Hello everyone,

Selling my first fully sponsored show truck.   This truck has a lot of history behind it,  it is the first truck to have been sprayed with the Line-X bed liner in CA, it was used by Pro-Comp to design their 6 inch suspension lift, and the truck was painted by INZANO motorsports, legendary painter of many monster trucks.

This truck was the cover truck for the WELD Racing wheel catalog in 1998, remember they could have picked any truck in the country and they picked this one. It is also on their final promo poster.

Truck was also featured in two separate off-road magazines, and has won many first place show awards in southern CA.

IT IS NOW IN NEED OF COSMETIC RESTORATION.

The truck runs great, it has a very healthy factory big block 454 in it, it will smoke the rear tires endlessly.  The motor has had a mild cam put in as well as custom head work.  It is producing in excess of 400 HP.

The trans is the factory turbo 400 3 speed auto, it is in excellent working condition, and it has been upgraded with bigger valves and heavy torque converter.

The transfer case is the stock NP 241 part time, it is also in great working shape.

The rear end is a heavy duty DANA 70 with a Magna guard diff cover on it.  The diff cover has a plexi glass window in it so the oil can be inspected without taking the cover off.

There is a complete 6 inch Pro-Comp suspension lift on the truck complete with triple shock hoops up front and rear traction bars.

There is also a 3 inch body lift.

The truck is now sitting on 22 inch very high end chrome aluminum rims, and they are wrapped with 37 inch TOYO MT tires, the tires have only been used on the street and are in good shape other than some weather cracking.

Overall the truck runs and drives good, but it is in  need of cosmetic help as you can see from the pics.

This truck still gets lots of looks and thumbs up when going down the road, lots of people still remember it from its glory days..

I hold a clear CA title in hand.

We can assist with shipping if you'd like.

This truck is being sold in AS IS condition.

Please have your funds ready as I require full payment within 3 working days.

Thanks for looking...

THERE IS NO RESERVE, SO HAVE FUN AND GOOD LUCK...

GM says hybrid Corvette no laughing matter [w/poll]

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

When Mark Reuss was in LA recently, he sat down to have a few words with the scribes at the Los Angeles Times. When the issue of a hybrid Corvette came up, Reuss answered with "Don't laugh." The General Motors president is a complete fan of the possibility, calling it "attractive" and "really fun," believing it would improve GM expertise and that "people would love it."
Naturally, the president being supportive of an idea doesn't give indication that a hybrid Corvette is on the way. However, with supercars like the Porsche 918 Spyder and Ferrari LaFerrari giving hybrid tech a solid, if remote, place in the performance car world, the inexorable trickle-down of technology means we shouldn't be surprised if and when it does happen.
And now that we have that non-negative half-answer to a speculative question, it would be irresponsible for us not to commence rumormilling for the C8 Corvette. Taking Reuss at his word, the C8 will obviously be a hybrid with all-wheel-drive - the left side wheels driven with electric motors, the right side with the mid-mounted, four-cylinder diesel engine. With coefficient of drag of just .16, figure on a 0-to-60 mile-per-hour time of under 2 seconds and an all-electric range of something like 30 miles at top speed. Don't forget, folks, you read it here first.

This is your 2014 Chevrolet SS

Sat, 16 Feb 2013

Think you've waited long enough for this? If so, then you'll want to savor the high-res photos we've so far been given of the 2014 Chevrolet SS, the first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan from The Bowtie in 17 years.
We all know its our version of the brand new VF-model Holden Commodore, but what's under the hood that earns the appellation "performance?" A 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine producing 415 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. That's 35 hp and lb-ft less than the same engine is expected to produce in the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. Chevrolet says the sedan will get from 0-to-60 miles per hour "in about five seconds."
Shifting comes courtesy of a six-speed automatic with paddles on the steering wheel, while stopping arrive via four-piston Brembo calipers up front, a single sliding piston in back. The forged aluminum wheels are 19-inchers all around, each set supporting right around 50 percent of the sedan's weight, and the aluminum hood and trunk are meant to keep the center of gravity low.

Diesel Power finds the ultimate modified oil-burner

Sat, 24 Aug 2013

For nine years, Diesel Power magazine has run the Diesel Power Challenge, this year's grindfest being "a week-long torture test that features seven events, nine trucks, 8,000 horsepower, and nearly 15,000 pound-feet of torque." The road to being crowned "the most powerful truck" starts with a dyno run, and then continues through the completion of a CDL-style obstacle course, an eighth-of-a-mile drag race while towing a 10,000-pound trailer, a quarter-mile drag race without a trailer, a fuel economy test in the mountains and finally a sled-pulling test through a 300-foot-long packed-mud pit.
What kind of trucks get into such a fight? Last year's winner, for instance - who upgraded his truck this year to prove he didn't "luck into the win" - drives a 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty with a 6.4-liter Power Stroke V8 upgraded with a custom intake, Elite Diesel triple turbos and a two-stage nitrous system. Another competitor has a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 powered by a 5.9-liter Cummins inline-six, upgraded with Garrett turbos, dual-stage nitrous, a seven-inch exhaust stack and twin fans built into the bed to cool the Sun Coast Omega transmission. The numbers on that truck: 1,255 horsepower, and 2,063 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. Naturally, as the image above might suggest, things don't always end well.
You'll find all five videos covering this years challenge below. A scene in the dyno video sums it all up perfectly: a competitor leaves his nitrous on too long and the crew is treated to some ominous poppings, he leans out the window, throws both hands up and shouts, "Amer'ca!"
