1997 Chevy C34 3500 Dually Gas 454 Water Truck With 2 3" Pumps on 2040-cars
Howe, Indiana, United States
As pictured, this truck was built to water a motocross track. It has a 3" pump plumbed in, that has 2 separate ways to spray water. One out the side and 2 outlets out the back as well as a 2" firehose on the side.
The side pressure outlet will shoot water about 50-60' out in a 20-25' spread. The rear sprayers work approximately the same. Valves can be reached by the driver so it can be operated by one person. Comes with everything shown: 2 3" pumps, one plumbed in and one fill pump with all hoses needed. Pumps have less then 3 total hours on both pumps, they are like new. We built the truck for my personal track, and for health reasons I have to stop riding. 1000 gallon tank and fill pipe. All quick connect banjo type fittings and valves. Truck itself is as shown, its not the prettiest thing in the world, but I do have all maintenance records since it was new. It has a check engine light on at the moment and runs a little rough, I was told its just a O2 sensor, but I have not looked into it. It runs and does the job that I needed it to do. The Drivers side mirror is broke. Transmission and all moving parts all work well, it needs nothing but a tune up and its a perfectly running truck. The hood latch cable is broke, so you have to manually operate the hood. If you win the auction, I would like the truck picked up within a week of auction close. There is no reserve, the starting price is LESS then I have in the pumps and fittings alone!!! |

Hot Wheels' Twitter-enabled vending machine coughs up free Camaro diecasts
Wed, 27 Feb 2013There are still plenty of companies that haven't gotten the whole social media thing down pat yet, but Hot Wheels isn't one of them. During the recent Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, Hot Wheels created a lot of buzz for itself by using a vending machine filled with Chevrolet Camaro models, but instead of money to get the cars, show attendees just had to use Twitter.
To get the free car, people were asked to send a tweet to Hot Wheels Canada saying what they liked about the new Hot Wheels Edition Camaro, and including the #ChevyCIAS hashtag. This seemed to be a popular marketing tool, too, as AdWeek reports that the @HotWheelsCanada account more than tripled in followers during the course of the 10-day show. Looking ahead, this could open up even more innovative marketing possibilities using social media.
Check out the video posted below to watch how it works, and while the auto show has ended and the free-car giveaway has too, we're almost certain that some of the 1,500 freebies will make their way onto eBay.
Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]
Mon, 18 Mar 2013Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. You can check out the brief press release below for more information, or head over to the Callaway site to plunk down a deposit - but before you do, we want to know... do you find this C7 wagon interesting? Vote in our poll below, then feel free to leave a few lines in Comments.

Corvette Stingray designer lists five goals of new exterior shape
Fri, 12 Apr 2013Redesigning an icon is a difficult task, especially when you've got a blank sheet of paper in front of you and the all-new C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is intended to be your final objective.
General Motors has released a new short video featuring Kirk Bennion of the Corvette's exterior design team, talking about the challenges of sculpting Chevrolet's new flagship sports car and the five goals the team had to keep in mind as it worked. In the end, Bennion's team had the pleasure of seeing their hard work take center stage as the Corvette captured the world's eyes at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.
