1965 Chevrolet Chevelle 300 2 Door Wagon

For those that don't know the rarity of these cars, the 2 door wagon was produced for only 2 years, being 1964 and 1965. In 1965 1,668 were produced, and of those, only 1,015 were produced with the I6 motor. This car originally had a 230 cu in and a 2 speed automatic transmission. About 10 years ago the 230 blew up on us and was replaced with another I6, this one a 230 bored to 250. The transmission is still #s matching.

The car is currently in a restorable condition. It starts, it runs, and it drives, and is not a total rust bucket, but it is definitely showing its age, and some rust in the typical places. I would say that about 95% of the pieces are there, as you can see from the pictures. The chrome trim is there, all of the glass is good, and all of the interior is there just as it originally was (except for an aftermarket radio and oil pressure and voltage guages). Headlights, tail lights, door handles (except part of the rear window rolling mechanism, as seen in the pictures), dashboard, and chrome trim. Only one piece of window trim is missing, but mostly all of it is there. Even the "230" and the "300" badges. The engine bay is actually in pretty good condition, and has little rust. The big rust spots are around the fenders and the doors, as is common on most "resto-ready" cars of this age. The odometer has been around multiple times but currently reads 14,300.

I have NEVER seen another one of these on the road. Even in its current condition it gets compliments everywhere we go when we do decide to take it out.

If you have any further questions or would like more specific pictures or information please message me.

These cars are not easy to find and theres no telling how long it will be before another goes up for sale. So Happy Bidding!!!

(Buyer will need to arrange for their own transport. I am an easy going guy though, so I will help in whatever way I can).

GM looks to combat high theft rates on SUVs with added tech

Tue, 24 Dec 2013

The Cadillac Escalade has been at or near the top of most-stolen and insurance-loss lists for more than seven years, until it dropped to number six earlier this year. In 2011 it was fitted with a host of new security features to address its easy-to-override features and that has brought the number of thefts down, but when eight of the ten most stolen rides are large SUVs from General Motors, no one will argue that something else needs to be done.
Thus, GM has fitted this same theft-deterring tech to the 2015 Suburban, Tahoe and Yukon. The Suburban and Tahoe will get the steering lock that the Escalade and Yukon already get, plus bolted-down third-row seats to deter thefts like this, stronger door lock cylinders and shields, and side-cut keys to inhibit picking.
Additional security measures in a Theft Protection Package can be purchased for $395, consisting of sensors on the greenhouse glass and interior, an incline/tilt sensor and added "key control systems" to make it more difficult for the men in black balaclavas to steal what you bought.

Final C6 Corvette built in Bowling Green

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

With all of the attention given to the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray lately, you could be forgiven for thinking that it's already well along in production, yet tooling up for the new C7 has only just begun. In fact, production of the outgoing C6 generation in Bowling Green, Kentucky just halted on Thursday.
As the C6 has aged, production numbers have predictably ebbed along with demand, but this year, the addition of the 427 and 60th anniversary models resulted in an uptick in vehicles built - this, despite a model year shortened by around 25 percent to accomodate the new model changeover. The final C6 Corvette ever, No. 13,466 built this year, was a white 427 Convertible destined for the General Motors Heritage Center museum. The car's 7.0-liter V8 heart was assembled by Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juechter himself.
In total, Bowling Green pushed out 215,100 C6 Corvettes over nine years. If you're still a C6 fan at heart and are hoping to get a good deal on a phase-out model, step lively - Chevrolet reportedly had about 6,100 unsold units, which Autoweek suggests is good for around five and a half months of supply at the model's current sales rates. Given that demand will likely slacken even further as the C7 draws closer, that should be a big enough stockpile to keep dealers satisfied until 2014 Stingrays begin showing up on their forecourts in December.

GM already raising prices on 2014 Silverado and Sierra pickups

Mon, 14 Oct 2013

General Motors must be pretty pleased with sales of its two newest pickups, the GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado, as it's announced price hikes for both models, as part of a planned price tweak.
Prices will be bumped by as much as $1,500, although weirdly, they'll be offset by as much as $1,500 in cash-back offers through the end of October. Fox Business reports that GM spokesman Jim Cain said of the price hike, "With the sell down of the '13 models nearly complete, this price adjustment was planned and is a normal part of business."
The move, as Fox is quick to point out, is an interesting one, as sales of the twin pickups struggled last month relative to the Ford F-Series, while both of GM's crosstown competitors have been aggressively undercutting Silverado and Sierra prices. The F-150 starts at $24,070 and the Ram 1500 comes in at $23,600, not counting any cash on the hood. A base Silverado, meanwhile, retails at $25,575.
