1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Ss Hardtop Gm Executive Car Survivor on 2040-cars
Wallingford, Connecticut, United States
Built for and purchased new in Shorthills New Jersey by a GM Executive in 1964, it was sold in 1982 to it's second and current owner. Amazingly optioned, completely intact and unrestored, it has been garage kept since new and shows its original 86,000 miles. A true survivor, the only major work being done was a repaint in the original color 40 years ago, as well as carpets and armrests in 1982. Comes with 2nd owners title from 1982, Dealer order invoice, owners manual and warantee booklet with all driveline codes indicated. (photos will be added) It runs beautifully, smooth and powerful and drives like a dream. The transmission shifts perfectly and it rides and handles like it should. The AC compressor works but system needs to be recharged. All power accessories work, including all windows. The interior is nearly flawless with the exception of the gauge cluster bezel, which is available reproduction. The paint is holding up well, but there are a few nicks and chips and several exterior moldings have small dings. Its been sitting for quite some time, so it will need a master cylinder and wheel cylinders to be road worthy. Exhaust system and suspension are tight. The only areas with rust found are 2 small spots in the trunk floor near the rear wheel wells (see photos). The car is uniquely appointed with the following options: - SS Package - 327 250 HP V8 - 3.08 limited slip rear - Power steering, Power brakes, Power Windows, A/C - Tinted Glass - Rear Antenna - AM Radio with rear speaker - Door Edge Guards - Remote outside mirror - Seatbelts with retractors

GM recalls select Chevy Cruze, Sonic and Buick Verano models over airbag issue
Wed, 14 Nov 2012General Motors is recalling certain 2012 Buick Verano, Chevrolet Cruze and Sonic models due to a defect in the driver's airbag system. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the airbag has a shorting bar which may contact two internal terminals. If that happens during a crash, the supplemental restraint may not deploy, increasing the risk of driver injury. The recall includes a total of 2,949 units.
GM will contact owners and replace the steering wheel airbag coil at no cost. At this point, it's unclear when the recall will begin, though owners may contact the automaker at 1-800-521-7300 for more information. You may also take a closer look at the full NHTSA notice below.
C7 Corvette makes inaugural ad appearance in Chevy's first spot with new slogan
Mon, 11 Feb 2013Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" tagline has finally been run into the ground, replaced with the Bowtie brand's "Find New Roads" slogan that's part of parent General Motors' plan to unify its everyday brand's marketing efforts worldwide. The new Chevrolet campaign was ushered in on prime time last night during the Grammy Awards on CBS, and the first spot, a 90-second full-line ad, also marks the first appearance of the 2014 Corvette Stingray in a commercial.
Being a full-line ad, the commercial is composed of vignettes centered on different vehicles in the brand's lineup. The all-new 2014 Impala also makes its first commercial appearance in dapper fashion, and time is spent on a skateboarding Sonic and a bouquet of brightly colored Spark hatchbacks driven by fashionable women. The ad starts and ends with Chevy's green halo car, the Volt, along with a young girl with her robotic dog (yes, really).
Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" campaign got off to a rocky start in the fall of 2010, but it did last for a couple of years with some tweaks. This new one, "Find New Roads" seems more intent on drawing new customers into the fold than the outgoing tagline, which seemed to play more toward the brand faithful. It admittedly reminds us more than a little the short-lived "Find Your Own Road" Saab motto (which, we note, was conceived while the Swedish brand was under GM's control), but no matter, we still think it's got more long-term potential than "Runs Deep."
