Up for sale is a one owner(family) 1979 Z28 Camaro equipped with a 350 engine. I have too many restoration projects to work on so I have decided to sell this special car. I have never titled the car nor have I registered it, it will be sold with a clear title from the original owner(family). The car was purchased new in 1979 from Majestic Chevrolet in Freeport NY and remained with in the family of the original owner till only recently when I purchased it. The original build sheet and window sticker are still intact and will be sold with the car. This a numbers matching car. The car retains its original yellow color and black interior. The car presently needs a good restoration. Let me start off and mention what I believe is missing from the car, the original radio and the trunk liner(thats it!!!). Tires are new, battery is new, interior as you can see from the pictures is in very good shape. I am not sure if the speakers on the door panels was original to the car. The car starts up very easy and drives very well. Brakes work. The A/C blows cool but not super cold, probably needs a good charge. The vehicle needs a good paint job though many parts of the car appear to be the original paint as indicated by the original owner. There is some superficial rust above the drivers door as you can see in the picture. The only other rust is on the bottom of the front drivers side fender. Your choice to repair that and keep the original fender on the car or to replace the entire fender with a new fender which will be included in the sale of the car(see picture). The trunk is very clean but is missing the liner. In addition an original stripping(decal) kit from GM will also be included with the car. The fender is worth approx $175 and the decals can cost $275 if you can find them. Both items are included in the sale of the car.  I have set a very reasonable reserve for this one owner original car. Please only bid if you have the intention to purchase the car, ask questions before you bid. NO SCAMMERS... Good luck bidding.

Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]

Mon, 18 Mar 2013

Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. You can check out the brief press release below for more information, or head over to the Callaway site to plunk down a deposit - but before you do, we want to know... do you find this C7 wagon interesting? Vote in our poll below, then feel free to leave a few lines in Comments.

Conquest and controversy conclude the 2014 Rolex 24 at Daytona [spoilers]

Sun, 26 Jan 2014

If you don't wish to know who won the 2014 Rolex 24 at Daytona, you should avert your eyes right now. We'll even give you a double-space to skedaddle...
For those of you still with us, the first race in the United SportsCar Championship (USCC) is done, but the discussions about it certainly won't end for a while. Daytona Prototypes claimed the first four overall places, the top spot taken by the No. 5 Action Express Coyote-Chevrolet Corvette DP driven by Joao Barbosa, Christian Fittipaldi, Sebastien Bourdain and Burt Friselle. The 16th and final caution of the race bunched the field up for an eight-minute sprint to the flag, so the first place getter finished just 1.4 seconds ahead of the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Dallara-Chevrolet Corvette DP driven by Max Angelelli. Third place went to Brian Friselle in the No. 9 Action Express Chevrolet Corvette DP, 20 seconds down. Chevrolet power hasn't taken the overall win since 2003, eleven years later it scores a one-two-three-four. The No. 6 Muscle Milk/Pickett Racing ORECA-Nissan 03 scored fifth place, the top LMP2 finisher.
The Prototype Challenge class win went to the No. 54 CORE Autosport team of Colin Braun, Jon Bennett, Mark Wilkins and James Gue.

Chevrolet Malibu gets across-the-board price cuts, hopes to dig out of slump

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

To say that things aren't going well for the newly redesigned 2013 Chevrolet Malibu is a pretty sizable understatement. Reports have been swirling about the Malibu getting an emergency design refresh, less than a year after its introduction, as well as having its production at the Fairfax Assembly Plant halted twice already this year for excessive inventory. Now, Motor Trend is reporting that the midsize sedan will be receiving price drops across the board ranging from $300 on a number of models up to $770 on the 1LT trim; offsetting some of MSRP drop, though, the destination charge has increased from $760 to $810.
Without destination, the entry-level Malibu LS now starts at $21,995, which is still about $300 more than a Honda Accord and about $300 less than the segment's top-selling Toyota Camry. This new pricing also drops the price of the Eco, 2LT and 3LT trims by $300. The LTZ trim has dropped by $415, meaning that the Malibu's top dog now starts at just under $30,000, excluding destination.
Here are the new starting prices for all eight of the Malibu trim levels compared to the previous prices for the 2013 model year (including destination):
