rolls around. These two cars have been linked over the years, and while the rivalry took a break for a few years in the 2000s, today's competition between the Camaro and Mustang is as fierce as it's ever been.
You might recall that this friendliness when it comes to major milestones isn't too rare. Ford put on quite a display for General Motors' hundredth anniversary back in 2008. As the Camaro's fiftieth birthday approaches in 2016, we wouldn't be surprised to see the Mustang sending its best wishes to its Bowtie rival.

Next Corvette ZR1 to get 700 horsepower?

Tue, 19 Feb 2013

Word has it General Motors may offer as much as 700 horsepower in the C7 Corvette ZR1. Motor Trend reports the next Corvette Z06 will continue to rely on its naturally aspirated 7.0-liter V8 engine for thrust, but the lump will deliver substantially more power. How much more? MT says the engine could deliver up to 600 ponies. That's a jump of 95 horsepower over the current Z06, though no figures have been finalized as of yet. Right now, GM is reportedly waiting to see what sort of grunt it can glean from the next ZR1.
The automaker has already made it clear it will resurrect the LT5 name for the new supercharged V8, and if GM is already pulling 600 from the Z06, the big dog ZR1 would theoretically offer 700 horsepower. Either way, the range-topping Corvette will be suitably insulated from its less potent siblings. Stay tuned. We aren't likely to see the Z06 for at least a year, with the ZR1 trailing along at some point there after.
