My 1966 Chevelle Malibu is up for grabs.....this car is clean. It started its life with the same components it has now. This is an all orginal numbers matching car with 87k orginal miles. I am the second owner. I bought the car 7/15/2013 from the orginal owner in Colorado. The car was completley restored in 2006 and still shows awesome. This car is the cleanest chevelle i have seen in a long time. It has the SS interior with bucket seats and floor shifter. It is powered by the factory orginal 327CI 275HP motor with the orginal numbers matching power glide transmission. This car drives like it just rolled off the assembly line. The orginal owner replaced the stock rims with the ralley wheels it now wears. I have the orginal hubcaps which are included. I also have the orginal window sticker, bill of sale, copy of orginal title, and all reciepts from restoration. I also have the apprasial report from 06 and i'm sure there is some other things I have left out. My financial situation forces me to sell this car. I do not want to sell. This is a great car.

Her husband bought the car for her brand new in 1966 off the dealers lot. The story i got goes like this........A doctors son ordered the car without his dads knowledge, he ordered the Malibu with the 327 CI 275 HP motor backed up with the powerglide trans. He also ordered it with the SS interior which included the bucket seats and center counsel with the floor shifter. When his dad found out he did not let him buy the car and the dealer put it on the lot. Thats when the orginal owners found it and it was purchased for Mrs. Ward. They put shag carpet in the trunk as was the custom back then and the rear window leaked which also was a common issue with these cars. The trunk pan rusted along with one of the rear quarters. The car sat for a long time in their garage and in 2004 Mr. Ward was diagonised with cancer. He told his wife he wanted to restore the car and drive it again before his death, in 2006 they had a complete frame off restoration done professionally. I have the reciepts wich total in excess of 38k. They also had the car appraised in 12/06 and it came back at 49,500 with just over 84k miles on it. She kept the car until 2013 and decided it was time for it to have a new home. I was honored to find it and made a deal with her in 7/2013. It has been my intention to keep this car forever but loss of work forces me to sell.

More Corvette Stingray Factoids: Vanishing panel gaps and 26-mpg LT1

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
So, most of what was talked about has been expertly reported already right here on Autoblog. But, looking through our notes again, both Jeuchter and Lee added facts to the buzzing mix.

Chevy Corvette gets Valet Mode with Performance Data Recorder [w/video]

Mon, 18 Aug 2014

For the 2015-model-year, Chevrolet introduces Valet Mode for the Corvette, an enhancement to the Performance Data Recorder (PDR) already available and to your peace of mind. The PDR already captures 720p HD video with a windshield-mounted camera, records interior audio with a cabin microphone and gathers telemetry data using GPS, saving the data to an SD card in the glovebox. You can then watch your track-day antics with various information overlays on the center console screen.
Valet Mode will let you hit 'Replay' when your car gets pulled up front smelling vaguely of fricasseed clutch. Turned on by entering a four-digit code, it also locks the interior storage spaces and turns off the infotainment system. It can't be turned off until the code is re-entered. There's a press release below with more information as well as a video that explains how it works, with the obligatory dig at the 'Vette's biggest foe.

Watch NASCAR racer Jeff Gordon put one over on a used car dealer... sorta

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

Full Disclosure: in my younger days, I loved nothing more than tormenting passengers with my behind-the-wheel hijinks. Once, after a particularly artful handbrake turn on a two-lane at around 50 miles per hour, I left one backseat occupant crying in their own lap. This isn't necessarily something to be proud of, but it gives you a glimpse into why it is that I find this ad from Pepsi so damn disappointing. The premise is beautiful. Take NASCAR legend Jeff Gordon, give him a disguise and set him loose upon some unsuspecting used car dealer. Hilarity ensues.
Except that this Pepsi Max commercial is so obviously staged, it can't help but feel like some ham-fisted marketing fail. From the strategically placed aftermarket cupholder mounted mid-dash for the hidden camera to the fact that the supposed dealer Camaro is displayed as a 2009 model (Hint: Chevrolet didn't make any), this clip is about as organic as a Twinkie. Still, we would never turn down a chance to watch Gordon thrash on a rental-spec coupe - only problem is, he probably didn't even do the driving himself. Check it out below.
