ENGINE-  468 big block less tahn 100 miles on complete rebuild.  New rods, pistons, comp cam 593 lift 256 duration, has that nice lumpy sounding lope to it.

Drivetrain--  New clutch, pressure plate and throwout bearing, new "U" joints, rebuilt Borg Warner super T-10 less than 200 miles on rebuild, 12 bolt posi with 373 gears.  Great for cruising.

Suspension---New coil springs all around, new shocks, new brakes disc in front drum in rear, new "A" frame bushings, ball joints, stabilizer bushings, suspension very tight.

Body-- As you can see from the pictures and video the paint looks really good and there are very few blemishes,  a few minor chips but nothing really glaring, You must remember it is a driver and not a show car so  you may find some minor nicks on the paint.  I would say the paint is a 7 ouit of 10.  I am guessing that the car was painted approximately 10 years ago and still shines well.  The floor pans are solid with no rust and the trunk has been repaired professionally with pictures and receipts to show what was done.

General--I have replaced the under dash wiring with a factory correct wiring harness and all of the stock gauges work.  (with the exception of the speedometer and the radio) New speedo cable but it still does not work?  The odometer shows 48167 miles but not sure of the correct mileage.  I am trying to be as honest about the car as possible and I am sure that I have forgotten something.  I have put a lot of time and money into this car and have set a reasonable price on it.  If you bid make sure you have the funds to follow thru!!

I am selling the car and NOT interested in ANY trades.  Thanks for looking.    I have a video on you tube at

GM 6.2L V8 claims most powerful light-duty truck engine title

Thu, 12 Sep 2013

General Motors has officially captured the horsepower crown for mainstream pickup trucks with its 6.2-liter V8. The big mill, available in both the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, comes to market with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, handily outdoing its two cross-town competitors, Ram (5.7-liter V8, 395 ponies and 407 lb-ft) and Ford (6.2-liter V8, 411 hp and 434 lb-ft).
The new GM 6.2 will take a bit of an investment, though. Those that want the extra thrust will need to go with either the LTZ or High Country trims from the Chevy, or the SLT and Denali trims from GMC, which are the two highest trim levels for the respective vehicles. Trim levels aside, if you're in the business of towing, GM has you covered. Optioned with the 6.2-liter V8 and the Max Trailering Package, owners will be able to pull 12,000 pounds, a hugely impressive figure.
We still aren't certain as to what sort of economy the new engine will get, but it'll probably be a bad bet for the fuel conscious. As for availability, expect to see the 6.2-liter trucks in showrooms later in the fall.

The story of the 2014 Chevrolet SS: "Luxury, power, refinement, handling"

Thu, 07 Mar 2013

Not including the women and men who built it, the 2014 Chevrolet SS has only been seen in person by a piddling number of people - fewer humans than would fill the gymnasium at a high school volleyball game. Not including the men and women who built it, no one has driven it. Even so, it is already saddled with two controversies: the way it looks and the way it shifts.
First to that shifting. Did we love the last Americanized Holden, the awesomely sportsome Pontiac G8 GXP, and its six-speed manual? Of course. Do we wish the SS came with a six-speed manual? Of course. But we'd like a toboggan to come with a manual transmission. We'd put a manual transmission on a weasel if we could because we're just wired that way; if it moves, it should come with a stick and a clutch. Or at least the option.
Let's climb down off the ledge, though. We haven't driven the SS and we have no idea how good (or not) the automatic is. And the Hobson's Choice in transmissions when it comes to sport sedans like the BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and Jaguar XFR-S and, oh yeah, cars-that-really-should-have-manuals like the Audi R8 and Nissan GT-R and Porsche 918 and every single Lamborghini and Ferrari, for instance, hasn't stopped us from enjoying what is clearly the gruesome, dual-clutched demise of Western automotive civilization. Because in spite of our ululations at the dying of the six-speed light, we understand.
